Fin beliggenhed.
ALT for lille seng…….
The staff were delightful: friendly, helpful, average cheerful. Room was warm, and the bed comfy. Free tea and coffee in reception, and cakes and fruit in the afternoon, were great. The old-style lift (max passengers: 2) was charming, if a little impractical. Great location close to the station. I liked the place and would stay again.
First of all, the price from booking.com was X kr but when I tried to pay by card, in local currency, the terminal added over 50kr. I mean, wtf? If I'm paying in kr then it should be the amount quoted. (Nice lady on Reception upgraded my room so I paid it, but this really isn't on).
The cooked breakfast was poor: scrambled egg was really pale, with an odd taste. I genuinely found myself wondering if it was made with oatmilk or something like that. Bacon was too salty and overcooked. And only skimmed milk (0.4%) was available for making tea/coffee. Not even semi-skimmed, let alone whole milk. The non-cooked options were fine though.
Lots of little oddities, though they didn't really matter:
- the large room had a ceiling light over the bed, then a tiny desk light on the other side of the room. In between, the darkness of Mordor.
- light switches were weird: the one by the door had the function on / maybe-on, depending on bedside switch positions. So there was no single switch that would definitely turn the lights off, regardless of the other switches.
- there were no drawers or cupboards at all in the room, just an odd open hanging space.
The location was excellent, just a short walk from the central station, which made getting around very convenient. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always helpful.
When I first arrived, the carpet in my room was wet. I informed the reception, and they immediately gave me another room without any hassle. The new room was much better, and I really appreciated how quickly they handled the situation.
The bed was comfortable, and I had a pleasant stay overall during my five days there. I also liked that coffee and fresh fruits were available throughout the day.
The breakfast was okay, but since it is served in the basement, the smell would stay on my clothes and hair for hours. As I was traveling for work, I really didn’t like smelling like breakfast for half the day.
The hotel is located at the intersection of two main streets, so it was quite noisy. Every morning, I would wake up when the traffic started to intensify. If you are a light sleeper, this might be something to consider.
Central beliggenhed, rigtig gode senge, god morgenbuffet
