Mystic River Hotel & Suites Near Casinos

Disgusting and dirty toilet had been used and toilet paper left inside , walls had chipped paint and a hole in the wall , bed threading coming out I didn’t stay at all I went elsewhere

The pictures on the Expedia site depicting this property must have been taken years ago as there was no relation to what we saw with our own eyes. Although the room provided us with an opportunity to rest and sleep, it was very outdated as the entire property was. The room has a kind of musty odor and the mattress cover on the pull out bed was stained and had evidence of mouse droppings. The nightly price we paid of $350 was not in relation to the overall conditions.

This hotel is in need of major infrastructure updates. It is quiet, almost to an abandoned feel. Attempts at a face lift is evident. It is adjacent to an empty restaurant and other building.

There is an empty, former restaurant attached to the hotel which makes it look like it might be sketchy but the lobby and rooms very clean, comfortable and well decorated. The staff was very friendly too. Don’t judge a book by its cover. It was a very nice stay for a great price and close to the aquarium.

It is located close to Foxwoods and mystic Aquarium. We were able to check in earlier than 3. The outside of the hotel is not ideal. The outside doors that say locked 24/7 were wide open. No key required. The room was ok however someone tired to get into our room in the middle of the night. I always put something in front of the door overnight. We were woken up by a loud band. The top foor was half open and the it not for the loud bang of the luggage rack slamming into the door, someone could have walked into our room and we wouldn't have know it. We believe they had a key. The bottom lock was also unlocked. We lock everything when in the hotel room.

This hotel has changed hands several times in the last fifty years and little has changed. It is clean and fine for an inexpensive overnight stay but feels a bit worn and outdated. The staff was pleasant and the check-in/out process straightforward.

Room is updated but only so so Rest of hotel is old run down and dirty. Outside isn’t kept up Okay for one night to sleep but otherwise I wouldn’t stay again

It has taken me a week to write this as I am so disappointed in both expedias service and the hotel. The “hotel” is nothing like the photos, it looks abandoned and run down upon arrival. There is no air conditioning and it is filthy. We did not even check in. I purchased trip insurance and they would not honor it. I tried to speak with Expedia and they did absolutely nothing to provide assistance. We lost money and had to find a last minute accommodation for my two toddlers, husband and my pregnant self. Atrocious.

The room listing stated there were "2 bedrooms" but really only one. And that one bedroom had NO DOOR.

Staff friendly. Pool not working. Ice and vending not working. Room was ok, bed comfortable.

Excellent and friendly staff. Very quiet and walking distance of the aquarium and mystic diner. I e joyed the stay vwry much and for the price it was a no brainer. Will be back in the future. Thank you.

The pictures used are from at least a few decades ago. The lobby was dim and smelled musty.The main staircase railing was held together with electrical tape at the top of each banister. Pool was closed and look like it had been for a while, the old restaurant/banquet hall area was closed off and looked like it was falling apart inside. There were stains on the towels and shower curtain. The AC in the room worked but was turning on & off every 10 minuets and was very loud when doing so. Everytime the rooms next to us flush a toilet or ran a shower or their AC units kicked on we could hear it perfectly. It was not noted the rooms had adjoining doors. I obviously locked it on my side but the door was opened more than once on the other side throughout the night. Interacted with the staff once at checkout and the woman looked bothered we were there. No greeting, just take my cards, verify my ID and took a personal call on her cell while doing so.
The room provided a place to sleep, but it was not a restful sleep due to the constant noise and the adjoining room door opening. When we went to check out two staff member simply pointed to a box to drop the key and went back to ignoring us. Every vending machine through was taped with signs and dead.
I would not stay here again and I would not recommend this location to anyone else.

FIX COKE MACHINES

The front desk staff was friendly and fast. Checking in at night and having our room towards the back meant driving around the building, it is not well lit and was a little worrying safety wise, as the doors from the parking lot into the buildings were not locked and many were wide open. Our room was comfortable and clean, the AC was working great, good WiFi, bathroom light took a minute to figure out, but we got there! The photos aren't quite accurate for what the rooms actually look like, but it is a convenient spot if you are going to local sights and attractions.
