Power outage upon arrival lol. Was forced to carry five large suitcases up TWELVE flights of stairs. Not ideal upon arriving to Egypt. The location is on the 6th floor. Was only using this location to drop our bags and come back many hours later to grab our bags and head to our flight to Aswan. The power outage was not the fault of the hotel since it impacted the entire building - but it was only that one building that was impacted. The room and the accommodations are fine given the price, no issue there. Each room within the hotel has its own key, so you can lock your room and not worry about your belongings. I think if perhaps you are a solo traveler and are on a tight budget this might be a good choice. It was difficult to find and even our taxi driver had trouble finding it at first. However, the address is indeed correct, you just need to look for the very tiny sign with the hotel name.
Property needs good Maintenance
Location was excellent it is close to everything you would want to see. I think many travelers coming from the States would be disappointed but as far as a place to sleep and keep your stuff while you check out Cairo go it was good and did the job.
The hostel is located in the 6th floor, the room was very cleaned, if you want to stay a night is a good choice,
It was so bad that we didn't stay and forfeited the money paid
Separate shower room would've been a plus.
The shuttle service by the owner was a life-saver.
We stayed at Colombia hotel in June. We were off to a good start with Mohammed, the hotel owner collecting us from Cairo train station and driving us a short 5 minutes journey to the hotel. Mohammed said that as it was a very short trip, it shouldn’t cost much and he wouldn’t overcharge us. But he did. He charged us 300 EGP for what should have been a 30 EGP journey.
Here are the things we experienced during our stay:
1. There was another surprise charge of 350 EGP just to check-in 2 hours earlier, even though the room was ready! More money being squeezed from us.
2. We booked the twin room (2 beds), but were only given one bed. The receptionist’s attitude was unapologetic and incredibly dismissive. Despite the confusing messaging on the website, she refused to help or rectify the situation. Throughout our stay, her attitude was the WORST, fixed with a condescending smile. Why does it say “or” if twin and double mean the same thing? Even despite all this, we were very polite and put it down to a language barrier.
3. We were given only ONE towel between us. We asked for extra towels but they were stained and dirty. Even the mattress protector was filthy.
4. Wi-Fi is spotty.
5. Housekeeping is NOT included. We had to ask the receptionist on our penultimate day to clean the room. Terrible system.
6. Breakfast is NOT included. We didn’t even bother to ask about this. Too many bad experiences at this hotel.
Do NOT stay here.
The stsff were very helpful in every way
All ok
Friendly and helpful staff
The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the property is at an excellent location close to masajid and downtown shopping/food locations. We enjoyed our stay!
Great location, wonderful staff so helpful, and close to great things to do.
The staff were very helpful in getting us checked in and the space was quiet.
Staff was very helpful. Rooms were clean and quiet.the entry to the hotel and building were definitely 3rd world
It was really a great stay in the hotel. Very kind staff and the place was very clean. My only problem was the check in time as my flighr arrived around 6 am so I waited for hours before being able to get into the room, otherwis it was a great experience and I would definitely stay there again.
Reasonably priced and great downtown location.
Clean, quiet, and friendly staff.
Finding the place was a little confusing, it’s a boutique hotel in an old building that has a bunch of other businesses and hotels. The room was alright but missing a heater and extra linens to stay warm. The wifi worked, which seems to be a hard thing to come by in Egypt. Could’ve been cleaned and maintained a little better, especially the bathroom, but the staff was nice. Breakfast was served to my room and was traditional Egyptian and decent, I just wish they would’ve brought it to me at the time I asked because I had to check out in 10min when the food arrived. The receptionist and service lady was nice and when I forgot something in the room they messaged me to let me know and even offered to ship it. I picked it up but appreciated the gesture. Due to the customer service, I’m giving them another try and will be staying there again, in a smaller room this time since the price is more than affordable. I’m curious to see whether my experience will be the same or different this time around.
Had a nice time. And very helpful staff. The manager was really good 4 organising trips for you. Also free from scams. Lovely area...lots of shopping places nearby
