location is perfect for the city centre and river ..
maybe it was a bad day or so ,but for me i found it very disappointing.. breakfast was just so poor ,food was cold ,.no staff there to mention it.all . eventually a nice young lassie arrived ,seemed she was doing everything around the hotel.lacked bit leadership around hotel in bar also.
Fantastic value, hidden gem
N;A
The views from our room of the Castle and river were lovely but unfortunately that's where it stopped!!
The room was very dated and in need of a revamp. The shower room was really small and the shower really tiny. The breakfast room was a very miserable place and the cooked food was only aired. All in all not a pleasurable experience.Wont be visiting again!
Son emplacement est très bien
Son rapport qualité prix aussi
Son histoire qui traverse les années
Chambre vieillissante avec un problème d’isolation mais le prix rendait justifiable
Everything
Room was lovely, especially liked the arched window that overlooked the river and castle. Great location, decent price.
Breakfast unfortunately was a bit chaotic; hot buffet was not ready, came out and I started to serve my plate, bacon and sausages had run out, well there were 2 bits of bacon well I say bacon, they were mostly fat and well undercooked. Waited ages for more bacon, gave up on the sausages. Buffet just not big enough for a hotel that size, or maybe the chef was hungover. Could have been avoided by booking breakfast (which I don't like to do, but it seems it is necessary at a time rather than an open slot) to avoid all guests arriving at once and not enough cooked food.
Breakfast was very cold.and tea and coffee !!! Sation Milk over otherside ! Walking with hot water or tea when other people passing you not very good!! And very cold breakfast could be much better organised ..and the dust at fireplace black ..could be cleaner....And nobody at desk when leaving went to bar to see if anyone was there But Nobody very sad handel of wardrope !!
Liked the river veiw
Hotel very convenient, near to where I was visiting
Overall hotel seemed ' sad / drab ' in need of some refreshment. Breakfast coffee lukewarm served from flasks. Food warm - not hot from servery !
Location, right on the river and town centre.
MacNab bar, nice for a nightcap and nice local live music
No hot water at all I both rooms and none to talk to in reception in the morning.
View was beautiful
When checked in, there was no mention about booking and paying breakfast and no mention about where restaurant was. We was just given our key card and told what floor our room was on. There is some info on booklet in room though it didn’t explain about booking breakfast at the reception. I only found out by going online. The tv only managed to channel in on 3 channels and the tv stands are on the wrong way, so tv was tilted. As it was cold we spent most of the night in the room, so tv was on but couldn’t get anything decent on it to watch. The room was quite cold but there was a plug in heater which helped. The bar downstairs is good and food is ok. When finding out about breakfast we did book breakfast for the next morning. We had an ok sleep and breakfast was good. There is a very good selection of food. When leaving and handing our key card back. The lady at the desk asked our room number and said that is fine with friendly face. Although with being at other hotels they usually ask if you had a nice stay. Which was not done. Overall it’s an ok hotel but would have liked more interaction from staff with no mention of where things are, breakfast and if we had a nice stay. The hotel itself is beautiful, just a shame about other things. Thanks
Great location. Pretty comfy bed.
The heating situation wasn’t ideal
The staff were very polite and helpful, the evening meal was lovely I had the steak pie and my wife had fish and chips and both were delicious and ample portions too. Our room was well laid out and the bed very comfy..
On arrival there was no ramp for my disability buggy and had to get off and lift it up the step,we were told later they did gave a ramp but hadn't put it out,I had messaged to say I was taking it with me. At breakfast there was a large selection of items for a full cooked breakfast but it was cold or lukewarm at best, this was at 9am with breakfast being served till 9.30am so it was not like we were late.
The view from my window was gorgeous.
Central to bus station. Bed comfy.
Would definitely stay again.
Staff good especially reception
Heating needs attention
An old building just by the river, great location
