1 night at the Columba
Pros:

Location was good. Breakfast was nice.

Cons:

Not being able to check in at 3pm as stated because the cleaners hadn't finished any of the rooms so quite a queue by 3.30pm waiting. Fire alarms going off after midnight and us standing outside freezing with no staff member taking a role call until a senior member appeared in a taxi and then called the fire brigade.

A wonderful stay in a wonderful city!
Pros:

This is one of the best locations in Inverness, by far! The fantastic, charming building only amplifies the magic of the "Capital of the Highlands." Directly across the river from the renovated castle, and immediately on the famed "river walk," you have direct, walking access to the city center in 5 minutes or the peaceful Inverness islands in 10. AND it has an elevator! Can't recommend enough. We stay here every time we're in Inverness. Full stop.

Cons:

The only downside here is the parking. You have to pay for parking at a car park about 5 minutes walk down the street. You can, however, load and unload outside the door before you park.

Great hotel but staff could work on communication.
Pros:

The location was perfect for us as we were in Inverness to connect to a Rabbies tour and the pickup location was around the corner from the hotel. Easy walking distance to main town. Beautiful walk along the river to Ness Islands.

Cons:

The room was not available for the 3pm checkin time. We had arrived at 2pm and the hotel did store our bags but we still didn’t get into our room until 4pm. It was not clearly communicated that there would be a delay due to large tour groups using the hotel. One staff member in particular was not open about what was happening.

Pros:

The room was large with windows facing the castle and the location was great for what we wanted to see.

Cons:

Confusing layout. Door to bathroom was hard to open and switch for the exhaust fan was on the ceiling. When we talked to staff, they were nice, but I think they are stretched too thin. A worn out look to the place. Really needs updating - paint, carpets etc. Bar and restaurant low end.

No repetiríamos.

Book for the location only. Don’t expect much else.
Pros:

The location was magical. Directly on the river and across from the castle. Right in the center of the old city and many fine restaurants and bars.

Cons:

Despite reporting it had both a bar and a restaurant, both were closed the first night we were there due to “gas issues” and the restaurant itself was closed the second night also due to gas issues. Those whose bookings included the full breakfast (not us) were advised that only continental would be provided. Also the general overall state of the place was one of neglect.
