This log cabin style cottage is located about a ten minute drive from Big Sky Village. The cottage/ cabin where my husband and I stayed offered a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains. The two bedrooms and two baths were spotless as was the well equipped kitchen. The decor looked to be quite new and reflected the cowboy theme. The location of the cabin was very quiet and perfect for a relaxing stay. I would not hesitate to highly recommend a stay at this special place.
Great cabin nestled into the woods on the mountain. In the summer, there was a fun amount of wildlife to watch including deer and a red tail fox.
We stayed in cabin #25 (6 Stirrup Drive) for a week in late January. The cabin, cozy (small, warm), and situated right on a connector track (the groomers go right up to the deck). If you are comfortable on intermediate runs, it's perfect. If you are rusty or find blues too challenging, both Madison Base or Mountain Village are just a short drive away (renting an AWD/4WD is a good idea). Like the other Cowboy Heaven cabins, #25 is starting to show its age, although mostly in cosmetic ways. Our biggest functional complaints were that the pillows were in severe need of replacement and our cabin did not have a washer/dryer as some others do. The hot tub on the porch was perfect. We cooked most of our meals and the kitchen was very functional.
Overall, we were very pleased with our stay in #25; however, we might look for a unit with a washer/dryer next time. And maybe bring our own pillows.
Nice cabin with amazing views. Clean and comfortable. Not the kind of place where every detail is attended to (only one roll of toilet paper per bathroom with no spare), old square-box style TV, no fans + no a/c on a fairly hot weekend. But good for a family of 5. Hot tub worked well and you can't beat sitting in it after a long day of hiking/running The Rut!
Great kitchen with everything we needed.
People were extremely helpful. My husband forgot something in our cabin and when we called to see if they could go check the cabin they did it immediately. They also contacted us and coordinated UPS shipping. Great service and the cabin was picturesque even if the towels and garbage from previous renters was still in unit
The staff was friendly and met all of our needs during our stay. The cabin was clean, had comfortable beds and was more than adequate for our family of four. The drive to Yellowstone was about an hour and there were plenty of restaurants for dinners out and grocery stores for supplies. I would recommend arriving in the daylight because it was a little tricky to navigate. ( oh yeah, and the hot tub was a plus!)
The view is incredible. Everything was working and well stocked in kitchen and laundry. If you like privacy and a home away from home vacation, you will find this place to be ideal.
Cowboy Heaven is a great location and small community of individual cabins nestled in the woods. It is private and comfortable. Most have a great view (ours not so much). We loved the hot tub on the front porch and the kitchen was fairly well equipped for a group of 4 (not any extra dishes to speak of). The concept is great but they are in need of a facelift. The unit we stayed in is about 18 years old and in need of a designer update The shabby chic design is a little tired. The beds are comfortable and the unit was clean with the exception of a shower liner that needed replaced. No A/C but the shade of the trees and manipulating the windows keep it cool. Free wifi was strong and appreciated. We were only allowed to use pool facilities at the hotel several miles away (Huntley Lodge) rather than the pool area that was in our immediate area (Moonlight Basin)....a little inconvenient and therefore not a perk. The only other issue is no place to put garbage. They did not pick it up and there are no nearby places for disposal. We had two search out the drop after 2 calls and a short drive down the hill. Nearby receptacles would be nice (bear proof and in a nearby location).
Absolutely great place to stay, great view from private hot tub!
Has great potential, but needs a bit of attention to make this a great property. Pls see pros and cons below.
Awesome cabin. Great mountain views. Plenty of wildlife. Deer, fox, bear...
A great cabin, very cozy and the hot tub was a nice surprise. The cabins are hard to find at night, but the hotel staff escorted us to our cabin on the night we arrived.
It was really nice but finding the lodge to check in at was really hard to find. But after we got checked in it was really nice!
2 night stay in Big Sky during recent West Coast roadtrip. The cabin was well appointed, clean, and very comfortable. At the top end (altitude 8163') of a cabin complex near the Big Sky ski resort. The cabins are privately owned and managed through some 3rd party connection to Moonlight Lodge. This was a problem when our wi-fi didn't work and no one could help. Lots of wildlife in the area (Elk, deer, bear) and relatively crowded with visitors considering Summer off-season. Bad points were: no wi-fi (included in price), in-cabin or complex laundry services, vicious mosquitoes, and altitude sickness (for non-acclimated visitors). In retrospect, these inconveniences were overshadowed by the excellent cabin and beautiful mountain landscape.
It was great but very very hard to find. Expedia gave me an address that was wrong. We had to be escorted to our door after 1 am as nobody could help us locate the hotel and nobody answered 24 hr phone. It wasn't a cabin at all it was a 3 bedroom house that could of been a model home. We didn't want to leave.
It is a gorgeous place with a wonderful view. The amenities are as described. We would like to get back.
The cabin was nice the weather was perfect and the view was gorgeous
We stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin, which had beautiful views and was clean. However, the queen size bed was extremely hard. Luckily, we were traveling with memory foam, which we put on the bed and so were able to sleep. The main bath tub was very slow draining. The rug in the entry way was worn and curled up on both sides, which caused us to trip quite a bit. We did have plenty of space, but it could use some work.
Cabin was dirty! The floor had lots of crumbs that needs to be vacumn. TV in living didn't work and we didn't see any DVDS player in any room.
Overall cabin needs a little more work for the PRICE for sure.
Two days in Yellowstone, golf, sip lines, pool, tram to Loan Peak, etc.. Great vacation
