Pros:

The view from the roof terrace/bar/breakfast is beautiful! Lovely quiet room. Excellent location next to lots of great restaurants. We enjoyed going to the beach and used the nearby boat one day (40 mins each way) and the hotel shuttle (15mins) on 2 days. Very helpful bar staff and cleaners.

Cons:

The views from the bedroom were poor, overlooking another hotel, although we enjoyed the view of the storks in their nest.

enjoyable comfy stay
Pros:

rooftop bar was great, building was modern, beds were comfortable, cleaning was good, coffee, tea and mini fridge was great in the room

Cons:

the pool wasn't very clean looking so we didn't go in. there was a smell in the room that couldn't be aired out. parking is too expensive for guests, there was no ventilation in the bathroom

Air conditionné défectueux et ne fonctionnant pas dans la chambre. Soufflerie active sans froid résulat environ 27 degrés en permanence dans la chambre... Peu idéal par temps chaud avec de surcroit un bébé. Pas de solution proposée par établissement

Staff at reception were very friendly, helpful, and professional. The hotel was spacious and clean. The room was comfortable and spacious. The restaurant area was lovely.

Cons:

The pool area was not set up to accommodate many people, and did not have a shaded area, so we couldn’t use it.
The deck in our room looked only into rooftops.
The shower set up made the floor very wet in the bathroom.

Great rooftop views and location
Pros:

Overall, we had a good stay at Occidental Faro. The biggest highlight by far was the rooftop. The views from the rooftop bar and breakfast area were stunning, and honestly, I would stay here again just for the rooftop views and the location.

The location was very convenient and easy to get around from. Parking was also easy to use, which we appreciated, but the spaces were very tight. The room itself was small, and while we technically had a balcony, it might as well not have had one because the view was blocked by roofs right in front of us.

The sauna and steam room were a great addition and something we really enjoyed, especially since it was too cold to swim while we were there. The staff were friendly, but nothing really stood out as exceptional.

Overall, there were a few things that could have been better, but the rooftop views, breakfast, and location made it worth it. I would stay here again for those reasons.
