House of Amstel

Piano strada. Senza finestre, solo una vetrina negozio che consentiva alla luce di entrare senza essere visti dalla strada.

It says studio but had no crockery or cutlery .

Despite providing our check-in time the day before, and following the instructions to text the property 15mins before arrival, we were not greeted at the door. Had to call all the listed numbers twice before finally getting through to someone.
It honestly wasn't a great first impression.

Netflix IS available on the TV, but only if you have your own account to log in to, and the TV doesn't have any channels or other streaming options. So if (like me) you don't have a Netflix account, the TV is completely useless.

The rooftop terrace IS lovely, but it really needs some love and attention at the moment. The seating is super comfortable, but the cushions are stained and have several large burn holes in them. There's some rubbish caught under the decking, a dirty and faded flamingo ornament lying sadly on its' side in the corner, the plants are all dead or dying (possibly due to the recent heatwave?), and the wood screen that hides the fans up there is keeling over.
We booked this stay mostly for the gorgeous rooftop terrace in the pictures, so we were quite disappointed to find that it hasn't been better maintained.

L'accès à la terrasse bloqué car la porte coinçait. Ce n'est que Dimanche matin avant de partir en poussant très très fort que la porte s'est débloquée. On a envoyé plusieurs messages dans la journée de samedi pour que quelqu'un vienne, mais samedi soir, nous avions beau forcer sur la serrure et la porte, on ne l'a voyait pas bouger. On n'a pas pu en profiter alors que c'était l'élément majeur de nos critères de recherche pour un logement dans le centre d'Amsterdam, et avons payé le prix en conséquence.

The cleaning aspect with dust above bed headboard and a bit of attention to the balcony area as plants looked to be struggling and loose decking boards but apart from that a really wonderful set up.

1, The management sent me a message a few days before the trip to ask that I contact them 15 mins pre arrival, so that they could meet and greet me into the property. I called on both the numbers on the email, one number just range and the other went straight to answerphone. I arrived at the property and found two different numbers on the door to that of the email. I called the first number but again, no answer. Called the second number, no answer but I got a text 2 mins later, the text gave me the code for the key but no one met me and I found this stressful to be left in a city that I’ve never been to before and no-one answered the call.
2, we also had to help two other couples with the same contact issues as we had. Just terrible!
3, on the first night, I pulled the curtains shut and noticed a needle/pin attached to the curtain! So lucky that this didn’t jab me and that I saw this. There could be any diseases on the needle, not happy with this at all and very unhygienic!!
4, room was very dated, untidy and old

They need to supply better pillows and sheets were single beds sheets fitted across the bed. Which was a little uncomfortable. The right size sheets need to be used which would be more comfortable. And extra pillows or better pillows would make it more comfortable.
