Lovely hotel, great staff and a great location. Ask for a firm mattress
Pros:

The location and the good housekeeping. The buffet breakfast was great and the staff were so helpful when beloved Teddy was left behind. We were so impressed with the kindness of the staff.

Cons:

The beds are very soft and mine had a dip causing you to fall out. I had to sleep on the floor by the third night as the bed was so soft it hurt my back.

Pros:

It was situated very close to the city, an easy walk into the centre. Close to all pubs, cafes and restaurants. A five minute walk to bus stop that goes to the airport.

Location was walking distance to the theatre venue we were booked at.

Cons:

I believed from a previous study that there was free parking at the hotel. On arrival I was unable to enter to the carpark to check in, as there was a barrier. From my car i unable to read the bottom of the sign. Apparently you have to pay $29 per night. Exorbitant when I was already paying for a premium room. It seems every aspect of 'service' is now only available through extra charges.

Awesome stay in city centre! Great buffet breakfast.
Pros:

Great facility, we enjoyed our stay and it was a great price seeing we booked well in advanced. Room was very comfortable and spacious for the two of us. Bathroom was nice and shower was spacious too. Staff were very friendly and helpful, it was good to know our car was safely parked in the carpark. We loved our cooked breakfast buffet, food was delicious and it was well priced. We normally stay at the pavilions when in Christchurch but definitely would stay at the Rydges again especially when needing to be close to the city centre.

Cons:

We loved everything, only complain would be there were a couple of hairs in the shower on arrival tho didn’t matter too much as we could see it had been thoroughly cleaned.

Pros:

Great room, bar, restaurant and service

Cons:

We were on the roadside by the goods entrance and it was very noisy early in the morning (6.30am) with refrigerted delivery trucks and rubbish being dumped into skip bins.
