Pendry Chicago

If you are looking for a "4 star hotel" with high level accommodations and excellent guest service, just stay somewhere else. This hotel is not 4 star. It appears 4 star, as the lobby is gorgeous and the building is historic, but it does not operate as a high level hotel should. Wifi did not work in our room, our guest room phone did not work and was disconnected, food is overpriced, elevators are slow, check-in process was slow and they had so many people waiting in the lobby. If this is booked with fine hotels & resorts through American Express then DEFINITELY avoid - you do not get nearly any of the amenities they say they can/should provide.

Hotel was a bit outdated, breakfast service was horrible. Hostess had a major attitude and the food and waitress took forever to come. Hotel room was noisy.

The Hotel Pendy's prime location is conveniently close to Michigan Ave which is perfect for a lovely walk to shops and food. We were very pleased with the room which was well kept, clean and comfortable. The Verteux resturant on site was excellent, we loved the oysters! Bar Pendry was nice to stop for a drink and relax. I would definitely return for another stay at hotel Pendry.

My stay at the Pendry Chicago was truly exceptional and made my first trip to Chicago incredibly memorable. From the moment I arrived, the level of service stood out. Every detail felt thoughtful and elevated.

The hotel itself is beautiful, perfectly located, and has such a great atmosphere. Everything, from the rooms to the overall experience, felt refined yet welcoming.

The Pendry was one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The hotel itself was very well maintained. I loved the blend of design between historic Chicago with modern upgrades. Small touches like refilling glass waters in the room each day, to bathrobes, to quality linens really elevated the stay. My room was beautiful. The room service was top quality. I ordered breakfast in every morning. The lattes and chia seed pudding were delicious. The location of this hotel is perfect, I was able to walk everywhere. I would absolutely stay here again.

I recently stayed at the Pendry Chicago for a quick trip, and while the property itself is beautiful and well-located, what truly stood out and what will absolutely bring me back was the level of service.

Muriel and Michael, along with the entire bell staff, went above and beyond to make me feel genuinely welcomed from the moment I arrived. Their attention to detail, warmth, and ability to personalize the experience with great recommendations based on my reason for visiting did not go unnoticed. It’s rare to encounter a team that strikes such a perfect balance between professionalism and authentic hospitality, but they absolutely delivered. I travel a lot, and this was a standout service experience.

Because of them, I would not hesitate to return to the Pendry Chicago and would confidently recommend it to others looking for both a beautiful hotel and truly exceptional service.

My room never got below a very humid 71/72 degrees the entire night. I was unable to sleep the entire night. A fan was provided but this was zero help… I have never been at a “luxury” hotel that did not even have functioning AC. I was extremely disappointed by this “2 key Michelin star” hotel… I would have rather stayed at the Citizen’s M across the street.

The location is also one of our favorite parts of staying here, absolutely beautiful and perfect for walking to so many of the city’s best spots, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable.

Pendry has made our stay feel like home once again!

Excellent location. We have gone a couple times to this hotel and is not overcrowded. It is charming, calm, and easy going. We like it every time we have stayed here. We feel relaxed and almost feel like if we were staying outside the city. And the price is great for the amenities you get and the location.

Muriel and Crystal at the front desk were excellent!!!! They were very knowledgeable, very helpful and overall perfect. Great people make a hotel great.

We had a great two nights at the Pendry. It's an awesome location - walking distance to Millennium Park and the Art Institute and much more. We used the Chase Sapphire Edit credit to stay and received an upgraded room, free breakfast, and $100 property credit. The room was amazing, breakfast was so filling and delicious (we chose room service) and the Venteux Restaurant was wonderful to use our property credit. Lariza at the front desk was so friendly and helpful. I would stay again without hesitation. One minor downside was some street noise/sirens, but it wasn't terrible. Definitely consider this hotel for your next Chicago stay!

My mom and I stayed at the Pendry Chicago, and it was easily one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had.

She went above and beyond in every interaction—welcoming, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our stay special. It’s rare to come across someone who brings that level of care, thoughtfulness, and attention to detail, and it made a lasting impression on both of us.

Bar area and rooms are nice

Amazing stay at the Pendry! Perfect location for getting around town! Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day on Saturday was such a fun experience, super close to the river and overall great time! Hotel axing with lobby and great rooms! Looking forward to returning! Jackie and Crystal at the front desk amazing!

The staff was extremely accommodating. The room was cleaned to perfection every day we were there. Above and beyond.
