Staff and housekeeping were amazing! The location is perfect - we walked everywhere and took the redline to most places.
There were two elevators out of the three and you had to wait sometimes up to 15 minutes for an elevator to be free and not filled with people and you couldn’t fit. The sounds from the streets is crazy - we faced the street and it was so loud. From the fire trucks - to the protestors - to the honking. It was all night long.
Great location and amazingly good value. We received a complimentary upgrade because our room wasn't ready and they even comped us some drinks at the bar while we waited. The concierge texted us a few days in advance to ask how they could help which was a nice touch. Great service that made it truly feel like a luxury hotel. And you can't beat the unique architecture.
The on-site restaurant is just so-so but in room dining was excellent. Did think it was a bit odd they charged both an $8 delivery fee and a 22% service charge for it, thought it should have been one or the either given the service is just in the delivery
Location was great! Walking distance to Chicago highlights, restaurants, and the river.
Front desk and Concierge were not welcoming, friendly, or helpful.
The decor was beautiful and the room was large and comfortable. Location was perfect for what we needed for our trip. The gym was convenient and had decent amenities, but it was a little small and a view would have been nice.
The elevators were incredibly slow, which became a nuisance after one or two days. Our room was right next to a staff room, so it was often loud right outside - that was disappointing for the price we paid. Room service was efficient, but very expensive. We had a meal on the rooftop that was pretty mediocre, even though the view was beautiful.
I was able to walk around in please 🙏🏾. We enjoyed the Soul feeling .
We enjoyed everything 🙌 ❤️
Elevators need to be modernized - very slow
Room was nice
We were speechless walking into our room. Staff and room exceeded our expectations and we cannot wait to book again.
The people who worked there were great! Quick
Quick service.
From start to finish great experience. 2nd time here and we will be back! We like the location - we stop at Garrett’s and Stan’s donuts every time.
Breakfast inside the hotel was pretty good and convenient when not looking to leave the room. The complementary water and espresso shots in the room also make for a great jump start or night cap when you wanted to maintain your comfort. Perry did everything to make sure any question, concern, or need was handled promptly.
After a long morning of moving about the city we returned to the hotel bar area with food that we had purchased before returning and were told that outside food was not allowed in the bar/restaurant area. We returned during check in time so the small lobby was full and there was nowhere else to dine while our room was being turned.
Plan for delays at the checkin. Avoid rooms toward the Michigan Ave if you want peaceful sleep. Very noisy due to traffic and emergency vehicles.
we absolutely adored our stay at the carbon suite. not only was the location exceptional but the staff was also very nice. I would love to stay here again with my family and everything was very nice. in addition to this the chateau carbide was a wonderful addition to our trip. I had no issues however it would be nice if the hotel rooms had virtual room tours or videos on the website to make it easyer to know what you where booking considering several rooms had similar pictures.
I used my AMEX Platinum benefit for a stay at the Pendry Chicago. Sierra was the remarkable guest services agent who checked me in--and she went above and beyond for me! She upgraded me to an incredible corner suite and offered me a complimentary drink at the bar. She's a gem and I've already told all my colleagues and friends to visit the Pendry Chicago and ask for Sierra whenever they visit Chicago.
My suite was very, very large and cozy with views of all of downtown. I was very comfortable sleeping there.
My friends and I spent Saturday evening at the Pendry Bar. The drinks were made accurately and the ambiance was nice. I just wished the server was a bit more attentive to the guests, as we had to flag him down each time we wanted another drink. We spent well over the $100 AMEX bar credit because we were enjoying ourselves. Everyone was dressed very upscale and the bar exuded elegance and sophistication.
For the $60 AMEX breakfast credit, I opted to go down to the restaurant and order my breakfast to go Sunday morning. I wasn't particularly happy with how the check-in host ignored me while I was waiting in line to ask where I need to order my breakfast to go. He saw me arrive, helped the customer in front of me, then proceeded to ask the customer BEHIND me if they had been helped, before they kindly told him that I was first. Then he rudely asked what I wanted. On the other hand, the cashier who took my order was a very friendly trans woman and I ended up giving her a huge tip for her hospitality. She was the complete opposite of the host and exuded excellent customer service.
While I did not get the chance to visit the rooftop terraces and other public areas such as the gym, as a Black male, overall I was positively welcomed and will visit again in the future. Thank you, Sierra, the transwoman cashier, and the Pendry staff!
We had a wonderful stay for the weekend and enjoyed every moment of our time there relaxing in the hotel and the amenities.
