Stayed here 2 nights here before a cruise, my goodness it was awful
We didn’t realise just how bad it was as we were off a 9hour flight with young children then an hour or 2 at airport, we dumped the bags and went out for dinner
When we came home we realised this was more of a dingy 1 star motel
The location is only good for convention centre. You are a good 20min walk from the main areas (with elderly parents and young kids not ideal), we will take this us with TA upon return as this was Mis-sold
You check into the sister hotel which is a nice boutique hotel, rooftop pool etc. you are then marched via a rear entrance to a very old, dated, musty smelling property.
The public areas as well as the rooms are all dated and tired
The rooms are very dirty and smell damp/mouldy
If you are on rooms over looking the main road (even numbers) the road is extremely busy, deliveries at all hours and you can hear people shouting and screaming at all hours during the night
You have to pay a $45 per room per night tax (which was waived by the manager eventually). The hotel take a $100 per night per room holding charge upon arrival aswell
See attached photos for reference to just how bad the property is
This was sold as part of a package with Royal Caribbean cruise line via Stewart Travel in the UK
There is no way this hotel should be linked to RC cruise line!
I had a room reservation from Liberty Park from 17th to 21st of March. It was 2 bed ADA accessible room
Before I reserved it I red ADA reqs conserning bed hights and bathroom.
So I understood that the room is according to it.
i am c6-c7 quadriplegic, can't do easy transfers, can't wlk n stand on my feet
When I got keys to ADA access room and I was in shock, bed is too high, I won't be able to transfer on it safely,
the other one was bathroom, there is atleast 6 inch step to shower area, so no roll in shower
those two things were the reason that I couln't stay in the room.
I payed the room without possibility to cancell it because I believed that your ADA access room means low bed and shower without step.
i discussed with hotel manager and sking to REFUND my hotel payment but the only thing she was able or willing to do was that I should write to reservations group. so I wrote but not any reply
The fact that we were able to occupy sunbeds at the beach complimentary, however, only 2 of them and we were there as 3, our room was also booked for 3 people. That was the ONLY advantage.
Rude staff, barely speaking English or not speaking English at all. Dirty bedding (we needed to change our room due to this), noisy nights, awful smell inside.
The hotel has good size room and decent air con. We stayed here 2 nights before a cruise. Most staff except Emma didn’t know anything you asked. The location is excellent, place could do with a makeover but clean enough. Breakfast was good and average price for Miami
Wouks have scored higher if it wasn’t for the scam. Take your card details and a security deposit of $100 dollars per room per night. No mention of taxes or whatever but we were charged £73 and despite emails have received no explanation a week later so BE WARNED as the most expensive toothpaste I’ve ever used. Wouldn’t recommend based on this
I booked and paid for a trip to Key West through reception at the Boulan hotel next door. But the woman who booked it messed everything up and in fact there was no booking made for Key West. This marred my holiday.
The grounds are beautiful and our room had a view on the courtyard
Nothing, it was perfect. The welcome wine was a nice touch but it wasn't good!
The property was beautiful and clean
The thermostat did not adjust. the room was either hot or cold. It Made it difficult to sleep
Location to the beach.
The carpet in all of the rooms and all of the hallways need to be replaced. There is a smell of mold in many areas and rooms around the hotel.
I was worried about coming to this hotel based on reviews, that trip advisor has. I booked through my credit card, which didn’t have some of these reviews. I was pleasantly surprised that it was nowhere near as bad as people have been posting. Yes it is dated, I would say it’s a boutique hotel that needs a renovation but for the price and the location you cannot beat it. Some of the fanciest hotels are right next-door to this place. The beds were comfortable. The bedding was great. Staff were great. The location is fantastic. One block from Miami Beach. you get free lounge chairs with your stay, which is great. The beach is beautiful. It’s walkable to everywhere. They also have a rooftop pool that is heated and has a hot tub. It’s beautiful . It’s close to all the restaurants. There’s a beautiful path along the beach you can go right or left from miles we booked because we were going to the Miami boat show. It was walkable by one or two blocks to the Miami boat show .We were there for five days. We had room 219 and it was quiet. I am sure some are not but there was no partying or craziness when we were there. There is a daily resort charge, but it was disclosed on our credit card receipt before we came , that this would be charged at the resort.
The location is ok, fairly quiet and the beds are comfy. The little shady courtyard is a lovely spot to relax in.
Our included breakfast was not a buffet but a choice of items off a separate menu, which turned out fine.
The pool area is nice but don’t move your sun-bed to face the sun or you’ll face being berated and the wrath of the pool staff ! Also no drinking water at pool only bottle to purchase.
The beach is close by, no shade unless you want to pay $25 for an umbrella!
The gym is old and needs investment.
Although, it says the hotel have bikes, they have one and it was punctured. Easy to hire bikes nearby.
The staff need to get off their personal devices and do their jobs.
Hotel information reeled off at speed upon check in, it’s a lot to try to digest, no further information in room, so listen up!
I had to practically go into battle with the housekeeping staff to get basic things topped up, like toilet paper & towels.
The hotel needs some serious investment in the infrastructure and training their staff to a better standard.
Personally we had a lot of issues and did not consider it value for money.
Not a great experience from check in to check out. You check in at one place then walk next door to another building and straight into a dining room / Restauant. No lobby. First room they gave us was next to the kitchen with major training going on fo the new restaurant they are ironing. Very loud . Luckily they moved us.
Hotel is very very dated. Brown carpets, dirty drapes, broken white tiles, not one window opened so stuffy and moldy smell, dingy lighting. Looks nothing like the photos on the website.
There was no kettle, no coffee maker in the room but lots of coffee capsules and coffee mugs. We asked for a coffee maker and they never brought one. When we followed up, they said they didn’t have one for us. In the entire hotel?
At check out we asked to see our bill and they couldn’t produce one. Couldn’t print one. Kept saying I have it my email. Still haven’t seen it. And they kept telling me I needed to refresh my email. No. I know how email works.
The pool is in another building, up two separate elevators, past a few more dingy hallways.
My advice: There are plenty of other places in Miami.
If you don’t care about service and you just need a bed and hot shower, then this place one level up from a hostel. I just expect a basic level of service— like following up on a simple request for a coffee maker that your website claims is in the room, and a printer for a bill to present to a guest. Not big asks and they failed.
Breakfast was very good
Location
The hallway & room smelled like a dank basemen from the 1970s. Staff were mildly helpful
Чистота, номера, расположение.
Халатный персонал, непродуманная система завтраков, сам ресторан не очень. Персонал в ресторане не доброжелательный.
Location
Tired facilities, glasses missing from room
We recently stayed here for 3 nights before getting on a cruise. All the staff we encountered we extremely pleasant and very helpful. Our room was fine. Clean and tidy. The bathroom though, was in need of some tlc. My husband used the gym and he said that was pretty good. Its in quite a good location, BUT, noise! Omg its probably one of the most noisy hotels we have stayed in. The air-conditioning is very good but very noisy. The windows and doors don't seem to keep out any noise from outside the room. Our window was right on the street and 4am one morning a group of people were shouting and screaming right outside, for a good 20 mins. Also we think the people in the room above were a family of elephants wearing cloggs!!!!! EARPLUGS are an absolute must if you stay here, particularly in our room anyway. We were also slightly concerned about the security in the room. The safe was in the wardrobe, but you could pick it up and walk off with it. It was my husbands birthday while we were staying and hoped to put his present in the safe, as it was fairly expensive, but I ended up giving it to him earlier so he kept it on him and didn't have to use the safe.
I can't comment on any food as we were room only, and we didn't use the pool or bar. Walking into the lobby of the south beach/ liberty park hotel, feels like being in a bit of a building site. They were refurbishing whilst we were there so the place looked nothing like the photos, as they had obviously only been done for advertising. I think it would have been better to close during the refurb, rather than have guests going under ladders and through dirty dusty areas to get to our room. This hotel was fine for 3 days but had we been staying longer we would have been quite disappointed . So as I said at the beginning the staff were great but the photos on line are very misleading at the moment anyway. Hopefully when the refurbishment is finished it will feel more like a hotel and less like a building site.
Just a note to add after we checked out we were charged over £100 , when we specifically asked twice if there were any extra charges before leaving, and were told, No. I am yet to find out what the charge was for.
