Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Zeit in diesem Hotel und sind mehr als zufrieden. Da wir mit unserem Baby gereist sind, war uns Komfort, Sauberkeit und ein guter Service besonders wichtig – und das Hotel hat unsere Erwartungen sogar übertroffen.

Schon bei der Ankunft wurden wir äußerst herzlich empfangen. Das Team an der Rezeption war stets freundlich, professionell und hilfsbereit. Man fühlte sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen.

Die Sauberkeit im gesamten Hotel war beeindruckend. Die Zimmer, Restaurants und Gemeinschaftsbereiche waren immer makellos gepflegt.

Das Essen war ausgezeichnet: abwechslungsreich, frisch, sehr lecker und von hoher Qualität. Jeden Tag gab es eine große Auswahl, sodass keine Wünsche offenblieben.

Besonders hervorheben möchten wir die Freundlichkeit des gesamten Personals. Jeder Mitarbeiter begegnete uns mit einem Lächeln und großer Aufmerksamkeit, insbesondere gegenüber Familien mit Kindern.

Der Strand ist wunderschön, sauber und hervorragend gepflegt. Das klare Wasser und die angenehme Atmosphäre machten jeden Tag zu einem besonderen Erlebnis.

Dieses Hotel vereint exzellenten Service, hervorragende Sauberkeit, köstliches Essen und echte Gastfreundschaft. Wir haben uns als Familie rundum wohlgefühlt und werden diesen Aufenthalt nie vergessen.

Excellent hôtel avec un très bon rapport qualité-prix. Si vous aimez la plage, l’établissement possède l’une des plus belles plages de Tunisie. La nourriture est bonne, mais je pense qu’ils pourraient faire un effort supplémentaire, par exemple en proposant des glaces au lieu d’offrir une aussi grande variété de pâtisseries. Si je retourne en Tunisie pour les vacances, l’hôtel Bel Azur sera sans aucun doute ma prochaine destination !

La plage

Wir hatten einen rundum gelungenen Aufenthalt im Hotel Bel Azur in Hammamet und können das Hotel uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen!

Schon bei der Ankunft wurden wir an der Rezeption sehr freundlich empfangen. Es sind ausreichend Parkplätze vorhanden und das Personal war jederzeit hilfsbereit – sowohl beim Check-in als auch beim Transport unseres Gepäcks.

Die Zimmer sind zwar eher im klassischen Stil eingerichtet und teilweise etwas in die Jahre gekommen, erfüllen aber absolut ihren Zweck. Sie waren stets sauber, die Betten sehr bequem und dank der Klimaanlage konnten wir auch bei den hohen Temperaturen angenehm schlafen.

Das Essen war für uns eines der absoluten Highlights. Es gab eine große und abwechslungsreiche Auswahl, sodass wirklich jeder etwas Passendes gefunden hat. Trotz der vielen Gäste musste man am Buffet nie lange warten. Die Kellner waren immer aufmerksam, freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit.

Die drei großen Poolanlagen bieten ausreichend Platz zum Entspannen. Es stehen viele Sonnenliegen zur Verfügung, allerdings empfiehlt es sich, diese morgens früh zu reservieren. Der private Strand ist ebenfalls sehr sauber, wunderschön und mit vielen Sonnenschirmen ausgestattet, sodass man dort den Tag in vollen Zügen genießen kann.

Auch das Freizeitangebot am Abend hat uns gut gefallen. Es gab abwechslungsreiche Unterhaltung wie Karaoke oder eine Bauchtanzshow. Außerdem gibt es viele gemütliche Sitzmöglichkeiten – sowohl drinnen als auch draußen –, an denen man den Abend bei einem Getränk entspannt ausklingen lassen kann.

Getränke waren den ganzen Tag über verfügbar und am Nachmittag wurden zusätzlich leckere Snacks angeboten.

Ein ganz besonderes Lob und ein herzliches Dankeschön möchten wir an Sofien von der Rezeption aussprechen. Er hat uns in vielerlei Hinsicht unterstützt und sich außergewöhnlich engagiert.

I had yet another wonderful stay with friends at this hotel for birthday celebrations!!
My room was cleaned everyday by my lovely cleaner lady.
Yes the food can be repetitive but there is always something to eat at each meal time!!
The animation team are amazing and will always try to get everyone involved in activities. Big massive shout out to simon, ziko and momo who are great and always there to help with advice if you need any help.
The pool bar staff yassin and koussay are great always bringing drinks and amazing cocktails to me and my friends.
Also a big mention to kamel who works in the lobby bar for always making sure my coffee was ready for me in the morning.
I have been coming to this hotel for 3+ years and will continue to return.
The location is good and you can walk to the old medina and the local shops or a short taxi ride into the new medina.
Would definitely recommend this hotel.

This is my updated view….having moved rooms.

Booking this hotel was like matching with someone on a dating app whose profile pictures were clearly taken fifteen years, a couple of stone and several life choices ago. Every photo radiated pristine beauty and understated luxury. You arrive expecting George Clooney and are greeted by Uncle George. The online photos are not exactly lies—they're simply... aspirational. Somewhere, sometime, this hotel really did look like that but has clearly been neglected.
The reality is a building that's looking decidedly long in the tooth. The tiles and paths are often cracked, The furniture has survived a battering and things like pillows and sun beds are bravely soldiering on. Paint peels with quiet determination and there are enough knocks, scuffs and patches to suggest that "shabby chic" lost the battle with "just shabby" quite some time ago.

For the first few days, I felt thoroughly catfished. I couldn’t decide if the online photos deserved an award or a criminal investigation.

Then, just as I was drafting another withering review in my head, the hotel started revealing its actual personality.

The location is superb. The staff are wonderfully warm, funny and genuinely eager to help—so effortlessly kind that they make you feel like a very cherished guest. Then the food arrives, and it's good, really good. . Consistently fresh varied and something for all tastes. .

Slowly, the cracks stop being the whole story. You notice you're smiling more than you're complaining. The faded décor becomes background noise because the people and the experience are so unexpectedly good.

This hotel isn't the glamorous date from the profile pictures. It's the one who arrives wearing an old jumper, desperately needs a haircut, and should probably retire the photos from a much younger era. But then they make you laugh, treat you brilliantly, cook you an incredible meal, and by the end of the evening you realise you've stopped caring what they look like.

To the management…Please, update the photos of the rooms…they're setting everyone up for unnecessary disappointment. And yes, the place is crying out for some investment and a proper facelift. But beneath the worn tiles, faded paint and creaking furniture is something that can't be renovated into existence: genuine hospitality, real character and a great big heart.

To the owners- it’s a privilege to own a property like this, in a location like this, with such dedicated employees but I fear if you don’t invest in the maintenance of this total gem, complaints will become more frequent. Your hard working team and your guests deserve better.

A final thought, it may not be the hotel you think you're booking but it may just be “the one”!

We have only been here a couple of days so for the sake of fairness, I shall write a follow up review after our holiday. It’s always good to start with a positive, Tunisia is a fantastic holiday destination. The beaches, sea and more importantly, the people make it a wonderful place to spend your holiday. We have enjoyed all inclusive holidays here before and never been disappointed…until now. Each year, like other families, we pour over all the holidays available and then with hope and anticipation, book “the one!”. We then start the count down and daydream about spending special family time away from the distraction of the daily grind. When the holiday is good, it’s epic but when it disappoints, it hurts. This is the case with Bel Azur. The photos advertised show well maintained rooms and attractive dining room at a 4 star standard. The reality is far removed. We arrived on Saturday evening to a chaotic overcrowded hotel. We were told to go for dinner as the restaurant would close at 9pm. We were greeted with uncleared tables and food running out. What was available was fresh and well prepared but it was mayhem. We were then asked to wait for someone to show us to our rooms. (We had 2 booked). We waited, asked again where our room was until we finally after half an hour we found it and moved our own luggage. So the rooms… very dated. They are clean but look dirty because they are decrepit. Our room was right above the entertainment outside reception and above the smoking area. The room smelt of cigarettes and the promised balconies are a ledge with a railing. Loud, smelly and depressing. We raised our concerns and now 2 days later we have been moved to a quieter room with a balcony…backing onto a filthy flat roof. The sad thing is that the staff here really are brilliant. They are warm, helpful, attentive and work incredibly hard but it’s hard to provide four star service in what is best rundown 3 star facilities. The restaurant and pools seem seriously overcrowded and I know it’s peak season but this should be the problem of the hotel and not something guests should suffer. We are planning some trips so I will add those to my update.

Poor room cleaning! We caught the housekeeper wiping the sink using a towel. We also noticed that they don't use detergents, just water to clean. The tea cups in my room have lipstick marks. I had to wrap the remote control to use it. It was gross. I have ants in my bathroom and the sink is clogged. Towels are old. No handle to open the cabinet to the mini fridge. The cleaning crew is loud in the hallway and kinda disrespectful. Old mattresses! This cannot be a 4 star hotel!!! It's not worth the money and ruining your vacation!!!
