Room was pretty big.
Bath room was neglected and very tired. Couldn't get the kettle under the tap to fill it. Shower sprayed everywhere except where you were. Room lights were weird, didn't seem to light anything. View was of a flat roof and the sound from the pool area (we think) was all we could hear. Bar was very expensive, car park was charged but in our room there was a sign saying that our room came with free parking. Disappointing for the cost.
Breakfast was good, The receptionist Aneta was so nice and helpful and that really does make a difference the hotel should be very proud to have Aneta has an important member of staff.
No complaints at all
The service , facilities and proximity to attractions was simply exceptional .
I unfortunately had a health emergency which staff responded to in such a prompt, caring and professional manner. They even called after to check on me .
I enjoyed the facilities so much! They have a gym spin class room swimming area- it’s just great . They also have Starbucks in the hotel itself which was a tremendous plus. It's only a 16min drive from St Andrews Lake which has so many fun activities such as bungee jumping, zip line, wellness, aqua park - the list goes on.
I personally want to thank the staff for such a wonderful experience - I can’t wait to come back!
The rooms without AC could be a little cooler with better fans
all aspects were very good
nothing
Hotel was clean, convenient location for our trip
Reception staff were very unhelpful it took us three attemps to check in. breakfast buffet was average scrambled egg floating around in liquid wasn't very apertising. Coffee from machine was lukewarm. Bar was short staffed
Spacious
Breakfast was good, plenty of choice
The shower flooded the bathroom floor
The lighting was inadequate
The window was broken and couldn’t be closed
The view overlooked the roof
Disappointing return after many positive experiences in the past
We have a long history with Village Hotel Maidstone. We were members of the gym for around two years, held our joint wedding stag/hen celebrations here and have recommended the hotel to friends and family visiting the area. It had been approximately nine years since we personally last stayed, so we were looking forward to returning.
Unfortunately, the experience was nowhere near as enjoyable as we remembered.
Our room was booked six months in advance and we specifically requested a quiet location due to sleeping difficulties. Unfortunately, we were allocated a room overlooking a flat roof with air ducts/extraction equipment running throughout the night. The constant humming made sleeping extremely difficult and meant we couldn't comfortably have the window open. Secondary glazing would make a considerable difference to these rooms.
The bedroom was adequate, although parts were looking tired and showing signs of wear and tear. Two fans were provided, including a Dyson, but these created additional noise when trying to sleep.
We were also disappointed to discover a £10 parking charge for overnight hotel guests and an additional £5 charge to use the pool.
The parking policy seems particularly strange. Guests visiting the gym or having a meal can apparently receive up to four hours' free parking, yet guests paying to stay overnight are charged £10. In my opinion, overnight guests should receive complimentary parking as part of their stay. It seems the wrong way around to offer free parking to shorter-term visitors while charging those actually staying at the hotel.
Check-in is now via computer screens, which also makes the arrival experience feel much less personal than we remembered.
We had pre-booked dinner and specifically requested not to sit underneath speakers because elderly members of our party wear hearing aids.

I liked the venue as a whole, it was spacious and they had good facilities available
It looked clean but I later realised it wasn't as there were bugs in my room. According to staff, they were pea bugs. It was also very dark in the room except the bathroom. You had to have the blind up for there to be a decent amount of light which was inconvenient when getting changed/undressed as people could see into the room, as it was a electric car charging car park view.
Pool and gym great
Getting woken up at 5:35 am by an inconsiderate member of staff pouring glass bottles in to the bin about 5 times
The noise wasn’t needed at that time in the morning ruined the stay
Excellent across the board.. would definately return. Great food, lovely rooms & great service
Glass bins being collected or emptied at 6am.
Range of soft drinks on the menu. Need juice/kids drinks for room service too.
I love the food and they gave me king size love the bed ans the shower lovely honestly I will come here again
