Einzigartiges Erlebnis / Wunderschöner Ausblick
Pros:

Sehr schöne Anlage mit freundlichem Personal. Das Abendessen war super lecker. Die Aussicht am Pool und allgemein die Umgebung ist wunderschön. Wir waren leider nur eine Nacht hier. Die Zimmer sind sauber und schön. Wir haben sogar mehrfach einen Fuchs gesehen, der verweilte auf der Terrasse des Restaurants.

Cons:

Das Frühstück war okay aber nicht speziell. Wir hätten etwas mehr Auswahl auf der Karte erwartet.

Beautiful property, spectacular views, dine somewhere else for dinner vs at hotel

Breakfast was outstanding. Great selection, service very prompt and lovely setting. Hotel setting is stunning and the grounds amazing. Room was nicely appointed and very quiet.

Cons:

Dinner was a disappointment.. Server was not very helpful when we asked questions about menu offerings. And, main entre was brought literally 2 minutes after we ordered it with salad (starter) later. Made me wonder if food had actually been pre-cooked and then just reheated as it was served at microwave speed. Felt rushed and more cafeteria-like than a fine dining experience. Staff seemed inexperienced at dinner service. Would skip dinner here and arrange elsewhere as food was not very well prepared. Was bland. RE: hotel room, heat didnt work in room and had to request a space heater, and the rugs in the room were literally wet. We commented on this the next day at check out and the front desk person said yes, he knew that. I think it odd that the hotel would not attempt to dry out the room prior to a guest's use or ensure the rugs were dry. For a hotel of this caliber, there should be more attention to detail.

Everything!! The views! The spacious compound. The rooms. The hiking trails. The restaurant. The staff!!!!!

Cons:

Nothing. Everything was fantastic! Except that it was a bit nerve raking to drive up there! Roads very winding and narrow.

After staying at this Quinta, we feel like we were part of the Douro valley
Pros:

The location up in the hills overlooking the vineyards and the Douro River was perfect. The various walking trails with the audio tour made us feel like we were really part of the valley not just a passive tourist. The food in the restaurant was amazing as weak as the staff. Great bed and beautiful linens

This Might be the best view in all of the Douro
Pros:

Maybe the best view in all of the Douro?! The property of Quinta Ventozelo is so beautifully filled with intentional touches at every turn. It overdelivers for sure, even though the photos online are outstanding. The flowers and gardens are sublime. Walking the paths through the vineyards is stunning. We absolutely loved our two night stay. So relaxing. And the food and views from the restaurant were superb. We felt like everything was very fairly priced and that our expectations were exceeded at every turn. We did the afternoon picnic, which ended up being a highlight of our time there. We sat by the edge of the Douro in a very private spot all to ourselves, enjoying an epic picnic spread. GO to this place and stay. You will not regret it!

Cons:

Atendimento de vários funcionários. Muito antipaticos. Nos corrigiam o tempo todo, nos acusando de fazer algo errado. Diferente de outros lugares de Portugal, não me senti acolhida e bem vinda, me senti num local comercial apenas. O quarto é muito pequeno e o banheiro está dentro do quarto o que não fica claro na descrição do hotel e nas fotos. O preço para tudo isso é absurdamente caro. Outros hotéis em Portugal no mesmo preço são muito melhores.

Nice place but room way to small.
Pros:

The place is very special. Beautiful Quinta in a wonderful location, Great views from the swimming pool. Very good restaurant and breakfast. Most (not all) staff very nice and helpful.

Cons:

The room was not what I expected. Very small with the bathroom (very small) in the room. Very small window and very little space overall. Not at all in line with the value paid.

A wonderful, magical place to stay.
Pros:

Staying at Ventozelo was absolutely magical. The grounds are fantastic, the views spectacular and the staff are friendly and informative. The food was also very good at the restaurant. My only regret is not booking for 2 nights. There is a lot to experience on the property and you also get a larger, nicer room if you stay longer. We enjoyed hiking, the museum, driving around the property, the pool and the food. We didn't do any wine tasting or the river boat trip as we had already done that elsewhere... however, if I were to do the trip again, I would include those activities from this hotel, rather than booking separately.

Absolutely beautiful setting - friendly and very attentive staff, great restaurant, and amazing selection of wines of course! Genuinely very impressed overall.

Cons:

The room was a bit small, toilet was very small, and there wasn't anywhere to really work from in the room.
