Oleo Cancun Playa All Inclusive Resort

I am beyond disappointed with the service at Oleo Cancun. Three weeks ago, I booked an INSPIRA room, expecting a premium experience. 2 days later i had specific questions regarding another room category I saw in photos on TripAdvisor, which looked amazing, and I thought about switching. Communication was very fast (for Mexican standards, answer within 12 hours, wow! <3 ), which really impressed me, but the only responses from Raymundo Medina I received was 2 emails with generic one-sentence-standard templates. My actual questions about this room category (i even sent pictures to clarify) were completely ignored.

After attempting twice to get a real answer (I even wondered, if I was talking to AI), communication stopped entirely. No answers anymore.

Because of this lack of professional service, I decided to cancel my stay at Oleo — well within the official cancellation period.

Since then: still silence. no answers. I have sent several emails, submitted the required guest form on ateliers des hotels website again, and tried to reach Oleo, but it seems I am being ghosted. No confirmation, no response, no refund of deposit, nothing.

It is unacceptable to treat guests this way, especially those booking premium categories. I am now forced to involve my bank for a credit card chargeback.

I don’t leave reviews often but came here to say that my group of 14 friends and I had an absolute BLAST here. Laid back vibe, all different ages vibing by the beach and pool and just an overall awesome vibe! But the real reason I am here is to say that the Oleo staff ROCKS!!!! They work so hard, I saw the same staff doing so much day in and day out and they were always so genuinely kind and quick to go above be and beyond with a smile on their face!! I hope Oleo resorts pays them WELL and appreciates them becuase they are incredible! I wish I could remember all f them but all I remember is Felipe

My wife and I stayed at Oleo Cancun for 1 week and we had a very restful, comfortable stay. It is a bit smaller than some other resorts, but because of that we got to enjoy a relaxing experience with high quality of service. Additionally, no need to compete for sit-down dinner reservations like other resorts; we were always able to show up and get a seat very quickly.

We enjoyed the beach most days of our trip and the drinks from the pool bar, and the tacos and quesadillas from the beach cantina were delicious. Service around the pool and beach (shoutout to Sheila!) was also a great comfort during our stay.

Perhaps our biggest highlight was the Hakka restaurant. By the end of our trip, we made a point of showing up at opening time each night to grab our favourite window seats. The view from the restaurant was wonderful. The food, in particular the seafood dishes and rolls, were incredible, but we tried most items on the menu and many were 10/10. The Hakka Salad, Tempura Roll, Furai Roll, and the shrimp fried rice are must-haves. We enjoyed excellent cooking from Chefs Ofelia Olan and Victor, and were given incredible service from Alexa, Marcelino, and ESPECIALLY Crispin. On our final night there, we were very touched to receive an off-menu dessert that was as thoughtful as it was delicious.

We will be keeping our eye on Oleo Cancun for future vacations!

I visited hotel with my family. Hotel room was small however it was on high floor as requested with sea view. Bathroom was bigger than hotel room.

I visited all of the restuarants and the food is mediocre and bland in most.

Brown coffee shop is good. The desserts look nicer than they taste.

Please get off the resort and use R1 or R2 bus outside which stops at market 23 which is big and more affordable. Bus stops at other destinations.

The resort was busy and loads of people around the pool and beach. I used these once and its quiter in the morning. Crowded in the late morning and afternoon.

The room should be cleaned daily. The plates from the room service should be collected on same day or earliest time.

In my room we ran out of toilet roll. I asked 4 times and no toilet roll was offered. I had to ask the cleaner for toilet roll who was cleaning a nearby hotel room.

Lastly I saw flies in resturant which is a hygiene risk. We all had an upset stomache.

We had a great stay at the Oleo! The staff was incredible and everything was clean. We especially loved the Hakka restaurant for dinner, so much that we went 3 nights is a row. The sushi was great and Marciono and the rest of the staff was amazing. We would stay here again

Chef Ofelia was absolutely wonderful - she went above and beyond by creating special sushi rolls just for us. She was so kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. We also had such a lovely conversation with her and learned so much about Mexico and its beautiful culture. It made the experience feel so personal and unforgettable.

Chef Victor and Chef Olan prepared outstanding appetizers and hot dishes - everything was delicious! The edamame was a total hit, and we especially loved the yakimeshi mixto, the res mongol, and the ribs in Korean sauce. Each dish was full of flavor and beautifully prepared.

Our waiters, Marcelino and Crispin, were fantastic - attentive, helpful, and so fun to be around. They truly elevated the whole experience with their great energy and service! Gracias, amigos!

Alexa was also incredibly sweet, helpful, and just a joy to interact with. We wish her all the best in college - she’s going to do amazing things!

Overall, this team made our evenings so special. You can really feel the passion, care, and teamwork behind everything they do. Thank you all for such a memorable experience!

Small but perfect resort for 2 friends to relax and get a break from the cold winter in NL Canada. The room could use updating as well as a sitting space on the small balcony, but it was clean spacious and comfortable.
Food is great- enjoyed both restaurants and ate most meals at buffet. Really enjoyed eating all our meals at buffet outside with an ocean view. The staff are so friendly and can’t do enough for you. Special meal created by Chef Orlando at the Almar Restaurant and served by Angel, was outstanding! Loved the coffee bar with soft serve -yourself ice cream. Very little entertainment but fine for us who like to relax and play cards in the evenings while sipping on our favorite drinks. Dog-friendly too which we enjoyed.
Met some lovely people from the UK that we enjoyed. Beach wasn’t great with lots of seaweed but that was on Mother Nature, not the staff.
Could provide more shade on beach and by pools but the sun was lovely and warm. Would come back to this resort.

Lovely family stay at a nice hotel which needs a little bit of updating. We enjoyed our stay although it didn’t start well when the twin room we had booked was a double which couldn’t be changed as the hotel was fully booked. The staff were friendly, drinks well made and a good variety of food. Evening entertainment would have been a nice addition as the lobby bar lacked atmosphere.

We just returned from an unforgettable family vacation at Óleo Cancún Playa, and we can’t say enough about how amazing our experience was—it was truly a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (10-star!) experience!

Traveling with two boys who have celiac disease can be stressful, but from the moment we arrived, the team went above and beyond to make sure they were not only safe—but truly spoiled with unlimited delicious dining options. It gave us so much peace of mind and allowed us to fully relax and enjoy our time together.

The resort itself is stunning—perfect location, a beautiful beach, and everything you could possibly need. But what truly made this trip exceptional was the outstanding service.

A huge thank you to Ham, Max, Yeseli, Francisco, Philippe, and Gerry—all of your attentiveness and personal care blew us away. You didn’t just meet our needs, you anticipated them. You took the time to get to know us, and it made our experience feel so special and personal.

We also want to recognize the incredible leadership team: Julia, Jorge, Alexander (Hakka), Yobani (Almar), and a very special thank you to Chef Saul. Your efforts to ensure the entire resort staff was aware of our boys’ dietary needs meant the world to us. Because of you, our kids could safely enjoy the amazing cuisine just like everyone else—and that is something we will never forget.

This wasn’t just a vacation—it was a truly caring and inclusive experience. We are beyond grateful and can’t wait to come back to Óleo Cancún Playa!

Good location being at the south end of the isthmus so transfer to & from airport was very quick. Can’t fault the waiters, bar staff and cooks who were all very attentive and quick to assist. The hotel was stated as boutique 4 star however was probably a bit under this. The food in Azul was a bit same old with regards breakfast fruit and salad. It would have been good to see some changes through the week. However that said; the fruit and salad were fresh. Almar restaurant was disappointing with the only positive being the view. Beach was great with added waiter service. However…why do people stick their towels on loungers at 0700 when it is clearly stated not allowed but never enforced?! I observed instances where loungers were “reserved” all day with the towels being collected at 6pm with no-one using them. So in short - you fully get what you pay for with Oleo. It does the job but if you want to pay more for 4/5 star then there are other options.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this resort for 7 days and had an incredible experience from start to finish. One of the things we loved most was the size of the resort, it’s smaller (around 150 rooms), which gave it a much more personal and welcoming feel. By the end of the trip, we had gotten to know both the staff and other guests, which made the experience even more special.

The food exceeded our expectations every single day. There were three different options of places to eat for dinner each night, so we always had variety and never got bored. On top of that, there was a coffee shop and a snack bar open most of the day, both offering delicious options whenever we wanted something quick or casual.

The service was truly outstanding, every staff member we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. We genuinely have no complaints in that area.

We stayed in the Junior Sunset Suite so it looked out to the other side of the resort, beautiful view with a balcony, highly recommend. Our room was clean, comfortable, and recently renovated, which made a big difference. It felt modern and well-maintained, and housekeeping did a great job throughout our stay.

If anyone has any concerns about the food or wants more detailed information before booking, I highly recommend downloading the Oleo Playa app. It offers much more up-to-date and detailed information than the website, including menus and resort details, which we found really helpful.

Overall, this resort struck the perfect balance between relaxation and a welcoming, social atmosphere. We would absolutely come back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a more intimate, high-quality resort experience.

We had a perfect vacation at Oleo Cancun Playa. The resort was exceptionally clean, and everything was handled with great promptness, which made the entire stay feel seamless and relaxing. Check-in was quick and easy, and Marco gave us a fantastic initial tour that really set the tone for the trip.

The staff were truly lovely, and we especially want to recognize Francisco, who went above and beyond to make sure we never needed anything. His attention and service made a big difference in our experience.

Overall, a wonderful stay with excellent service from start to finish.

Just left the hotel today after a fabulous 9 day stay. We were all inclusive and stayed in an Inspira Superior Ocean View room. Ours had a balcony and it was amazing to sit out and soak up the sea air from the waves rolling in so close.
We were able to wake up to the sun rising over the carribean sea and kept the patio door open well into the night as it was such a warm breeze.
The room was a little tired in places but after the first morning we really didn't notice.
There are 5 places to eat including a pool bar. The main buffet style restaurant is the breakfast area and then one of the choices for the evening. We ate at the other two evening restaurants and had nice food at both.

As with alot of hotels we found that the food wasn't always hot - we like ours really hot so it is worth selecting food from the bottom of the servers as they're on hot plates.

There were wine refills a plenty and attentive service.

The Brown Bag is a great facility open from 7am until 11pm at night and serves coffees, paninis etc - closed on Sundays.

The pool area is not massive but the sun loungers are also on the beach aswell. We hired a cabana a couple of days @ £30 with the 20% Inspira Discount. It was well worth it to have shade and padded seats with lovely waiters who look after everyone.

The main bar has speedy attentive staff who filled our drinks before we even asked at times, there's no entertainment apart from a singer one night but it allowed for more relaxed chats with people from other countries etc.

The weekends have afew groups coming through which raised the tempo a little but we liked the energy. It quietened down after Sunday.

On the last day I booked a massage and facial at the spa. That's just a lovely environment and my treatments were fabulous.

We would love to return here, it was a great holiday experience and personally we felt it was good value for the experience.

Dining at Hakka was an absolute delight. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The food itself was outstanding—each dish beautifully presented

What truly elevated the experience, however, was the exceptional service provided by Marcelino. From the moment we arrived, he made us feel genuinely welcome. His attentiveness, professionalism, and knowledge of the menu ensured that every recommendation was spot-on.

It’s rare to encounter service that feels both seamless and heartfelt, but Marcelino delivered exactly that. He turned a great meal into a truly memorable dining experience.

✨ Highly recommend Hakka for anyone seeking not just incredible food, but also world-class service. Ask for Marcelino—you won’t be disappointed.

Had to put a review on here about restaurant Hakka - it absolutely stands out from the rest of the hotel. Fantastic staff and delicious food. Crispin and Marciano were amazing and attentive waiters - we couldn’t ask for better. They made our holiday very memorable. Excellent service.
