Hyggelig hotell med god frokost ligger litt utenfor Antibes så man må benytte buss el. bil. Hyggelig og hjelpsom betjening.
This hotel is very pretty , set on the Cap D’Antibes in a residential area. The pool is just the right size and temperature, the rooms; all different some small and some big, some with pool views. The breakfast was good value at €19 per person. The pool bar had lovely snacks and reasonably priced drinks. The staff were all friendly and knowledgable , shout out to Irish Gary for getting us extra milk most nights. Thank you for a brilliant week.
We enjoyed a lovely week in this pretty hotel. The staff were very welcoming and willingly recommended and booked delicious restaurants nearby and in Vieux Antibes for us, as well as highlighting local coastal walks. The pool was lovely and very clear - they clean it each night and the main hotel areas are always very clean.
We always found a sunbed round the pool; some areas are shadier than others as the sun moves round. There is a nice bar serving cocktails, other drinks and simple tasty snacks. Breakfast is also delicious however, overly expensive at 19 Euros per person. (There is a nice Boucherie around the corner if you want to purchase breakfast fare although it's also very expensive, and the nearby Brasserie Biscuit also does breakfasts. There is a limited mimi supermarket, a Spa, 10-12 minutes walk away. This is a roundabout way of saying we spent more on food than we had envisaged!)
Its quiet at night (its in a smart leafy residential area) and we found the beds very comfortable. Whilst the rooms were clean the balconies weren't swept so we kept bringing sand back into the room. Bizarrely neither of our rooms had bathroom doors and the toilet in my children's room literally faced the bed so when privacy was required the other person had to be on the balcony or use the toilets near reception. Mirrors are a little ad hoc - my children's room had a full length mirror, ours did not.
Excellent location - had we been in Vieux Antibes we might not have explored the beautiful Cap D'Antibes as much as we did as everything was easy to get to. The 2 local beaches (15 minutes walk) are pretty and sandy. We hadn't realised before booking that one of the, La Garoupe, is mainly a private beach during the key summer months which requires booking 3-4 days ahead and cost between 45-55 euros per day per person! The nearest public beaches are small. We found the public beach area in Juan Les Pins to be much larger and really lovely. The hotel has some beach umbrellas you can borrow. (Private beaches in Juan Les Pins are marginally cheaper but still overpriced so plenty of space).
Transport - we didn't hire a car. It takes about 35-40 minutes to walk to Juan Les Pins (particularly nice early evening/soft sunset) but you can get an Uber/Bolt - approx 10 -12 Euros depending on the time of day. There is a bus stop on the hotel's doorstep which gets you into Antibes which is super quick but its only once an hour and stops early in the evening so we tended to get a cab (12-15 euros depending on which part of Antibes) or walked - the views by Plage de la Salis, Plage due Ponteil are lovely.
We loved this hotel.
Cool laid back Miami boutique hotel vibes.
The hotel is nicely located outside Antibes and a bit more than 15 mins walk to the two beaches of Cap d’Antibes.
In retrospect the beaches in Juan-les-pins were just nicer and we will likely go there next time we will be in the area
About the hotel. The personnel is kind and friendly, but several downsides made our stay a 2/5:
1) a smell of mold in our room and strong smell coming from the bathroom
2) we were two families. One of the two rooms had no bathroom door (!) and water from the shower would immediately flow into the bedroom.
3) everything in our rooms and bathrooms seemed old
4) the pool is nice and clean, but
don’t get fooled by the pictures: during peak hours it was hard/impossible to find a sun-bed.
I can't give a higher review. This is not about the owner or the hotel. This is about the people that work there. 10/10. Highest service I have ever received. Made me rethink French service altogether. My girlfriend and I have decided to come back to Antibes JUST to visit this hotel and these folks.
Friendly, helpful and competent staff. We really liked the location (leafy affluent suburbs). Free on site or road parking. Our room was small but comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful (15€ pp). Lovely restaurant next door to the hotel. Walking distance to the beach. Hotel restaurant served very overpriced Aperol spritzers (14€ each) 😳
The hotel is quite far away from Antibes, and it is a walk (nice, but a proper walk) to the next beach. We had booked a room for a family (2 grown-ups with child), but upon check-in it turned out, that they had mistead/forgotten/ignored the request, and we had a double bedroom (very small) with a double bed (a very small one), and ni option to change room. We also disn’t receive an apology, or help in any way, e.g. With a matress for our daughter.
The room itself was tiny, but nice enough, with a nice balcony. Unfortunately it was turned towards their restaurant, and it was crazy loud until they closed - which was quite late.
Swimming pool was nuce, so was the breakfast area.
If you ask for a room away from the hotel, and double check if they really booked enough beds for you, it’ll probably be nice.
Very quiet. Excellent breakfast and pool area. Room was a little dated but clean with air conditioning. The option with a double bed and single bed had the single bed in a separate room with shared access to the bathroom, which was a little different to what we were expecting, but fine. Good location with bus link to Antibes and within walking distance of beaches. Would visit again.
Our family of five sampled five different rooms in a six-night stay (we
booked last minute so had to fit with what was available). This gave us a good overview of the rooms on offer here. They were last decorated in the 1980s
or 90s, from the look of them: very dated and not charming in the slightest, in my opinion. Fortunately the chambermaids do a very good job with what they have to work with, and the rooms are clean. Beds are surprisingly comfortable and also clean.
Some odd smells though: my first room and its little backyard smelt (and were) damp: number 2 reeked of cigarettes and alcohol and number 3 seemed to have been perfumed with aftershave. All very off putting.
Rooms are all very different in shape and size, no doubt because the building itself is old and rambling. Lots of stairs to drag your suitcase up and down
Very difficult to get swimsuits dry, let alone beach towels.
I would not come back because I found the place depressing.
Beautifully clean. Rooms small but fine. Didn't use the pool but looked very inviting. Staff very aimiable In a lovely area and on a bus route. Quite a few steps. Nice restaurant next door Le jardin. Good for lunch.
Stayed here with my two boys (11 and 12) before flying out of Nice the next morning. Clean and tidy hotel in a very upmarket area. About 15 mins walk to the nearest beach if you are so inclined but the pool was fine for me. Free wifi for my wifi starved children was a bonus. Easy parking either on site or on the street.
Drove into Antibes for dinner, Parked at a parking station right in town(I love the way no one seems to use parking stations, preferring to drive around endlessly looking for a spot, life is too short to save a few euros on that 🙂).
Lovely spot and I would stay there again tomorrow.
You get for what you pay in this hotel. It is a nice option when you're on a budget and you do not wish to spend 800€/night as in the others hotels in the area. The building is really beautiful but the rooms can be remodelled. Everything inside is really old and does not give a feeling of "clean". Other than that, the position of the hotel is excellent.
The hotel was easily accessible by public transport (number 2 bus from Antibes bus station, next to the train station). it is a family run hotel, very friendly and welcoming. The two former villas surround a swimming pool with adequate leisure space. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and had a range of English teas! It was served in a delightful courtyard. I stayed in a twin room with a friend and we had a small balcony with no view except bushes. other rooms had views over pool or courtyard. The en- suite room was comfortable with air con, very necessary in the hot summer heat.
