Thalassa Mahdia

You know what really angers me? They've watered down all the alcohol in the bar with water. It doesn’t matter whether it’s on the all-inclusive menu or if you pay extra. Yes, the hotel is at most three stars. It's old and in need of refurbishment. The food was average, plain, and boring. Okay, we didn't pay a fortune, and many things can be forgiven and overlooked. But seriously, managers??? This is outright scamming and criminal to dilute alcohol. You scammed your customers right in front of everyone. Nothing wrong with the rest of the staff, all were nice and polite.
It was my second and final trip to this country. No respect. At all.

Awful, unless you're French, forget it !!
Food abysmal warm, rarely hot. So bland, rejigged next day ie, meatballs, next day in a bland sauce, still inedible. Thank God for fries and rolls. Staff are OK, rooms and cleaners excellent apart from a 3ft drop stepping out of a slimline bath . Drinks are so chemical tasting when you get the correct one. Ask for vodka coke, get brandy and Fanta! They were working on steps to beack, so leaving a 5ft drop, so inaccessible. Plus a 2.5 hr transfer , never to go again, we knew mahdia was quiet but had 2 small grocery shops, 2 clothes shops, 1 money exchange and 2 chemists, few places to eat via taxi, more coffee lounges than eateries. You've been warned !

If you’re after a cheap but not cheerful holiday, Thalassa Mahdia is the place to go.

Not the place to be during Ramadan as it is very bare. Full of money leaches in and out of the hotel. Food is scarce, drinks are watered down immensely and if you’re not a big tipper then expect dirty looks and rude remarks.

Rooms are basic. Only French TV. Pool is freezing but the indoor pool is nice.

The atmosphere is again, full of French so as a British couple we was made to feel like outcasts.

The entertainment team and the excursion man is full of BS! Very rude and / or either over exaggerated. If you want excursions then venture out and find local ones as it’s cheaper! However there was only one or two members of staff that actually made an effort and try to give you a good “service” but the other members of staff will literally mock you and taunt you to your face thinking you don’t realise it. (See picture below; becarful of Robbie rotten… if you know you know)

The location is mediocre, nothing around. Best to stay in Sousse if you want markets and night life.

Very quiet hotel apart from French karaoke and French bingo…

I’m not usually a Debby Downer and we tried our best to make a have a nice time despite it all so if you’re just after a quick escape from reality then it’s ok but just beware.

Was also warned about bed bugs and scammers on the beach.

All in all; BEWARE.

I had a very pleasant stay at thalassa Mahdia hotel. The staff are friendly, helpful and always smiling, which makes guests feel welcome. The animation team is energetic and entertaining, offering fun activities during the day and night.

We had an absolutely brilliant time. The entertainment team were fantastic, especially rio and dudu who are very friendly and always helpful. We wipp be back agan. Thank you to ll the staff!

First time visiting Tunisia,people very friendly,cant do enough for you,hotel reception staff very friendly on arrival,explained everything really well,we changed our money up,note if travelling from Scotland change to English notes or euros as they wouldnt take Scottish notes,we phoned before and asked. Entertainment team have been fantastic dou dou and jamie and another guy,its very quite here at the moment but they make sure there things going on to keep you busy,cant do enough for you,they really deserve so much credit,along with the bar staff,restaurant staff,especially Ali who goes above and beyond and such a genuine friendly man who is very good at his job.Cleaners keep the hotel very clean aswel as the outside team who keep it all spotless. I think a coffee machine where you could help yourself would be a good idea,especially if you wake before breakfast and want a hot drink. Could do with some snacks around the bar area,maybe this happens in the busier months,but the winter months this would be good to,or even some vending machines where you could purchase. I think like alot have said hotel could do with a lick of paint,and rooms updated a little,because its a great hotel in a great location.

Our trip was fantastic , everybody at the hotel from ali the resteraunt waiter. To the bar staff all friendly , more so the entertainment Doudou and jimmy were brilliant keeping us on our toes, food was brilliant atmosphere brilliant.
Went on the day tour everyone great. Would definitely come back again.

Great hotel, friendly staff and has lived entertainment with doudou, weather was good for a small break in January too.

Me and my mate came here in the winter season still enjoyed our holiday very accomodating and made us feel very comfortable. Dou Dou especially was very accomodatinh and funny

The hotel was clean and the staff were excellent, they were very friendly and helpful right from the beginning. The hotel catered for mainly French and Arabic clientele but we were able to find something to suit our tastes at every meal. Overall a great experience.

Lovely clean hotel. Room was spacious with a great balcony view to the sea. Lovely beach on the doorstep. As the hotel wasn't busy it was always quiet which was perfect for a relaxing break. Very friendly and helpful staff. Evening entertainment was fun and the team led by Doudou got everyone involved. Food was very good but also seemed to improve when the hotel got busy towards the end of our stay, including snacks at the bar which weren't available for most of our stay. Supermarkets nearby sell everything you'd need. Excellent value for money. Only downside is the 2 hour bus transfer to and from the airport. However, would definitely visit again.

A very clean, tidy hotel. Food and service is excellent. Entertainment 100% both Smiley and Doudou are fantastic, they go out of their way to help you. Night time bar man Mr bombastic had drinks on tap!! Would definitely return.

A few shops just a short distance away from hotel that has everything you need. The hotel is literally on thd beach also!

My experience in Tunisia is been amazing. Thalassa Madhia is on a perfect location. The beach is absolutely gorgeous. The rooms are comfortable and the staff is very friendly and empathetic.
