Paper Thin Walls
Pros:

My stay at Luana was disappointing, primarily due to noise issues and how they were handled.

The walls are extremely thin, making it easy to hear conversations and movement from adjacent rooms and even from above. At around 2 AM, I was woken up by a loud knock from security responding to a noise complaint about my room. However, security was unable to identify any noise coming from my room—the only device on was my laptop at a low volume, and no TV was in use. After turning it off, I could still hear voices and noise, which were clearly coming from other rooms.

Being woken up in the middle of the night for a complaint that was not caused by my room was frustrating and avoidable, especially given how easily sound travels throughout the building.

I was also informed afterward of a “no noise after 10 PM” policy, which was never communicated prior to or during check-in. This lack of transparency is concerning, particularly since the hotel is located on a busy main strip where outside noise at late hours is common.

Unfortunately, staff were not helpful in addressing the situation and did not offer any meaningful resolution or acknowledgment of the inconvenience.

Overall, the experience felt unfairly handled and poorly managed.

Great location and view, but poor cleanliness.
Pros:

Great location, everything is within walking distance. Beautiful view from the room, quiet, and a nice balcony. WiFi. The room had a kitchen with utensils, and beach towels were provided.

Cons:

Cleanliness was poor (dust, dirty floors, stains, and even a dirty towel). We could hear a mouse or rat in the walls.

Highly recommend!
Pros:

The “cheaper” room I paid for felt like living in a suite. It had a fridge, sink, and a fully working oven. There was a balcony and a living room part of the room with a coffee table and a sofa. The air con worked. There were two occasions during my stay when the hotel offered free cheese and wine to guests, which was lovely. I got a free small shall necklace when I checked in, and a free raincoat when I checked out.

Cons:

The room was cleaned only every other day. A microwave might have been better than the oven.

Wonderful stay
Pros:

Great experience. The heated hotel pool is a huge plus especially in the winter and rainy days. I could comfortably swim with my kid. It’s also deep enough for an adult to actually swim. Pool deck and fitness center are very nice. Great location. Staff were very accommodating. Adopt a fish for the night and manager’s reception put this place over for me. I’d recommend it to all friends and family. Great Kamaaina rates.

Pros:

There is no justification for a $200 "resort fee". The nightly parking is ridicules ($55); (The City Bus is the best option); patrons still have to pay for washer and dryers; no breakfast accommodations nor is there are not shuttle service. The wine and cheese event held on M, W, F was cute.
