First time at The old Inn but definitely not the last. From entering th hotel to leaving it has been exceptional. We where there for a joint birthday celebration and they couldn't have done enough. Early check in, upgraded room, personalised 40th birthday card in the room along with some chocolate. We each had a massage in the spa and can honestly say that it is the best massage I have had. Katie was fabulous. She is so knowledgeable and lovely to talk to and then had me sleeping during my massage. Felt the stress Melting away. Will 100% be back and requesting her.
The Treetop Spa was really nice. Extra perk was being able to order drinks anywhere in the spa.
Dinner and breakfast were amazing. The venison was amazing.
The bar they had a singer on which was lovely. The Guinness was really good too.
This is a bit of a mixed bag so I will start with the positives. If you are looking a quaint couples stay then this is the place for you. Food was amazing, far better than the galgorm food and the staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. However I was there with someone who had limited mobility and I would not say this place was accessible. Car park was very small and busy, I couldn't see any disabled parking but maybe I missed it. Lots of up and down steps to bar and restaurant. We had an accessible room which had an excellent bathroom so that was good. Dogs are allowed in the hotel however be mindful that some dogs bark a lot so something to consider. Spa was small and actually didn't feel like it fitted with the atmosphere of the rest of the hotel but it is a new addition. I did mange to go out early in the morning and it was very peaceful. Drinks can be ordered via qr code but i tried to order a coffee and they weren't accepting orders at that time so that was disappointing. Overall it was a nice stay but not somewhere I would take a disabled person.
Had a wonderful spa day with my friends, The girls at reception were so lovely and friendly, my therapist was Katie, lovely girl very friendly, with many yrs of experience behind her, I had a back massage and facial after treatment I was so chilled and relaxed, my skin was glowing, will definitely be back to see Katie for more treatments x
Idyllic little hideaway tucked between Belfast and Banger. Met at the door by Stuart, greeted by an open fire and check in was warm, friendly and set the tone. The staff make this place, everyone so friendly and it all feels homely. Rooms spotless, really cosy and prefect for a recharge. Spa is nice feature and the ability to order drinks from
Anywhere is a nice feature. The relaxation room, warmed by a log burner looking out at the forest is a great switch off. (Possible maybe have a few more books available for guests to look at) The bar is full of character and the music at night was spot on and added to a lovely atmosphere. Breakfast the next morning, finished the stay off in style, really great fresh, healthy choices and really well presented and seating spaced out. We were both very impressed and we will be back. Just to note you will need plugs for chargers for rooms as there is no usb sockets (thanks reception for sorting this out)
Beautiful building from the outside and warm a welcoming staff, from reception to bar and waiting. First but definitely not the last stay here. Dog friendly, and I think our two dogs were made to feel as welcome if not more than us. Genuinely, any staff interaction we had was top class, from Gavin in the bar to the ladies on reception ( sorry we never got your names) and the rest of the waiting staff. We'll be looking forward to staying longer next time
This is the 3rd time we have stayed in The Old Inn & as usual everything was excellent from the front desk staff to the waiters bar staff & room cleaners could not have had a more memorable experience.
Exquisite hotel with fun amenities! We loved relaxing at the spa.
Had a lovely weekend at the old inn crawfordsburn enjoyed the spa the bar was homely the food both nights was excellent as was the breakfasts staff were friendly would definitely return
Lovely breakfast and friendly staff. Very relaxing stay.
Spa pool was always busy and same people stayed in it for over the 15 minutes stated. Should be timed or staff walking around checking it as couldn't get in the afternoon we were there. to later in evening at busy periods..
I had the most wonderful spa day yesterday with my friend, and I just had to share how amazing it was! My therapist, Lucy, was absolutely fantastic, so professional, friendly, and skilled. Her massage and facial were both of an exceptionally high standard, leaving me completely relaxed and refreshed.
You can tell she really cares about her clients and takes pride in her work. I would definitely recommend booking with Lucy, you won’t be disappointed! I’ll definitely be returning soon.
Went for Sunday lunch (X2 adults, X1 child) at a later serving to ensure it wasn't too busy. Had to wait to get seated even though we arrived at the time of our reservation. Main course was just a about acceptable. To note Yorkshire Pudding tasted unpleasant like a wet cloth and the kids option lacked any presentation and featured a sea of salty fries which was disappointing as added salt should always be a choice especially for kids!!!
The main issue was the service....had to ask multiple times where our drinks were and then had to wait 45 MINUTES between getting the table cleared and being able to get our dessert order taken. By this point it wasn't even busy and we had piled our plates up at the side of the table to give the hint we were finished. After 45mins and multiple times of asking for a dessert menu and getting ignored we were getting ready to leave when finally someone took our dessert order. After another 20mins wait dessert arrived. Kids cookie was inedible again tasting like a damp cloth. Apple crumble also inedible so needless to say after spending over £100 on lunch we will not be back.
Quality of service has definitely declined after change in management. Disappointing!!
My wife ad I have just returned from an overnight stay in the Old Inn where we enjoyed a fabulous minibreak. Having access to the spa, which is well equipped with all expected facilities, from midday was a bonus.
The hotel's main asset is the staff - on check-in and check-out, the staff were so welcoming and helpful, all staff in the bar, restaurant for dinner and at breakfast were so courteous and helpful, providing a very high level of service. I had reason to contact the manager, Joanne, (something to do with me and not the hotel) and she was exceptionally professional and helpful. Sincere thanks, Joanne.
We had a splendid meal in the main restaurant. We had 3 mouth watering dishes - I had the scallops with black pudding and buttermilk potato, followed by Venison with pickled blackberries and gingerbread, while my wife had the herb-crusted salmon. All dishes were extremely tasty, so hats off the the chef!
Our room - The Oak Room - was perfect, warm, comfortable and spotlessly clean.
I would highly recommend The Old Inn to anyone considering a visit and I know we will be definitely be returning.
Thanks to all for a great stay.
This was our second time staying at the old inn Crawfordsburn , this time it was for my husband’s birthday. We stayed in the suite both times as we enjoy the facilities especially the hot tub. This time I decided to get a facial and full body massage as I was under a lot of stress. Well I got a girl called Katie who was absolutely amazing, she started off finding out about me and my medical details. Katie made me feel at ease and she was amazing at her job she had magic hands which I was grateful for and by the end of the treatment we felt like we had been friends for a long time. I came out of the spa feeling like I was on cloud nine . The food and spa facilities were outstanding . The staff go above and beyond I would definitely recommend this place , well done to everyone at the old inn and thank you for a wonderful stay.
Alberta and Hugh.

We had the best time away with my boyfriend, it was his birthday and the team made everything very special for our weekend. The facilities were amazing and the food was incredible. Would 100% recommend and will return.
