This is my fourth time here and I always love coming back! The beach bar has been renovated and looks absolutely stunning. The food is even better this year – a real delight!
I especially want to praise the staff: everyone is fantastic, always friendly, helpful, and truly dedicated. I always feel welcomed here.
The hotel garden is beautiful and the location is perfect – restaurants and supermarkets are just nearby. Everything is within easy reach, yet the atmosphere remains calm and relaxing.
Thank you once again for another wonderful experience! I will definitely be back ❤️
We travelled in October for 1 week on all inclusive board, 2 famillies with 2 teenagers. All inclusive beverages very limited choices, local alcoholic drinks ouzo, raki, one type of brandy, wine and beer. No other spirit drinks for cocktails unless you pay extra.
The rooms have basic comfort, definitely not 4*, additionally you need to pay for pool towels on daily basis €2.5 /towel, if you should need to change towels extra fee applies. There is a beach near by, but the hotel charges will apply on daily basis for sunbeds and umbrellas, €3/sunbed /day in out of season.
Food reasonable good but limited on choices, swimming pools very small with limited sunbeds, beach unkempt, dirty and several risks of hazards if travel with small children.
Overall, this hotel is mainly for elderly people with minimal requests and basic services.
Read hotel description and be aware of city tax that you might be charged upon arrival, that is not mandatory, otherwise should have been included in the package price.
Only good reviews can be attributed to the staff, they are very friendly, polite and helpful.
We arrived early in the morning and, although the check-in officially starts at 3 PM, we were kindly offered a temporary family room. This was a very thoughtful gesture from the hotel, as it allowed us to rest after the trip and compare different room standards.
The family room was extremely spacious, consisting of two separate bedrooms, two toilets and one shower. From the very first moment, we noticed how clean it was. Later, after the room exchange, we also received a large double room with a beautiful sea view.
Even though the hotel is not labeled as “luxury,” the staff does everything to make guests feel like they are staying in one.
The cuisine truly deserves a special highlight! The food is absolutely delicious, fresh, minimally processed and full of natural flavor. I have never eaten so well and so healthily in a hotel before. Huge compliments to the chef – he is outstanding!
Sometimes you may need to wait a short while to get a table, especially during peak times, but this was never a problem for us.
The staff has been working here for many years, which creates a warm, family-like atmosphere. The bar service is also excellent – great drinks and amazing people. Special greetings to Dimitris! 🍹
The hotel is surrounded by lots of greenery and offers peaceful spots to relax. It also makes a perfect base for exploring nearby attractions.
In conclusion: Jo An Beach is a place where you can truly rest and feel special. Thank you for a wonderful holiday!
Great hotel with a great restaurant and a pool bar. The hotel is located by the beach, which is excellent for us. The staff is helpful, kind and friendly. We recommend it!!!
Well organised and clean rooms. The food was warm, tasty, variety and always enough. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is situated on a private beach with pebbles and flat rocks, so swimming shoes are recommended. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available for an additional charge. The staff at the reception, restaurant, and bar are very friendly and polite. The food is varied and delicious. The rooms are simple but clean. A bus stop to Rethymno is located close to the hotel. There is almost no animation, except for one Greek evening per week, which was not a problem for us — we preferred walking along the beach or playing board games. We enjoyed our stay at Jo A Beach Hotel, thank you!
Hotel is clean and tidy. Staff was kind and friendly. Restaurant is fantastic, food was delicious and offer was large. Chef is kind and friendly. We enjoyed our stay, I would recommend
Our son is allergic for gluten. The service in the restaurant for explaining and ordering glutenfree food was excellent. Also was someone to help with requests about allergic food in the restaurant at every meal.
Hotel was amazing and so was the sea, however its not really kids friendly couse of the huge waves. Highly recomend swimming shoes. Both of the pooly were warm and very fine allthough if you wanted to have sunbed by the pool you had to wake up early. You can also buy the sunbeds on beach or take a towel. The food was Amazing and so was the chef who was always ready to help me as I am gluten free. There was always food to choose from and if not, he prepared me pizza or pasta of some kind. Big Thanks to him and the staff. Hotel is gluten free friendly.
We had a fantastic stay at Jo An Beach! You can't beat the direct beach access, and the fact that it's ideal for smaller kids made our trip so relaxing. With two great pools and delicious food, there was always something tasty to enjoy. What really made our vacation, though, was the super nice staff – they were always friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Highly recommend!
I don't know why there are so many bad reviews. The walls might be a bit thin, but I love the old-fashioned feel. You can see that in the online pictures, so it's your own fault. The hotel is the best we've stayed in so far, and we've only had good hotels in Greece.
Plan on spending around €30-40 (round trip) for the trip into town (as a family) for a 10-day stay.
Extremely nice and friendly staff, as well as incredibly good service. Huge praise goes to: -Kristalenia - Aga. Further praise goes to: -Dimitris -Manolis -Dimitra - Head Chef. These are by far the friendliest, most accommodating, and nicest staff I've met in my eight times in Greece. We'll definitely be back.
We have been to this resort for the second time and both times it has been fantastic. The rooms are very nice and serviced everyday. The breakfast staff and bar staff are a real credit to the resort and always make one feel welcome, great service. The food seemed to be better than last year and I give the Executive Chef, Fortis Liapis many praises for the variety of different dishes every day. The only down side I would mention is the size of the breakfast and dinner room which could be bigger to accommodate all the hotel guests. The new seafront bar area is also a great plus and is really well run by the friendly barman Dimitri. Of course the great weather and this very good resort on the beach makes a very memorable stay and we will certainly return a 3rd time soon. Cheers John and Family.
Good beach hotel, adequate quality, but nothing exceptional except the kitchen. The food was really good and wide choice. We loved the chef Fotis liapis.
Extremely disappointing experience – not a 4-star hotel
This hotel was a major letdown. While a few staff members were polite, overall there was a serious lack of personnel for the number of guests. Only one out of three restaurants was open during peak season, resulting in long lines and long waits for a table. The restaurant staff was often unfriendly and showed clear favoritism, which made the atmosphere unpleasant.
Our room was missing basic items like toilet paper and towels, and we had to collect them from the reception. Housekeeping and laundry services were clearly overwhelmed. The room itself was outdated, with a moldy shower and unreliable hot water.
The beach is unsafe, with hidden concrete blocks in the water – definitely not suitable for children. Despite being advertised as family-friendly, there was no real entertainment or activities for kids.
While the pools and beach bar are newly built, capacity does not match the number of guests. In the evenings, waiting up to an hour for a drink was normal. Even under the all-inclusive plan, guests had to pay extra for bottled water, beach towels, and sunbeds, which were also limited.
This hotel does not deserve its 4-star rating, and I unfortunately cannot recommend it. I’ve never been so disappointed with a hotel stay.
The room and the bathroom is max 2 star but the food is 9/10. I don't coming back here, never again!!!..........................
The food was genuinely delicious — far better than we expected from a hotel buffet!
We know that hotel food in Greece isn’t always the highlight of the stay, but here it really stood out. Thanks to Chef Fotis, the buffet meals were consistently tasty, fresh, and well-prepared. You can really see his skill and passion in the way the dishes were made. If the hotel keeps Chef Fotis, we’d gladly choose the all-inclusive option again — which we usually avoid elsewhere.
The hotel also has a great location, right by the sea, with direct access to the beach.
The air conditioning in every room worked perfectly, which was a big plus during the hot days.
The staff were very friendly and responsive throughout our stay.
Super friendly staff who are quick to respond and solve any issue, right next to the beach with direct access, right in the center of the resort, and the best, most varied food I’ve ever had. The food is absolutely delicious!
Excellent food, very delicious buffet dinner, various main dishes, fresh fruits every day. No matter if you arrive late. Thanks to Mr Fotis Liapis, executive chef & staff.
Super thankful for the EX Chef Folis Liapis at the restaurant. He really took care of my gluten intolerant daughter all week by serving her supper good food. It’s a pleasure to meet a chef like that. The rest of the family was also very happy and thankful for a super holiday at the hotel.
Perfect place, location , friendly stuff, fresh and various food. Close to the bus stop and little boutiques.
They are cleaning everyday, so you have clean rooms after your beach stay.
I was enjoying fresh and healthy food. Plenty of choise.
