The service was excellent.
Very close to the beach — just one block away.
Communication with the front desk was easy, and Julie was very warm, accommodating, friendly, and reliable. She also helped us keep our bags since our flight was later in the day.
This is a really nice hotel, the staff is welcoming, the rooms are well kept and the hotel is walking distance from the beach and all the restaurants.
This property initially felt like everything I love about Art Deco hotels in Miami. The size was perfect, the check‑in area was intimate and welcoming with palms and greenery, and the room was clean and exactly as pictured. Unfortunately, that’s where the positive part of our stay ended.
When we arrived, there was no valet attendant at the stand. The sign clearly states that if no one is present, guests should go to the front desk for assistance. So we did exactly that—left the car in front of the valet stand, grabbed our bags, and went inside. The front desk agent immediately asked if we had a car to valet. We said yes. He told us it would be $53 per night, and we agreed. That detail matters.
We completed check‑in, reminded him again about the car, and went to our room. Later that evening, I received a notification from my car app that my battery was dead. It turned out the hotel had towed my car from the valet area. They claimed we never told them we had a car, that they didn’t have a key or tag, and that they “looked for us for hours.” Neither my cousin nor I had any missed calls to support that story.
To make matters worse, staff lied to the manager during the investigation, saying they never discussed valet with us and never quoted the nightly rate—both of which absolutely happened.
My husband communicated with an off‑site manager who was dismissive, unhelpful, and at times offensive. I didn’t expect luxury‑level service, but I did expect basic accountability. Instead, we received a $250 credit (the towing AND ticket was around $575) with no apology and no real attempt at service recovery.
We spent hours of our one full day in Miami dealing with retrieving the car from the tow yard and driving it around to recharge the battery. The experience completely overshadowed what should have been a simple, enjoyable stay.
Based on the service alone, I would never return to this hotel.
Hidden Fees and Lack of Basic Amenities – A Major Disappointment
I cannot justify giving this hotel a positive rating. After prepaying $4,500 for my stay, I was hit with an additional $680 in hidden fees upon arrival. These charges were ostensibly for "Wi-Fi and Gym access," which is absurd considering the hotel doesn't even have a gym. Upon request they give cards to a Gym located 1000 yared from the hotel in limited hours
The room itself was highly disappointing:
No Workspace: The room is cramped and lacks a functional desk. The existing table is uncomfortable, and there are no accessible power outlets to charge a laptop.
No Coffee: There is no coffee machine in the room and no coffee service available in the hotel. You have to leave the property and find a coffee shop just to get a morning cup.
Misleading Location: "Beach access" is actually a 300-yard trek.
Between the cramped quarters and the predatory fees, this stay felt less like hospitality and more like a trap.
The words "costumer service" "care," "humanity," and "compassion" are not in their vocabulary
BEWARE.
Le patio bar en bas de l’établissement propose des produits tout à fait adaptés. L’accueil est sympa et il y a des produits frais.
Il n’y a pas d’espace bureau, ni de chaise dans la chambre.
We booked a Roof Suite Terrace at the Greystone for our last night in Miami Beach. The hotel is perfect if you don't plan to spend most of your time at the beach, as it's a block back. The rooms have a clean, minimal design, and the Malin+Goetz toiletries are a nice touch.
Now, the experience went something like this: "Wow, what a room!" Then we spotted the spiral staircase. "Oh wait, there's more?" Up we went to discover our private rooftop with a hot tub overlooking the area. Genuinely great moment!
Then the carpet got pulled. The minibar area - shown fully stocked on their website - was an empty fridge (two bottles of water were given at check-in). No coffee maker, no nothing. My wife asked about coffee and was told they don't have any, but could provide a kettle for hot water. So off to CVS across the street for a $60 bottle of wine, amongst other things. Back in the room, we found a corkscrew - promising! - but no wine glasses (they are shown on their website, too). The front desk suggested we use the water glasses. Uhm, no! Another trip downstairs to sort that out. We're in our 40s at an adult-only hotel, and somehow we're solving young adult problems like "who's doing the booze run."
Dear Greystone team: seriously, you've got such an asset here. The room, the rooftop, the design: it's all there. We received easily ten emails before our arrival, all along the lines of "let us know if there's anything we can do." Not one of them hinted that essentials simply weren't there. I usually reply to these emails when I have a genuine special request, but it would never cross my mind to tell a 4* leisure (!) hotel that I'd like wine glasses in one of their most expensive room categories (north of USD 1'100 a night, all in).
We appreciate understated luxury, but this level of understatement was a bit too much. Fix it, and we'll be back when in Miami Beach - and bring our friends along, too.
Everything was absolutely perfect about this place! The staff was super friendly and the rooftop bartenders were amazing. The rooms were cleaned everyday and the whole facility was clean. This place is so good I almost hate giving it a good review because then it will be more popular lol. Thank you hotel Greystone for a relaxing vacation! Keep up the good work!
I would like to say, thank you Julie, at the front desk of Greystone, I would like to say how much I appreciate your help and kindness with me.

I made plans to go to Ultra a bit last minute, limiting my hotel selections due to both bookings and increased cost. I ended up forgoing my usual Amex Platinum booking for an Expedia package and hoped for the best.
From the moment I checked in, it was clear the Greystone operates on a level of hospitality that feels increasingly rare. I had arrived well before 4pm on a few hours of sleep and when I asked about an early check-in, I was given a complimentary upgrade that gratefully was ready. This type of service is anticipated (but not guaranteed) through direct Amex bookings with certain luxury hotels. Anyone familiar with Expedia and other third-party booking sites will probably appreciate the anecdote. I am sorry that I did not recall the name of the gentleman at reception but would like to recognize him.
I intentionally booked an art deco boutique hotel since I was in Miami. I had previously stayed at the Confidante (now rebranded as the Hyatt Andaaz) year over year and was very sad to see how it was renovated. I love the charm of older hotels so I knew what to expect. I was given a penthouse with an outdoor space/hot tub in the Courtyard building. The room was very tastefully designed and I loved the accordion glass doors! I was able to transform it into a really lovely indoor/outdoor space. I appreciated the multiple seating options outside (and the towel dressing the loungers). The hot tub was amazing. I have to also note the bed and pillows were the most comfortable I've experienced traveling - even more than at the Langham or Peninsula.
I had no issues with noise levels, but I live in downtown Chicago and am probably pretty tolerant. Miami is boisterous and the rooms aren't soundproof but I wouldn't fault the Greystone for that. I just used noise canceling earbuds on the patio to zone out. The room itself has both black out curtains and sheers which were separately appreciated. I had no issues with Wifi.
I never went to the pool or the beach, so I can't comment on that. I did however visit Kobo daily for coffee and snacks. Service at Kobo was also incredible, food was great, and every employee I encountered there and in the hotel seemed genuinely happy to work here. I hope that the owners continue to invest in this because it made my stay incredibly pleasant.
Marcos at reception was able to accommodate a late check-out for me since my flight is this afternoon. I have to again note that this is an anticipated benefit of Amex Platinum bookings and NOT Expedia. It ended my trip on a high note that I believe reflects Greystone's hospitality standards.
I'm glad to have found a replacement for the Confidante for my future trips to Miami. I'd love to thank all of the staff for making this a great experience for me. I'd book a return here outside of attending events and look forward to coming back in the future.
Location is perfect. Restaurant and bars very nice. Our room was very small without much of a view and next to an elevator. Street noise was loud late at night.
L’emplacement est parfais
La chambre pour 3 n’est pas très spacieuse
Lovely experience. A few steps from the beach, they have a beach point that made all the difference. The room is spacious and the bed is incredible.
