Perfect stay
Pros:

We chose the hotel for its proximity to the Miami Convention Center. It was very convenient and centrally located, with easy access to the expo, restaurants, and the beach. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the room was comfortable. My only suggestion would be to add a coffee/tea kettle in the room. Otherwise, having a coffee shop on the ground floor was super convenient.

Beautiful Restoration... Wonderful Hospitality
Pros:

I love the historic Art Deco hotels that began appearing in the 1930s, and I greatly appreciate the preservation movement that kept the wrecking ball at bay so we can continue to enjoy these architectural treasures... a wonderful celebration of our past.

Originally built in 1939, this hotel had fallen into disrepair before undergoing a meticulous restoration and reopening as a boutique hotel in 2021. This was my first visit since its rebirth, and I'm happy to report that the place looks fantastic. Equally impressive were the employees we encountered throughout the property, all of whom were accommodating, personable, and genuinely welcoming.

My first stop was Cafe KoBo, a small, almost secret spot tucked away in the back of the hotel with a lovely patio. They offer breakfast and lunch items, coffee drinks, and more. This is exactly the type of place where I could see myself relaxing with a morning coffee before starting the day. The espresso they use is excellent.

In addition to making us a terrific smoothie, Fred answered all of our questions about the hotel, which gave us a better appreciation of it's history. Cafe KoBo is truly a hidden gem that locals should know about.

Only later did I learn that Fred is one of the hotel's senior leaders, which made his hands-on approach even more impressive. It's the kind of personal touch that tells you a lot about the culture they're creating here.

Next, we made our way up to the rooftop pool for cocktails... after all, it was happy hour! Jose G., who tends bar there, is engaging and makes a great Margarita. Between the music, sunshine, and relaxed atmosphere, it's a wonderful place to sit back and enjoy life for a while.

Before leaving, we stopped at the Greystone Bar, just off the lobby. It's a classy, comfortable space that perfectly complements the hotel's vintage charm. I also had a chance to peek into their adjacent signature restaurant, Serevene. Really nice room, the menu looks fantastic... it's definitely on my list for a future visit.

What impressed me most was the people. Every employee we encountered was warm, engaging, and eager to help. They make you feel less like a guest and more like a welcomed friend. I especially appreciated the hotel's unpretentious atmosphere... something that can be difficult to find these days.

This hotel beautifully honors its past while delivering the comfort and hospitality today's travelers expect.

My next Miami Beach stay will be here.

Awful
Pros:

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Greystone in hopes to relax and enjoy Miami. Not only is the hotel ridiculously noisy, but it happened to be raining and the Hotel including rooms were flooded. I have never experienced anything like it. My neighbor’s room had water running from under their door. I shared various concerns with the front desk and asked to speak to the Manager. The front desk was non apologetic, didn’t care and told us that the Manager was not willing to speak to guests.
We tried the breakfast take out which was no better than a poor deli. Old pastries and over done bananas.
Will never recommend or stay again!

Cool boutique hotel
Pros:

Very close to beach and in walking distance to everything you want to see in Miami Beach. The room was quite small (but perfectly formed) - there is a really nice vibe here and the staff are great. Lots of cool features here and the roof top pool and bar was great to escape the hot city streets.

Great Bang For Your Buck!
Pros:

I would like to say that an amazing experience at Hotel Greystone. The hotel offered a safe and clean space. The location was within walking distance of amazing restaurants and shopping. The staff was professional, accommodating, and friendly. There is construction across the street, but the noise was not unbearable. I will definitely be going back to Hotel Greystone when returning to Miami.

Communication with the front desk was easy, and Julie was very warm, accommodating, friendly, and reliable. She also helped us keep our bags since our flight was later in the day.

Nice Hotel and location...HORRIBLE customer service experience
Pros:

This property initially felt like everything I love about Art Deco hotels in Miami. The size was perfect, the check‑in area was intimate and welcoming with palms and greenery, and the room was clean and exactly as pictured. Unfortunately, that’s where the positive part of our stay ended.

When we arrived, there was no valet attendant at the stand. The sign clearly states that if no one is present, guests should go to the front desk for assistance. So we did exactly that—left the car in front of the valet stand, grabbed our bags, and went inside. The front desk agent immediately asked if we had a car to valet. We said yes. He told us it would be $53 per night, and we agreed. That detail matters.

We completed check‑in, reminded him again about the car, and went to our room. Later that evening, I received a notification from my car app that my battery was dead. It turned out the hotel had towed my car from the valet area. They claimed we never told them we had a car, that they didn’t have a key or tag, and that they “looked for us for hours.” Neither my cousin nor I had any missed calls to support that story.

To make matters worse, staff lied to the manager during the investigation, saying they never discussed valet with us and never quoted the nightly rate—both of which absolutely happened.

My husband communicated with an off‑site manager who was dismissive, unhelpful, and at times offensive. I didn’t expect luxury‑level service, but I did expect basic accountability. Instead, we received a $250 credit (the towing AND ticket was around $575) with no apology and no real attempt at service recovery.

We spent hours of our one full day in Miami dealing with retrieving the car from the tow yard and driving it around to recharge the battery. The experience completely overshadowed what should have been a simple, enjoyable stay.

Based on the service alone, I would never return to this hotel.

BEWARE
Pros:

Hidden Fees and Lack of Basic Amenities – A Major Disappointment
I cannot justify giving this hotel a positive rating. After prepaying $4,500 for my stay, I was hit with an additional $680 in hidden fees upon arrival. These charges were ostensibly for "Wi-Fi and Gym access," which is absurd considering the hotel doesn't even have a gym. Upon request they give cards to a Gym located 1000 yared from the hotel in limited hours
The room itself was highly disappointing:
No Workspace: The room is cramped and lacks a functional desk. The existing table is uncomfortable, and there are no accessible power outlets to charge a laptop.
No Coffee: There is no coffee machine in the room and no coffee service available in the hotel. You have to leave the property and find a coffee shop just to get a morning cup.
Misleading Location: "Beach access" is actually a 300-yard trek.
Between the cramped quarters and the predatory fees, this stay felt less like hospitality and more like a trap.
The words "costumer service" "care," "humanity," and "compassion" are not in their vocabulary
BEWARE.

Spectacular room, but little frills
Pros:

We booked a Roof Suite Terrace at the Greystone for our last night in Miami Beach. The hotel is perfect if you don't plan to spend most of your time at the beach, as it's a block back. The rooms have a clean, minimal design, and the Malin+Goetz toiletries are a nice touch.

Now, the experience went something like this: "Wow, what a room!" Then we spotted the spiral staircase. "Oh wait, there's more?" Up we went to discover our private rooftop with a hot tub overlooking the area. Genuinely great moment!

Then the carpet got pulled. The minibar area - shown fully stocked on their website - was an empty fridge (two bottles of water were given at check-in). No coffee maker, no nothing. My wife asked about coffee and was told they don't have any, but could provide a kettle for hot water. So off to CVS across the street for a $60 bottle of wine, amongst other things. Back in the room, we found a corkscrew - promising! - but no wine glasses (they are shown on their website, too). The front desk suggested we use the water glasses. Uhm, no! Another trip downstairs to sort that out. We're in our 40s at an adult-only hotel, and somehow we're solving young adult problems like "who's doing the booze run."

Dear Greystone team: seriously, you've got such an asset here. The room, the rooftop, the design: it's all there. We received easily ten emails before our arrival, all along the lines of "let us know if there's anything we can do." Not one of them hinted that essentials simply weren't there. I usually reply to these emails when I have a genuine special request, but it would never cross my mind to tell a 4* leisure (!) hotel that I'd like wine glasses in one of their most expensive room categories (north of USD 1'100 a night, all in).

We appreciate understated luxury, but this level of understatement was a bit too much. Fix it, and we'll be back when in Miami Beach - and bring our friends along, too.

Best place in Miami!
Pros:

Everything was absolutely perfect about this place! The staff was super friendly and the rooftop bartenders were amazing. The rooms were cleaned everyday and the whole facility was clean. This place is so good I almost hate giving it a good review because then it will be more popular lol. Thank you hotel Greystone for a relaxing vacation! Keep up the good work!
