Beach Terrace is our go to place. Intimate and relaxing. On the beach and in Carlsbad Village. Super friendly people. Short walk to shopping, restaurants and the Coaster.

Beach Terrace Inn offers exceptional service and amenities, making it an ideal getaway for both families and couples. The beds and pillows are wonderfully comfortable, and the rooms are spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully appointed. What truly sets this property apart from other Carlsbad hotels is the pool overlooking the beach — a rare and memorable feature. Guests can enjoy the ocean either directly on the sand or from a cozy lounge chair on the pool deck, complete with inviting fire pits that keep the coastal breeze at bay.

The room was beautiful, big, and confortable. They also have lot of tiny perks and surprises there. All the experience is very well curated. Even the breakfast is simple, but cute and delicious. The beach service and the pool service it's excellent.

We stayed in a poolside cabana room, and it was amazing. The staff was so kind and helpful. The breakfast was perfect, and all of the pool/beach amenities were so wonderful. I wish we could have stayed longer!

Friendly, professional staff who each took care and pride in their work, from housekeeping to concierge services. Very clean facility - even the pool was cleaned daily.
Location right on the beach with the sea breeze, sound of the waves, and quiet with the village a block away. Our room was directly above the pool and even with families, the noise was minimal.
Umbrellas, beach chairs, towels, etc for the beach & pool. Wool surfer ponchos in the rooms & woolen throws near the fire pits. Body and side sleeper pillows available on request. Muffins and coffee in the lobby each morning. They even provided secure storage for our e-bikes!
This was a wonderful getaway for the 2 of us and the families we saw also had a great time.

This beachfront property is truly special. I learned each room was originally an apartment, which explains the generous space and the private balconies overlooking the ocean. Everything is clean, comfortable, and feels genuinely homey.
The hotel features its own pool and fire pits with stunning ocean views, plus private beach access with all the amenities you’d want. Breakfast is included and stands out as healthy, fresh, organic, and high quality.
What really sets this place apart is the hospitality. The staff is incredibly friendly, and you get a very personal, boutique-style experience. With fewer than 50 rooms, the atmosphere feels intimate and relaxed.
Another big plus is the location: it’s within walking distance to Carlsbad Village, with plenty of great restaurants and shops nearby. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful yet convenient beachfront stay.

This is a wonderful overall boutique hotel. All the staff is professional and pleasant! The beach location is the best in the area. We had Dolphin and seal sightings from the pool & beach. The rooms are big and the breakfast is unique and delicious! I’ve stayed here twice and will stay again in the future!

This place is amazing, location is superb steps to sand, i love the beach umbrellas and amenities in this resort. The breakfast was amazing! Deliciously healthy as well! Love that every spot in this hotel is a relaxing space with view . I wish i could have stayed longer.

Awesome room right on the beach. Hotel was clean and comfortable. All staff were helpful and friendly. Very well run hotel.

The location is unmatched! On the beach and near the village. They are so nice and accommodating. They have tons of beach toys and boogie boards for the kids. We loved the pillow menu too. The “petite” breakfast is a great size and delicious. We had the best time.

Location is amazing. Easy walking to restaurants and downtown while directly on the beach. Other places we have stayed at you have to walk across the street and down a ton of stairs but this was amazingly convenient. They set up chairs and umbrellas on the beach for you, have towels and sand toys, beach volleyball and football to play with as well as body boards for the family. They have robes for the beach and even slippers for the room. We were impressed with the breakfast options and set up. Not the typical hotel breakfast. Creative, healthy and plenty of options for a nice easy breakfast. My only negative thing to say (if I had to come up with one) was being below the lobby and hearing the employees walking back and forth getting ready for breakfast very early in the morning. Other than that, very nice time.

The staff were great and the place was beautiful! Kids loved it! The room was spacious, the views spectacular, and the little cabanas on the beach were perfect. I loved that there were toys we could just borrow and use. We were there for St.Patricks day and the "grab and go" bar was in theme, making us all smile. I was expecting Yoplait and bananas, but it was very well curated breakfast items that felt special on their own.

Lots of restaurants nearby and close to Legoland which was nice for small kids. Would recommend!
