Service was not good, god music blurring at breakfast, food was shocking and our villa needed alot of touch ups! Curtains that didnt close all the way, door had a massve gap in it
The service was what really stood out. Everyone was genuinely caring and kind. We were greeted with a big smile and a quick chat every morning and along the day.
The location is great on the west side of Rarotonga. Lots of restaurants and bar around and the lagoon right in front of the hotel.
Great location - quiet restful - accomodation was great - close to the beach - food was really good - value for money - perfect for a weeks vacation
We have just had our 3rd stay at Crown Beach Resort, and intend to keep returning annually, if not more often.
We always stay in a Courtyard Pool Suite, which is truly wonderful. We get so much privacy, our own pool, and is also only a 30 second walk from our suite to the resort beach for swimming or snorkling.
Their restaurant has great food, and they have the best happy hour on the island.
Bobbie and Dave (the amazing owner/managers) & their fabulous staff always go above and beyond to make our stay perfect. We can't wait to return to our favourite destination.
Th villas were great - loved the privacy and quiet. The staff and service was exceptional. Location was perfect !
The pool was beautiful but needs some updating.
Very friendly staff , good location , good sunset, great cultural show
Nothing much
Restraunt and bar staff were wonderful .food was beautiful
No sleep roosters and chickens crowing all hours of the night.place is run down and is not worth $400 a night
Great resort. We had a Private Pool Suite which was awesome. So quiet , very private and luxurious. Bed was really comfortable and bathroom was large with great shower and seperate bath. Great restaurant on-site. Food and cocktails were amazing as was the sunsets. Plenty of off street parking. Staff were really friendly and professional. We would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend.
Nothing.
We had our wedding there on Saturday 4th April 26 is was the most beautiful day we could have asked for. Vani the wedding planner was the best and helped myself and my husband from the start right to the end. The staff there were amazing and the food was on
Point soo delicious everyone commented on how yummy it was. The only thing I could probably fault them on is they ran out of Coke zero sugar on the wedding day but they probably didn’t expect my family to be massive Coke Zero drinkers lol other than the it was perfect! Thank you Crown beach resort for making my wedding the most amazing day of my life x
Beach front 2 bedroom villa was perfect location. Great views.
Villa was in need of alot of maintenance and very tired and dated.
Front door had a big gap, walls were very rough bathroom sinks were all cracked.
Bit expensive for what it was.
Cleanliness was ok
Breakfast was good.
Pool was ok needed maintenance not very clean.
Plunge pool was good.
Beach was good for swimming.
We can't fault Crown Beach Resort and Spa, the staff were very welcoming, food was very good and plenty of it, 1 bedroom villa right on the beach with amazing views, the room was intune with the island feel, clean and spacious airconditioned and ceiling fans, the waterfall pool is large, the resort has it's own day spa, Vara is a beautiful soul and her massage and facials were amazing I highly recommended, can' wait to return
The private pool villas were great and had everything you needed.
Grounds and breakfast area felt a little tired.
Nice location on the beach
Great breakfast
Main pool was dirty
Places starting to get a bit rundown Maintenance lacking
The arrival with Lucky at reception was welcoming... Our room was amazing! We went to the bar and restaurant and Baii, Kini Rex and rest of crew right down to the maintenence workers were so so kind and apart of making my bestfriends and my holiday the best! A life time memory thank you family xx
Everything- staff are so friendly and great time at happy hour. Villas with pool are highly recommended
Nothing
Fantastic location, especially for the amazing sunsets.
The wifi whilst free was very unreliable.
After reading mixed reviews we were apprehensive about our stay. However, it would appear that there have been some significant efforts to bring the standard up and reflect the premium tariff charged. These include a welcome drink, friendliness of staff, general cleanliness and ground care. The staff were outgoing and made a great effort to make us welcome and greet us at every opportunity. They have even included a nightly turndown service which is lovely inclusion. But…….
These areas still require improvement: The buffet breakfast was pretty basic, fruit choices of grapes, pawpaw and avocado! On our second of three days we visited the local Prime Groceries Store and purchased a punnet of strawberries and blueberries to put on our waffles to compensate to the envy of other guests but we love fruit as a brekkie start. The hot options were equally scant and poorly presented, rubbery scrambled eggs, mushy hash-browns and about two pieces of bacon in the display for everyone and we had no idea what the green slurry was!
On the bigger picture, this resort, has the signs of it’s former glory but needs significant investment to bring it up to standard. The waterways once streaming through the middle of the resort, all now dry. The ponds at reception just pools of shallow water. As mentioned by other reviewers, the main pool has signs of deterioration and needed to be restored.
We had a pool-villa, meaning a private personal pool attached to our villa all walled off from the world. So we never used the resort pool. These Pool-Villas are fun and highly recommended. They provide privacy from the rest of the resort. The villa has a microwave and refrigerator so we were able to make snacks and drinks. However, here too maintenance was lacking. The pool lighting within the pool and at the side of the pool had failed and needed replacement and repair we had to survive at night with one light positioned to the pool and the cabana fluorescent-light on - manageable but again it comes down to the statements made by many others ‘a luxury tariff but no longer luxury standard’.
We have since experienced the other end of the scale at Temanu Beach Resort, Aitutaki where the service, standard and facilities exceeded expectations and were at an equivalent price-point to this, providing a true comparison.
The property was perfect to end our last 3 nights in Rarotonga. It was perfect for relaxation. The rooms was spectacular, spacious and had everything we needed even our own pool. Staff were super friendly and made sure you were taken care of.
Nothing. Everything was perfect.
