The location is good and the vista overlooking the lake gives an initial good impression. But…..
The steps to the room makes a problem for those with mobility problem, as with the distance from reception and the restaurant to the room.
The place is a golf resort / timeshare and does not feel like a hotel.
The rooms are dated and the whole place needs upgrading and refurbishing.
The rooms have no spoons or bowls to eat some cereal in the mornings, which is a shame as it would be good to overlook the lake in the morning.
No chairs outside the patio doors to sit outside. Only one chair in the room and other person had to sit on bed.
The housing keeping staff were sitting one morning outside their office area and spoke about their contracts being renewed then one shouted ‘at least we have a f******* job for the next three months.’ If we had children with us then this would have been more offensive than it was already.
The restaurant food was good and the staff helpful but it just lacked a sense of occasion.
This place survives on the cosmetics of the location and lake views…. For the price the rest of the place is not competitive with other hotels of equal pricing. If you want to be close to the airport for an overnight stay then it may suit you but if it is for a longer stay then we certainly would not stay or return.
We have yet to have our credit card deposit returned too! Over a week after booking out.
Very quiet rooms and villas with great lake and golf View for total relaxation. Spacious and great value . Caring Team including Justin Lim
Beautiful hotel surrounded by lakes and golf course. We had a lovely lakeside room which was very comfortable and well equipped. We had lunch and breakfast in the restaurant both of which were delicious. Sadly we had only booked one night, but could have stayed for longer.
Our room was in a lakeside villa. Great views from the spacious clean room. The bed was very comfortable, and we had a good night’s sleep despite being under the flight path. The room did not have a bathtub; robes or slippers as advertised on the Accor website. Not a problem we were only there one night. Accessibility could be an issue for some because the room was accessed by an uncovered external tiled staircase. It was raining when we got to the room, so caution was required on the staircase. Then there is an internal staircase to get the room. We were very impressed with our friendly check-in when we received a glass of champagne and some cake. We highly recommend this peaceful hotel.
Stayed here for 2 nights. Amazing location, surrounded by lakes & golf course. Service was friendly and we enjoyed our dinner on both nights. Will surely come back.
This could be a great hotel, location and environment (golf course) are great; however, service issues (inconsistent - seems like there is a lack of trading) and deferred maintenance prevent it from being a better experience.
Clean comfortable room. Restaurant open breakfast, lunch & dinner. Coffee making facilities available in room with small bar fridge. No microwave or toaster. No laundry facilities in our allotment of units. Facilities in neighbouring allotment not really to standard, in need of maintenance. Had to locate laundry mat in town centre. Nice views of the golf course from room. Pleasant stay close to airport for convenience.
The staff are very nice and
Food was amazing. Resort was clean, tidy, and very relaxing
It was just an average accommodation facility. Yes the location was very nice. Private grounds with a pleasant outlook including a large pond.
My room was not water front as such. Had a slither of a glimpse of the view. The on line images featured the best units not the second level ones with no real view. As for the unit I stayed in. A little tired and possibly needing a make over. Did observe the unit next to mine being up graded. Was aware of that when workers started making noise at 07:30 that woke me up when I needed a sleep in after travelling 12 hours the day before. Poor allocation by the booking agency to place a guest next to a renovation site. No peace and quiet at 07:30. Not sure I’d race back there again.
Awesome location and view of the amazing golf course, staff in the bar and restaurant were awesome
From the moment we arrived, the service was flawless. The staff were warm, professional, and always ready to help. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!
Staff were awesome. Allowed us to have an early check in and late check out after a long flight. Food was delicious for both dinner and breakfast!
Excellent place to layover on the fringe of Christchurch city, easy access to motorway and to airport, bog rooms, very nice bed, sleep quality is 100%, easy check in and free car parking , all good
The accommodation was fantastic, spacious and warm. The heated towel rack and heating in the bathroom was great. The food menu was really good as was the level of service. The bed was very comfy and the wifi was easy to connect and provided good speed.
The staff were super friendly!!
One can not fault the setting and food in this restaurant at lunchtime on a beautiful sunny day.
One can fault maître d service… took a while for Service to arrive to seat us and despite being coated for winter no offer to take our coats so I had to go in search of a staff member. There was no coat check in place so post meal had to go to cloakroom to identify our coats.
Also at fault the gents loos. Cistern undusted as too the soffits by ground. Crap marks on seat and floor not gleaming clean. Out of character for rest of restaurant.
The food was very generous and good. We had a prawn chilli linguine and a Caesar salad. Impressed by lunch menu choices, about nine offerings, ranging from a soup/chowder through salads, pastas to a steak and chips. Both were extremely well done and generous … at least 15 if not 20 succulent prawns with silky linguine and a well moderated chilli. Excellent! Would go there again…! especially for dinner-magical setting and am guessing more staff on.
Amazing location within a pristine golf course
My wife and I spent a few days there in April, and we really loved this hotel.
It is very quiet and the view is amazing !!
The rooms/suites are very large and clean.
We also found that all the staff is very polite and tries its best to make your stay comfortable.
We highly recommend this hotel.
Lovely property and location, friendly service
Beautiful grounds and being Autumn the drive in from the main road was stunning.
Check in was average and room was “a little tired” location perfect if heading north or south and wanting to avoid the city centre or catching an early flight.
Our room was very cold when we arrived, some heating on for us before arrival would have made us feel a lot more welcome.
