We had a really lovely stay and would happily come back. The hotel itself is beautiful and even smells gorgeous the moment you walk in. Overall the team made our trip special, with just a few small things that stop it being a perfect five stars.
Let me start with the people, because they were the highlight. Reception were friendly and genuinely helpful throughout, they even offered to charge my phone during our stay when I realised I'd forgotten my charger. The spa staff were lovely too. We arrived at 12 on an early flight from the UK and check-in wasn't until 3, but we happily spent those three hours using the spa and indoor pool while we waited, which made the wait easy. They couldn't offer early check-in or late check-out as the hotel was fully booked, which was completely understandable and no problem at all.
Our housekeeper deserves a special mention, super friendly, spotless, and so thoughtful. She arranged my niece and nephew's fluffy toys on their beds, even shaping the linen into a swimming-pool wave to match their duck toy. Such a sweet touch that the kids adored.
The hotel also surprised us with a birthday cake delivered to the room, which was delicious and such a kind gesture. It really made the trip.
The breakfast buffet was amazing, with a great range including lots of smoothie and detox options. Two small suggestions: the Nutella ran out at the pancake station, and an auto-mixing smoothie dispenser would help, as the smoothies separated a little and looked less fresh than they were.
A few things that could be improved. The reception area was very hot with no air conditioning, noticeable on a warm day. The garage is quite tricky to drive out of, though to their credit reception often asks if you'd like the car brought round to the front, which is a nice service. On arrival, though, there was no one outside to greet us or help with our luggage, which a few of us found surprising for a five-star hotel. And on our last day, while a staff member kindly drove our car out, he stood holding the keys while we loaded all the luggage into the boot ourselves, a bit of a missed opportunity to offer a hand.
One disappointment was the food at the Oasis bar by the outdoor pool. It wasn't good value, over €100 for two adults and two children, and the quality was poor, the tacos were very dry and the vegetables bitter. We heard the XXL restaurant inside is much better but didn't get the chance to try it.
Overall, though, these are small things against a genuinely lovely stay. The hotel is beautiful, the staff are warm and attentive, and the thoughtful touches made it memorable. We'd absolutely return.
We are currently 5 nights into our week long stay at the Wyndham. We are having an incredible family the holiday. The hotel has an incredible vibe and is very luxurious. Pool is just perfect for families. Breakfast wonderful everyday. A huge shout out to Joanna and Anastasia in the kids club. They are incredible with our two girls, who have loved the Kids Club each day. So many incredible restaurants around Quinta de Lago! (Probably better than the hotels to be honest). We feel we have sussed them out and are already considering booking again for next year.

There is only one swimming pool which I find surprising for a Hotel of this size which in turn means there is nowhere for you to go if you want some peace and quiet! No one was there monitoring pool games at any point during our stay so felt chaotic and extremely noisey at all times. This was the biggest downfall really, otherwise it’s a nice Hotel.
We had a fantastic time at the Wyndham Algarve this summer. From front door, to reception, to breakfast to the pool bar staff- everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Which I’m sure is why we, and other families keep returning! Thank you again for a fantastic stay at your hotel! We look forward to our return!
Fabulous holiday where there was plenty to do for the kids & the adults
Home from a fantastic 10 night stay here. The staff team are super and so helpful. 2 bed suite was great for our two children and us. Breakfast was extensive with plenty of healthy options. Thoroughly enjoyed a freshly cooked omelette while the kids loved pancakes with fruit and Nutella. I used the spa and had a lovely massage. We are coming back in October 🥰
