Lovely staff. Misleading advertisement regarding queen bed and single bed in the apartment. There are 2 single beds and a pull out couch.
We stayed in Hotel while we explored Tuscany. Excellent location as a base stay, close proximity to Siena, Volterra, Florence etc. It’s located in a heart of Chianti region. Excellent customer service, nice facilities, swimming pool, wellness club with dry and wet sauna, variety of food to choose from for the breakfast. Special thanks to Anna, Mattio, Victoria and Silvia for providing excellent service, helping with recommendations and information regarding sightseeing, dining, restaurants, wineries, etc. Would definitely recommend this hotel to families with kids and couples to stay in during visiting Tuscany.
I’m not sure if we had an out of the ordinary experience during our time here or if the hotel is in financial trouble but sadly our stay at the hotel was plagued with issues.
Our initial room we stayed in had an issue with the plumbing and during the stay gas from the sewage system was coming up through the drain holes and caused the whole room to fill with harmful gas several times.
This alongside the air conditioning which did not work.
You are not able to control the AC from the room you have to request the temperature to be changed at reception.
We asked them to put it as low as they can which is 17 degrees. Unfortunately our room was 30 degrees at all times we know because we checked (when you turn off the AC system it displays the current temperature in the room.)
You step out into the corridor and it almost felt like an ice box in comparison. Due to these two issues we asked if maintenance could take a look and the hotel then informed us we should move rooms as they couldn’t fix the issue. (However we found out they gave that room to another customer that same day without fixing the issue which was interesting.)
We moved to a different room where we were told the AC would work. After a few hours we found this to not be true. After asking reception to turn the temperature down again they informed me there was nothing they could do and to speak to management about the issue as apparently it is persistent in all the rooms. They offered me a fan which when we plugged it in found out it didn’t work. We were then handed another fan which did work but had no fan guard on it and definitely should not be allowed to be used by customers (but needs must.)
We also had an issue at breakfast when we went to fill up our water bottle we were told no by the staff and that the water dispenser was for water to be drunk in the breakfast space only and not to be taken away. I asked why this was and again was told to take it up with management.
The car park at the hotel itself is tiny and you will be directed to park your car in an unmonitored gravel car park opposite the hotel that is shared by other neighbouring properties and quickly also fills up, with many people having to park their cars on the road.
There are noticeable signs of wear and tear around the hotel which are not massive eye sores but they are there.
Our first room the hot water was give and take dependant on the time of the day but the second room it was always there.
The breakfast choice is pretty good, the food goes out fresh at 7ish and isn’t refreshed so be sure to grab it early as once it’s gone it’s gone.
We ate once at the restaurant and it was so so, overpriced and much better and more affordable options in the nearby town of Arbia.
Housekeeping is very good and will clean your room every day without being asked. Although one day we came back and our room was filled with flys and mosquitos from where they had opened the window during cleaning.
Do not open your windows from 7pm-7am unless you want to be swarmed by mosquitoes they are everywhere in the countryside which is what makes the AC issue so important.
There are fridges in the room and you’re given 1 small bottle of still and sparkling water when you arrive. These are not refreshed so even if your stay is 1 night or 7 nights you get just the 2 bottles of water and aren’t allowed to refill them in the hotel apparently.
Regarding the staff some are very friendly and happy to help others are very nasty and stand offish. I’ve not had a hotel experience like this before other than staying at low budget hotels where you get what you pay for. However as this hotel is not marketing itself within that space it’s very difficult to understand what’s fuelling these issues. The AC situation feels very much like a cost cutting situation. Centrally controlled by the hotel and doesn’t work properly and staff are very avoidant of talking about other customers complaining about the same issue. The same can be said about the water issue we had it’s very odd for a hotel to not let you use a tap.
This 5 star review is for Victoria, the front desk, and the restaurant staff. My mom was a tourist from the US. I learned the tour guide has failed his/her job miserably because my mother and her friends have been eating cup noodles for dinner every night since they landed in Europe.
I made a few international calls from San Diego, CA, USA to the hotel. Victoria and the front desk handled my concern very seriously. They took care of my mother. For that, I deeply appreciated them and for their Italian hospitality. They were very professional and attentive. Who knew I could order from a menu internationally? Victoria, the front desk, and the restaurant staff did. That’s for sure!
The restaurant gave my mom a taste of Italy! I’m beyond convinced my mom’s stay at the room was just as good!
Thank you once again Victoria and the team for the peace of mind.
We were given an alternative room on the second night because neither the fridge or aircon worked, as well as the shower being so small it was hard to wash properly in it. The alternative room was better, however the TV was much too small and too high up on the wall to be able to view it properly from the bed
Great hotel! Very clean with a lot of extras! Will be back!
Water pressure low in shower
During our recent visit to Siena, we were fortunate enough to discover Precise House Montaperti, a true hidden gem. From the moment we arrived, the staff, particularly the gentleman who checked us in, extended a warm welcome and demonstrated a genuine passion for hospitality. His invaluable local knowledge and the thoughtfully prepared map with suggested destinations enriched our exploration of the area.
Our room exceeded expectations with its generous size and impeccable cleanliness. The bed was an absolute highlight, boasting luxurious comfort and ensuring a restful night's sleep after each day of sightseeing. The restaurant further impressed us with its consistently high-quality cuisine, showcasing local flavors and offering a diverse selection at breakfast.
Precise House Montaperti provided a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and personalized service, making our stay in Siena truly memorable. We highly recommend this charming establishment to fellow travelers seeking a refined and welcoming haven for their Tuscan adventures.
Great pool, spa facilities. Food and wine first class. Special mention to Hatem- friendly, efficient service.
Clean and decent rooms, but (unfortunately) a (cold) business atmosphere. Seems the hotel is more related to business trips then couples or families on vacation.
Breakfast however war very good and Elisa was very friendly. For dinner there was a limited choice in dishes and not very Italian. Kitchen was more oriented to European taste.
We stayed at the hotel for three nights and the room was comfortable and clean. We had a meal in the hotel but although the food was good it took a long time to arrive and we were asked our room number three times during the meal. The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Fabulous hotel. All the staff at the hotel and in the restaurant were extremely welcoming and helpful. Made our stay very pleasant indeed. Clean room, comfy bed, fabulous breakfast and peaceful picturesque surroundings. Highly recommend.
Nice big room. They gave me a balcony room. Front desk staff was a little over the top and asked me a lot of personal questions. I had a friend come by for breakfast and they called an asked if he was staying. I was sleeping and he left hours ago so I thought it was weird. I also declined maid service one day and then someone had come into my room and left towels in the bed so that kinda creeped me out. They didn’t leave enough toilet paper. And why leave it on the bed and not make the bed? $5 euros for a big towel to use which is kinda chintzy to charge your guests for a towel when you’re a spa hotel.
Pool was very nice and heated to about 90 degrees so like a warm bath. The pool area was noisy though so it ruined the atmosphere. They should install speaker system with relaxing music to help guests relax more. I didn’t use the spa area as there was no jacuzzi only steam room and sauna.
Breakfast was pretty good. Blood orange juice which I loved and the coffee was delicious. Wait staff was friendly and fast serving for the coffee: thanks for my waiter for his cheerful attitude and smile during my stay.
Très bien pour deux jours. Personnel très sympathique, lieu agréable et confortable. Je recommande
Do yourself a favor and search for another place.
The toilets, the shower, and even the towel rack were broken.
The hotel is very far from the center and the view you see in the photos is only from the hotel balcony and not from the rooms.
Worst hotel ever in Italy!
Just stayed one day, would have preferred two or three so we can enjoy the area.
we used it for the overnight sleep. nice warm water in the pool
Located very close to Siena..free parking at entrance of city.. good breakfast and peaceful surroundings
Clean modern room, helpful staff, excellent restaurant and breakfast
I can’t say enough about the amazing helpful, friendly staff. They made our special at so enjoyable. The hotel and surrounding hill sides are just beautiful. The only downside for us is we didn’t rent a car. So it is about a $25 cab ride from train station. There is a bus that goes right by, which we took on the day the drivers went on strike. That’s not the hotels fault at all, but it is difficult to do. The pool area was lovely and the food in the restaurant was delicious. This property is amazing. You will definitely enjoy your stay. We certainly did.
