Staying in Anantara Tozeur was my best vacation I ever had. I felt like I stayed at my closed friend’s villa in a luxury setting. Nizar and his staff always made sure that we are very comfortable in the hotel and on our Indiana Jones’ adventures. I fell in love with the Tunisian Desert 🏜️ 🐪 🌵 and its people.
We particularly liked the concept of the hotel: secluded location in the desert, excellent infrastructure, and great villas, as well as outstanding staff. Saddem deserves special mention among the staff for his excellent work in lighting the fire on the terrace in the evening and providing evening room service.
The resort has spectacular and good nature. The rooms are well decorated. I am lucky to get the room upgraded to a villa with Sahara view. Thank to Mr. Nizar Saidi, the concierge and guest relations manager who is concerned and always asks if there are any problems that he can help with. I would like especially to thank the restaurant chefs, Mr. Gazi and Mr.Jamel who prepare food for me every day as I have food allergies. I would like especially to thank the restaurant chefs, Mr. Gazi and Mr. Jamel, who prepare food for me every day as I have food allergies. I would like also to thank Mr. Imed, F & B manager and Amira , a staff in the Sarab restaurant who take good care of me for the food. If you want to go back with good memories, this is top property for you.
Nothing
Beautiful luxury resort. The hammam ritual was wonderful. Security is good as well. Service was so friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean, beautiful, large and well appointed. I enjoyed my meal at Saraba though it was pricey, but for a buffet with many excellent options and grilled lamb chops, steak or merguez. Other nights we went into Tozeur to eat. Although more disconnected from local culture than our other hotel stays in Tunisia, it was a bit of a respite from our travels, as a woman, to be able to relax a bit in our attire as well and enjoy Western facilities in a resort.
The resort has such a unique vibe. The environment and decor are incredibly relaxing and make you feel like you’re living in nature. The rooms are beautifully and uniquely decorated. The restaurant staff, service, and food are all excellent. I would especially like to thank the restaurant manager, Imad, and Chef Badeea, along with the rest of the staff, for their kindness, outstanding service, and the delicious food with such a wide variety.
The most beautiful places in Tozeur, with the best spots to watch the sunset and sunrise. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommended!
Resort beem acima da media, funcionarios muito educados e preparados, concierge muito dedicado.
Estrutura sensacional, extemamente limpo e bem cuidado, quarto excelente, super confortavel e espaçoso, cama, lençois e travesseiros excelentes, shampos, sabonetes e condicionador otimos tambem.
Location is very nice, on the edge of chott el djerid
Not the standard of an Anantara. You need to pay for the spa which is ridiculous.
In the rooms, there is nothing, no body lotion, no laundry bag, no little sets.
Beautiful location, amazing rooms, great food in restaurants and at the breakfast. Fantastic and very friendly staff, absolutely exceptional laundry service, thank you!
Small details, like small stains on the pillow or hair in the bathroom, but overall nothing bad :)
The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. Special thanks to the ladies at the reception for making sure I’m well taken care of.
Also, room service was exceptional - the food and the service!! Everyone always had a smile on their face.
Odalar geniş ve ferah
The photos make it look like a peaceful oasis in the middle of the desert, but in reality, the villas and rooms are very close together. The presence of staff and guests constantly passing through the garden gives more of a basic holiday village feeling.
The straw and reed fences surrounding the property block the entire desert and salt lake view, which was very disappointing. Breakfast was quite poor for a hotel of this category. We wanted to experience a Bedouin-style dinner on the desert, but the price was higher than a one-night stay — it felt overpriced and unreasonable.
There was no hot water in the shower, and the heated pool was out of order. Since we had limited time, this negatively affected our stay.
Overall, we were disappointed. The hotel feels more like a simple resort village. That said, it is clean and acceptable by Tunisian standards.
The resort is like an oasis in the middle of the desert, I really liked this atmosphere. When it’s windy it can be dusty but that’s part of the experience. We were greeted with a tasty fresh dattes juice and then accompanied to our room with an electric golf car. We got a nice surprise and got upgraded to a Sahara view villa. And by the way, I recommend paying a little more to get a Sahara view as you will be more isolated.
However, we were really disappointed with the service regarding the price paid:
-after we settled in our room, three times in a row (the first time was a mistake of the staff, second one to bring us bottles of water and the third time to bring us some dattes) there was a staff member entering the room without (or right after) knocking. And as there was no lock, we feel like we didn’t get any privacy.
-we wanted to have lunch at the pool bar but as the resort was almost empty it took us a lot of time and some effort to find a staff member. Service and communication was bad and it took one hour to get our order.
-at the pool there was no service at all, it would have been great to have someone take our drinks order.
-we ask about excusions at the concierge but the guy was quit rude, we felt like we were bothering him.
-service at the breakfast was bad, the table was not cleaned and we had to ask for curtains and water. The tea selection was very bad and the food selection was very rudimentary for that kind of hotel.
-dinner service was slightly better but again we were expecting more.
-the main disappointment was the fact that the hotel didn’t have air conditioning with daytime temperature hitting 35 degrees. We ask three times to get the air conditioning and every time we got some explanations about the fact that they are still in heating mode and they can’t switch it to cooling mode. We complained a last time at the checkout and we got the answer that we have to come back in summer to have the air conditioning.
