I would recommend this hotel to anyone considering it.
Pros:

Beautiful and well maintained hotel. Everything about it if first rate. I liked the unique contemporary room design.

The only negative I had was the mattress was too hard for my liking.

Superbe destination pour Shangmay
Pros:

Le design de l’hôtel l’extrême gentillesse du personnel. Tout est beau dans les moindres détails.

Not worth the money
Pros:

The hotel is beautiful but not worth the exorbitant price
Room was relatively small and they didn’t even include a welcome fruit basket which we received at other hotels on our trip
Great pool area and gym but otherwise disappointed
This is the second hotel we stayed in at Chiang Mai and the value for money was far superior st the Maladee

Amazing stay and staff
Pros:

We had such an excellent stay at the Intercontinental. We were here on our honeymoon and we felt special every moment. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful, especially Brian at the front. Brian made us feel welcome every time he saw us. He helped us with our rides, photos, and language tips. He had great recommendations and it was nice to see his face every day. We will miss the Intercontinental but we will especially miss Brian.

Amazing Service
Pros:

Had an amazing experience here. The service was incredible - Brian specifically was always around to help us and answer questions, we looked forward to running into him. Cris was also a pleasure to talk to by the pool, and took great care of us. The town was easily walkable with great markets, shops, and activities. The rooftop views were stunning as well!

Luxury stay just outside of Oldtown
Pros:

My first InterContinental experience! The room was spotless with an amazing view. Huge property with plenty of amenities (gym, pool, spa, etc). Staff is always very helpful and ready to assist. The property and surrounding area is very safe! Walking distance from plenty of restaurants/bars, 7-11, and night markets.

Cons:

Felt more catered towards families (I’m a solo traveler).
