Great location, comfortable rooms, good house keeping, great gym and good that pool open until 9:30pm
I had a wonderful stay at InterContinental Chiang Mai The Mae Ping. The service throughout my stay was truly extraordinary. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely made me feel well taken care of.
The room was very clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. As an IHG One Rewards Diamond Elite and InterContinental Ambassador member, I was delighted to receive an upgrade to a Premium Room as part of my membership benefits, which made the stay even more enjoyable.
One of the highlights was definitely Club InterContinental. It provides a truly special experience, from the personalized service to the excellent food and beautifully presented afternoon tea. The evening happy hour was another highlight, with a great selection of food and drinks in a relaxing atmosphere. The Club team did an excellent job in making every visit feel special.
I also highly recommend spending some time at the rooftop. The view is fantastic, especially toward the evening, and the attentive service makes it a perfect place to sit back, enjoy the scenery, and relax.
Overall, InterContinental Chiang Mai The Mae Ping is a wonderful place to stay if you are looking for a relaxing and memorable experience in Chiang Mai. It is definitely worth spending some time at the hotel itself rather than simply using it as a place to sleep.
Thank you to the entire team for the extraordinary hospitality. I am already looking forward to my next stay!
LO QUE MAS ME GUSTO FUE EL TRATO DEL PERSONAL, MUY PROFESIONALES, COMPETENTES, ESTAN MUY PENDIENTES. LAS HABITACIONES ESTAN MUY BIEN, LA UBICACION ES PERFECTA.
LO QUE MENOS ME GUSTO FUE LA PLANTA QUE ME PUSIERON (ESPERABA UNA MAS ALTA), LAS VISTAS NO ERAN MUY BUENAS. TAMPOCO QUE HABIA MUCHO NIÑO PEQUEÑO
The pool area is absolutely stunning, with beautifully designed surroundings that create a serene and luxurious atmosphere.
The Club Lounge was another highlight, offering warm and attentive service along with an excellent selection of high-quality food and beverages.
The room was equally impressive, with thoughtful details and a beautifully refined design that made the entire stay feel comfortable and elegant.
Overall, it was a truly enjoyable experience, combining beautiful aesthetics, attentive service, and a strong sense of luxury.
5/5 what a fantastic hotel! Staff are extremely friendly & helpful. Loved our room with the outdoor hot tub. The club lounge was an escape to serenity. Massage staff professional and well trained.
Will definitely be back.

We were very lucky to stay at the Intercontinental Chiang Mai. Beautiful rooms, amazing breakfasts and dinners, but most importantly the hotel team are the greatest asset. Everyone was so kind, polite and went above and beyond to assist and delight. This was a very special stay, with birthday amenities on arrival and a special hand drawn gift on departure. Thank you Bell Captain Khun Thierry - a talented artist.
Khun Noon helped us book a terrific private tour with Khun Jim), and Khun Mike, Khun Yohan and all of the Concierge and front office team were a delight. The housekeeping and room service team were outstanding, super quick service and nothing was too much trouble. The outdoor onsen/hot tub was wonderful and would be amazing latwr in the year in cooler weather.
We very much hope to return for another stay. Thank you again everyone.

Great family vacation at InterContinental Chiang Mai The Mae Ping!
We luckily got a complimentary upgrade to the top-floor room.
Sincere thanks to Momay, Nunn and the Club Team for their attentive service.
The Club Lounge is fantastic, and the towel animals made our kids happy.
Friendly staff, perfect for family travel. We will come back.
The hotel is in a great location, close to the Old Town and many local shops. Everything you need is around you, making it very convenient to explore Chiang Mai.
The staff are nice, kind, and professional. The valet service is also fast and polite, making every arrival and departure smooth.
The hotel is beautifully designed with elegant decoration and a subtle atmosphere. The room is very clean, well decorated, and equipped with a smart TV and everything you need for a comfortable stay. One unique feature is the preserved temple within the hotel grounds, which the hotel helps preserve for the local community. This really makes the hotel stand out from others.
The breakfast is delicious, with a wide variety of choices for guests from different nationalities. We stayed in a Club room, so we also had access to breakfast at the Club Lounge. Every member of the Club Lounge staff was very nice and lovely, creating a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. The Club Lounge was pleasantly quiet (in a good way), not too crowded, and the food and drinks offered plenty of variety. Every visit, from breakfast and afternoon tea to cocktail hour, felt special and relaxing.
One thing to note is that the hotel is quite popular with Chinese families, so there can be many children around, especially at the common breakfast venue. The kids are often very active, so there may be some noise or disturbance at times. That said, we just minded our own business, and it didn't affect our overall experience.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this hotel.
We stayed at the InterContinental Chiang Mai for four nights, from 20 to 24 July 2026.
What we liked: Excellent location, just a 10-minute walk from the Night Bazaar, a beautiful lobby, stylish and high-quality rooms, and exceptionally well-trained, attentive staff. The pool is small but elegant and offers excellent service.
What you should know: The hotel was heavily occupied, with a large proportion of guests appearing to be from China. At breakfast, the main dining room was sometimes so busy that there were no tables available. Fortunately, the staff always offered us a lovely table in a separate dining area, which we greatly appreciated. The buffet itself can feel crowded, hectic, and noisy during peak hours. The rooms also have poor sound insulation, particularly from the corridor.
Overall, we expected more space and a quieter atmosphere for the price.
We stayed in a Club Level room with a large private terrace, and the experience was excellent from arrival to departure.
The staff were seamless, genuinely warm and consistently helpful, from the Club Lounge and concierge team to the doormen. This was not the usual “smile, tick the checklist, move on” version of hospitality. They handled every request efficiently, recognised our room number, and made us feel properly looked after without being intrusive and you can feel the genuine and warmth from them.
Our room was modern, spacious and very comfortable, with an exceptionally good bed. The outdoor area was enormous, with a hot tub, loungers and a dining table. The bathroom, by comparison, appeared to have drawn the short straw and was rather small.
Our room could also be used as an interconnecting room, and the soundproofing around the adjoining door was not ideal. We could hear the guests next door rather frequently. Either the wall was very thin, or we were unlucky enough to be sharing it with people who preferred to conduct every conversation at conference-call volume.
The Club Lounge itself was pleasant, although the air-conditioning was set somewhere between “refreshing” and “commercial freezer.” I genuinely felt sorry for the staff working there, particularly in sleeveless uniforms. Adjusting the temperature or at least providing them with jackets would not go amiss.
The concierge arranged a customised tour around our requirements with minimal fuss. The airport pick-up was equally smooth: punctual, convenient and in a very comfortable car.
The rooftop bar is worth visiting, particularly around sunset. It offers excellent city views, a strong drinks menu and cocktails presented with enough theatre to justify photographing them before drinking them. The spa was another highlight. My massage was excellent, very reasonably priced and genuinely one of the best I have experienced.
The hotel is also well located, around a 10–15-minute walk from the night markets and the Old Town, making it convenient without being directly in the middle of the noise.
The main disappointment was the food. Breakfast was average, the Club Lounge selection was limited, and the afternoon tea and snacks were consistently underwhelming. Nothing was particularly bad; it was simply all rather forgettable, which is not ideal when the rest of the hotel is so memorable. Improving the variety, flavour and overall quality would take the experience to another level.
This is an excellent hotel with beautiful rooms, strong amenities and outstanding service. I would still give it five stars because the warmth, professionalism and effortless hospitality of the staff made the stay feel special. The kitchen, soundproofing and Club Lounge thermostat just need to receive the same memo.
Brian is exceptionally service his warm welcome attentive luggage handling and proactive
Brian is one of my favorite part of hospitality He is always smiling which is attractive
Brian was extremely hospitable and welcoming from the moment we arrived. We had only stopped in for a cocktail, but he warmly greeted us and invited us to relax at the pool bar while we waited for our table at the rooftop bar. His friendly attitude and excellent service made us feel like valued guests from the start. I highly recommend stopping by—you’ll be well taken care of!
such a lovely place staying with my family Brian is part of us He is really helpful to organize our stuff
A Wonderful Return After 20 YearsI haven’t been to Chiang Mai in almost 20 years, and I am so happy to see that the city is still as lovely and charming as I remembered. This time, I came with the specific intention of experiencing the highly-reputed Club InterContinental, and it absolutely did not disappoint.
Exceptional Hospitality From Step One (10/10)The impeccable hospitality began the very moment we stepped foot into the hotel. Even though standard check-in is typically in the afternoon, the staff went out of their way to arrange and prepare our room for us early in the morning. Every single employee greeted us with genuine warmth and smiles.
A special thank you to the Club Lounge team—their attentiveness, ability to remember personal preferences, and proactive care made us feel incredibly valued throughout our stay.Stunning Rooms & AmbienceThe room itself was spotlessly clean, incredibly comfortable, and offered a wonderful atmosphere. The hotel's decor is beautiful, perfectly blending modern luxury with the local, cultural vibe of Chiang Mai. It feels like a peaceful, green oasis right in the city center.
We had a fantastic dinner at Hong Sky, and a huge part of that was thanks to Khun Top. He took such great care of us with a warm smile and top-notch service. Thank you!
