My overall experience was good except I did not like the bathroom design. Being a person sensitive to light during sleep, I prefer a room with complete darkness or minimum night light. The bathroom has glass sliding doors with some wooden design on it, meaning light from the bathroom will filter through the room whenever someone else uses the bathroom at night. Imagine you are sleeping and all of a sudden, a shaft of light shines into the bedroom. This is my main grouse otherwise room is clean, staff are friendly and attentive. Location is good.
The hotel is in a great neighborhood and a 25 minute walk to the old city. It’s well managed and the staff are awesome.
I especially liked Mr Tam at the poolside bar: a super nice guy who I caught quietly juggling limes before mixing my drinks 🤣. He’s very friendly and was kind enough to share his insight into what it’s like to live in Chiang Mai. It was nice to get a local’s perspective and he made me & my wife feel at home while staying at the hotel. I wish all other hotels had a “Mr Tam” - he made us feel truly welcomed to Chiang Mai.
The neighborhood has a lot of great food stalls and bars nearby but the neighborhood vibe is quiet and safe. The few hostels nearby bring a young, vibrant group of people around, but overall everyone is pretty chill. There are plenty of night markets and Michelin restaurants within 5-10 minutes walking, so be ready for some nearby exploring. I can’t wait to come back to the Intercontinental Chiang Mai
p.s. The rooftop bar has awesome views - just make sure to take the far left elevator (if you know, you know)

Excellent

Beautiful and well maintained hotel. Everything about it if first rate. I liked the unique contemporary room design.
The only negative I had was the mattress was too hard for my liking.
Everything
Terrible recognition of elite loyalty members. Receiving a room upgrade is a guaranteed benefit of being a Diamond Ambassador member with IHG. However, this hotel uses a bunch of corporate nonsense to wiggle its way out of that obligation. The sad part is that this is the 3rd year in a row I'm staying with them but they don't care. They also have a suite and club level rooms available but they refuse to upgrade even though, again, it's a guaranteed benefit for being a Diamond Ambassador.
Think this will be my last time staying with these guys and will instead go with the Anantara Chiang Mai next time.
Great service, Brian is very friendly and very attentive.
Brian is the one of staff ,he help me to take the luggage. He is nice
Brian was great at Marriott hotel
We had a wonderful stay at Intercontinental CM. The room and facilities are excellent and well maintained. Unlike experience of some other reviewers we found our twin room spacious, with a seating area comfortably arranged. The real asset of the hotel is its staff, who are most welcoming and courteous. They made every effort to make our stay as comfortable as possible. A special mention goes to Brian, one of the foyer staff, who was extremely helpful and sorted out a difficult taxi situation for us. Overall, a pleasant experience and will definitely come back when next in Chiang Mai.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and professional, especially Brian, who was incredibly helpful and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend!
Le design de l’hôtel l’extrême gentillesse du personnel. Tout est beau dans les moindres détails.
Malheureusement, la piscine n’est pas chauffée. c’est étonnant pour un 5 étoiles
-bellman Brian’s service is very good and patient,
