This is the worst hotel I've ever been to!!!
The service here is ZERO!!!! I've never seen worse service and staff anywhere!!! Nowhere!!!!
The girl at the reception is a huge problem!!! She doesn't know how to communicate with guests! The service is a complete ZERO!
They didn't even give me water upon check-in. They serve it to guests selectively.
They are absolutely rude!!!
The girl at the reception acts as if you were in her home!!! I'm simply shocked by this service! This is rock bottom!!!!
I extended my reservation for two days. They changed my room and told me to wait in the hallway until 2 PM the next day. Is this 5 stars?!!!!!
This is the worst place I've ever been!!!!
I wouldn't recommend it even to my worst enemy!!!!!!
They ruined my entire vacation and all my nerves!!!!!
L’hôtel est bien situé, propre
Le petit dej pourrait être amélioré
We had an amazing stay at the intercontinental Chiang Mai.
At check-in the staff greeted us warmly and the hospitality and exceptional service continued throughout our stay. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, attentive, and committed to making our stay memorable.
The room was well laid out and cozy. The king size bed was comfortable, with soft, clean linens and six plush pillows. There was a closet with hangers , multiple drawers for storage, a work desk, and a cozy seating area for lounging.
Our room was quiet, comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. There was a smart TV, a fully stocked mini bar and a safe. The air conditioning worked well and the lighting was as adequate. There were convenient electrical outlets and USB ports on either side of the bed and one near the desk. The WiFi was excellent with strong connectivity throughout the property.
The bathroom was a good size with a walk-in shower consisting of two shower heads with great water pressure. There was also a large soaking bathtub and a full range of amenities including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion ,toothbrush, toothpaste, and shower cap.
Housekeeping was meticulous, and delivered exceptional daily service. The evening turn down service was an extra special touch.
The experience in the club intercontinental lounge was the highlight of our stay. Every team member was welcoming, attentive, and went above and beyond to deliver impeccable service. Since we are vegan the waitstaff collaborated with the culinary team to prepare flavorful, creative, nutritionally balanced and beautifully presented vegan dishes daily. Upon our request they even made us delicious tofu scramble and vegan pancakes which were delicious.
The price felt fair given the level of amenities, quality of service, and overall luxurious experience.
The InterContinental Chiang Mai perfectly combines luxury, comfort, and genuine hospitality. I highly recommend it and we are already planning our next stay
Great location and facilities. Excellent and friendly staff. Good value for money.
Limited privacy when using the bathroom, so better for couples than friends.
The location plus the restaurant is exceptionally good and the staff are really fantastic
Facilities and services are amazing l suppose maybe they can make the stay more personalised like a written note or something. Really difficult to name one thing l didn’t like as it was a good hotel and good service
I had a very nice experience at the Intercontinental Hotel in Chiang Mai. The moment I walked into the lobby, I felt the elegance of the hotel.
Nina helped me with my check-in, and her warm and friendly attitude gave me a great start to my stay. Later, Ozone showed me around the hotel facilities. He was proactive and attentive. Both of them made me feel comfortable and truly at home.
My room was clean and spacious. The housekeeping team did a great job, making sure I had a comfortable stay throughout.
The hotel’s restaurant, Gad Lanna, serves a great variety of delicious breakfast options. The restaurant staff were always smiling, ready to help, and really cared about what guests needed.
Overall, my stay was more than just satisfying my needs — it was special and unforgettable. Highly recommended!
A huge thank you for every single one of the 12 wonderful days we spent at InterContinental Chiang Mai The Mae Ping!
The biggest highlight for us was definitely the staff – they are incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. Please cherish and take good care of them, because they truly make the difference!
We especially loved how beautifully they organized the room decorations for our little daughter’s 3rd birthday celebration. It looked stunning and tasteful, and we also received a lovely welcome message from the hotel. Every day they surprised us with small but elegant and thoughtful gestures that made us feel truly valued and special.
We would happily return again and highly recommend this hotel – especially for families with children!

Had a wonderful stay with the family here. Always a big fan of Intercontinental and IHG residences as they very rarely ever disappoint. This was no exception, from the moment you arrive and you are greeted at the door by the lovely staff to the ease of check in you feel valued and know you are going to have a great stay. The atmosphere upon entering is always one of class and you know each Intercontinental has their own scent that you look forward to. The location of the hotel is very central and easy to get around. The rooms are very clean and great in size. You are used to the standard at Intercontinental and this one hit every mark. The facilities of the hotel from the gym to the pool were great and the kids area was always so welcoming. The staff in the kids area were so friendly and always remembered the kids needs and who they were. This is a great inclusion for families. They have so many activities for the children as well. The breakfast was phenomenal and plentiful. The value for what you get at Intercontinental is always proportional to the outstanding service and quality you receive. We had a wonderful stay and will be back when we are in Chiang Mai again!
The room was amazing, bathroom and shower amazing too. The staff were amazing too all so friendly and helpful. They even gave a complimentary cake for the birthday. Restaurant was amazing
During burning season the rooftop isn’t open but that’s fair enough just keep in mind
Unfortunately this hotel was not for me. There are a few reasons for this the first being the standard classic room. It is very tight and cluttered. In my opinion there is too much stuff and even for one person you are avoiding walking into things. It is visually more than presentable, however it is not practical even for 1 person never mind 2.
More than 20% of the room is taken up by the bathroom which in itself didn’t work for me. At the sink area alone, there is not enough space to put anything. Management should be able to see this with their own eyes. How a couple would manage is totally beyond me. The presence of a very large bath in such a small space is totally mind boggling . In my opinion it looks well as a designers dream but with no concept as to how ordinary people live and organise their lives. I know there are other bigger rooms however beyond my budget.
The hotel is easy on the eye, public areas clean and very well maintained. Staff most especially the pool personal are to be commended for their kindness and courteous service most appreciated. However to charge over 170 Thai baht for an ice lemon tea that is actually a fruit punch is stretching the acceptable.
Finally and with the greatest of respect to the property if you choose to stay here, be advised to book one of their larger rooms. The bed is great the shower fantastic in the standard classic room however buyer beware.
Brian was a very warm staff he provided a lot of information about chiang mai to me. And a short room tour was very nice and informative. Looking so forward to the stay!
Beautiful, kind, central!!!
My overall experience was good except I did not like the bathroom design. Being a person sensitive to light during sleep, I prefer a room with complete darkness or minimum night light. The bathroom has glass sliding doors with some wooden design on it, meaning light from the bathroom will filter through the room whenever someone else uses the bathroom at night. Imagine you are sleeping and all of a sudden, a shaft of light shines into the bedroom. This is my main grouse otherwise room is clean, staff are friendly and attentive. Location is good.
Brian at lobby was really helpful and friendly would definitely recommend to others. Great bar with great view!
The hotel is in a great neighborhood and a 25 minute walk to the old city. It’s well managed and the staff are awesome.
I especially liked Mr Tam at the poolside bar: a super nice guy who I caught quietly juggling limes before mixing my drinks 🤣. He’s very friendly and was kind enough to share his insight into what it’s like to live in Chiang Mai. It was nice to get a local’s perspective and he made me & my wife feel at home while staying at the hotel. I wish all other hotels had a “Mr Tam” - he made us feel truly welcomed to Chiang Mai.
The neighborhood has a lot of great food stalls and bars nearby but the neighborhood vibe is quiet and safe. The few hostels nearby bring a young, vibrant group of people around, but overall everyone is pretty chill. There are plenty of night markets and Michelin restaurants within 5-10 minutes walking, so be ready for some nearby exploring. I can’t wait to come back to the Intercontinental Chiang Mai
p.s. The rooftop bar has awesome views - just make sure to take the far left elevator (if you know, you know)

Excellent
