Good Afternoon,
I am writing to formally complain about our recent stay at Sea Shell Beach Club Daytona, which was booked through Booking.com over a year ago for a very special family occasion. This trip was intended to bring my family back to a place that holds significant sentimental value for us.
As we were travelling over Memorial Day weekend, accommodation options were limited, and we trusted Booking.com as a reliable platform when making our reservation. Unfortunately, the condition and standard of the rooms we were provided with were completely unacceptable and far below what was advertised as a 3-star property.
We booked two rooms for four adults and one child. Both rooms were configured only for two people, despite the booking clearly including a child. The welcome letter mentioned a blow-up bed; however, this was not a suitable or acceptable sleeping arrangement considering the amount we paid for the accommodation.
In addition, there were several serious issues with the rooms:
Room 301: The patio door locks did not function properly, which made us feel unsafe and uncomfortable during our stay.
Room 402: There was visible mould throughout the bathroom. This was especially concerning as my 6-year-old grandson suffers from asthma, and exposure to mould posed a potential health risk.
The overall condition of the hotel was extremely disappointing, and the experience caused significant stress and upset for my family. What was meant to be a meaningful and enjoyable trip turned into a deeply unpleasant experience.
Given the circumstances, we are requesting an appropriate refund and would also urge Booking.com to reassess whether this property meets the standards required to remain listed as a 3-star accommodation on your platform.
We look forward to receiving your response and a resolution to this matter as soon as possible.
Kind regards,
Stephen Langley
It was very nice
Had to leave
The oceanfront room we rented was amazing. When we stepped out our door in the ground floor, we were at the outdoor heated pool. Just beyond the pool was a staircase for beach access. The staff is amazing, friendly and helpful. There is ample parking. The room was clean and comfortable.
There want much to not like. We did however get a spider thar looked like a brown recluse in our room. We killed it with tanning oil. Lol
The property is goregous!
I stayed at this property in 2025 and 2026, I plan on staying in 2027 too
THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND STAY IT SELF WAS WONDERFUL, EVEN THE OTHER GUEST WAS FRIENDLY
NA
Horrible service, musty room. If they run out of parking they will tell you to park in the sand lot next door. If you have a low car like mine it WILL get stuck and you’ll have to dig it out. The door you’ll have to force shut to lock because it’s old and doesn’t work. The outlets are all loose. The a/c makes a whole lot of noise and the bathrooms are so old and crusty. Not worth the money they charge AT ALL
Great location, very clean, excellent staff. Very accommodating. Will definitely return again.
Super cute and easy to access. The beach access isn't far away or hard to get too. Not a huge place so everything is easy to get too. I had everything I needed here for our stay.
One night
It’s on the ocean with ocean view and access which is wonderful. The manager is very helpful. But the physical facility is badly in need of an upgrade. The shower is substandard. The stovetop was broken so they just put a plug in burner on top of it. The ice machine was broken. It’s a former time share which has not been well maintained.
I absolutely love this hotel. It’s the only one I stay at when I’m in Daytona. Beautiful views, friendly staff, very communicative as well.
Room was very clean but the mattress was extremely uncomfortable and old. Fix that one issue and I would have 0 complaints.
The room was cozy and location were amazing only thing we noticed was the ac didn't get cold as it was hot in the room until about 2am after we arrived around 5pm. Other that we would definitely stay again in the future for a quick trip to beach.
Nothing
Rooms outdated, old and not very clean we left early very uncomfortable stay
