What a sweet little hotel! The Juniper is in an excellent location surrounded by nature's beauty. Everyone we encountered was extremely friendly and helpful. Be sure to include a meal at the Juniper Bistro!
We were planning a trip to Banff and stumbled across The Juniper Hotel! The view from the room was incredible. A great spot to stay that was just a 5 minute drive from downtown Banff. The hot tub was a super cool experience and the view was breathtaking. All the staff was very kind and accommodating. The hotel was very clean overall. We would definitely stay again!
This boutique hotel is absolutely charming and located just outside downtown Banff. Quiet, clean and comfortable. The restaurant was fabulous 😍. We ate there three times. The front desk was attentive and very helpful. They were patient in answering all our questions and helped us in looking up road conditions. The hotel area had various native displays that were very educational as well as a photography exhibit of tribal members of interest.
There was a hot tub, but we just didn't have time to use it. There also was a complimentary car service to downtown, but we also did not end up using it as we preferred driving around.
The beds were comfortable and the pillows were the most fluffy and supportive pillows I have ever slept on.
We will most definitely stay here again when we are in the area.
We stayed at Juniper hotel & this was our first time in Banff. The service has been amazing. They held our ski for us since we went skiing. They offer a shuttle service to and from that has been amazing. Specifically, our driver Hope has been incredible. He made us feel very welcomed & went above and beyond to make sure we got to places on time. The views are awesome & the room was nice and clean. My only complaint is the beds are pretty uncomfortable. Overall a great experience & would highly recommend! 😊
Everything was great, but Hope was the best! So glad to have met him! He was the sweetest person ever and was able to meet our requests very pleasantly. Such an amazing person and made our trip amazing!
We stopped to check out hotel for our next and stayed for breakfast. The breakfast was outstanding with a super variety of dishes beyond typical breakfast fare. The ethnic twists were delicious. An area that doesn’t always get attention but was appreciated was the dishes- first class. The best part of our meal was our server- Gabrielle. She was attentive and timely in her service while sharing her favorites delightfully. He service will ensure we come back and stay at the hotel so we can enjoy the food and her impeccable service!
We booked a King Deluxe Valley Room, and as lovers of natural views, this place exceeded our expectations. The room offered a stunning view of Mount Rundle and Vermilion Lakes—absolutely breathtaking.
We especially enjoyed the hot tub overlooking the valley, which was incredibly relaxing. We were also traveling with our pet, and the hotel was very pet-friendly. Our dog tends to wake up at night needing to go out, and it was extremely convenient to step outside and take him for a quick walk.
Overall, a wonderful stay with beautiful scenery, great amenities, and thoughtful accommodation for pets.
I chose this hotel based on its location and the views of the area…and it certainly delivered! The trees, mountains, and scenery in every direction from this hotel were absolutely stunning. If you’re looking for a more quiet, relaxed hotel, than the downtown ones, this is the place to be.
The staff were all very knowledgeable, helpful, and very welcoming, especially as a solo traveler. They provided a lot of good suggestions and ideas of what to do.
The free daily shuttle to the downtown area was extremely helpful, as I did not have a vehicle. The service was very prompt and efficient.
The s’mores at night by the fire and the outdoor hot tub topped off my week long stay in the best possible way!
Great value for price! The location of the hotel is very nice - just outside of Banff. The rooms have a simple nice decor. We got the mountain facing view which was gorgeous and relaxing. The only downside is that we could hear the road nearby. The hot tub with the mountain view is 10/10!
This is a lovely place to stay while visiting Banff. It is just at the outskirts of Banff so they provide a shuttle for guests. It is advantageous to be a little bit away from the bustle of Banff: no noise from the streets and a more authentic experience of the nature. The views from the bistro and the rooms facing the mountains are splendid. The rooms are both simple, clean, comfortable, and elegant. One wish: another lamp in the room, it was a little dark. If you stay at the Juniper, do it at The Bistro. As per the attached photos, the food was outstanding!
Charged me again late September for no reason and doesn’t reply emails… the “outdoor hotspring” smells like a boiling bleach bowl.
This doesn’t feel like a hotel, it feels like you’re staying at a family member’s home, in the best way possible. From the moment you walk in, to dinner and breakfast at the restaurant, to the moment you leave, you feel cared for. Every single staff member is kind, welcoming and incredible. We absolutely loved our stay and will be coming back.
Juniper is the hotel to be at. It’s amazing. So is Hudson. Highly, highly recommended. The staff cares, you can see it in all aspects.
We had a wonderful family stay at The Juniper Hotel. The location and view are beautiful, and the service was great. We want to give special thanks to Hope, who drove us during our stay, he was so friendly, helpful, and always on time. The shuttle was very comfortable, and it was super easy to book and arrange pick-ups with them, which made our trip so much more convenient. We really appreciated the warm hospitality. Highly recommended.❤️🎄
Absolutely incredible stay. I genuinely don’t understand why this hotel isn’t talked about more online. The views are breath-taking and truly make the experience feel special.
The free shuttle into Banff town was extremely convenient, and the complimentary equipment rental was such a thoughtful bonus. While there is a highway nearby, the views completely outweigh it, to the point where you barely notice.
At night, the sound of the train passing through the valley was actually peaceful and added to the atmosphere rather than detracting from it.
This hotel felt memorable, unique, and romantic. We loved every second of our stay and would absolutely return.
We stayed here when we came to Banff in November 2025, and it was one of the best stays I have ever had. The Juniper is far enough away from downtown that it's quiet and secluded, but close enough to be within a 5-10 min drive. We got upgraded to one of their cabins. It was nice and cozy, especially with the wood-burning fireplace it had inside. Rooms were clean, and the staff was probably the nicest and most helpful staff I've ever interacted with at a hotel (and I've stayed at a lot of hotels). They have bear spray and hiking poles at the front desk for you to take if you want them while you go hiking, and the hot tub has a great view of the surrounding mountains. Would recommend to anyone who is thinking of staying here. Would rate my stay an 11/10.
The picture looked great till you are seeing the mountain but many transport trucks going past all night. No sleep. Hot tub small plus when we were actually going to use it….fecal contamination so that was a huge turn off for our first getaway weekend as a couple. Very disappointed and very dated place.
A great place for a business retreat!
Hudson and the entire staff at the Juniper Hotel went above and beyond to accomodate our group. I stayed on the first floor facing the mountains, and the morning coffee sunrise over the Rockies while watching locals skate on the frozen lake below was a bucket list checkmark.
The hotel has been thoughtfully renovated to reflect old charm balanced with modern taste. The free shuttle runs over 30 mins and takes you to/from Banff at no charge. Overall, such a great winter getaway!
My friends and I stayed three nights on a tight budget, and the Juniper Hotel exceeded our expectations! The space feels homey and comfortable, and with staff who you become familiar with who make you feel welcome. We loved the lobby so much that we spent more time there than in our room because of how peaceful and quiet it was. Hudson at the front desk was especially kind! He kept us good company even though we were a handful but still stayed on top of his duties. The outdoor hot tub was so so beautiful. Our shuttle driver, Hope, was especially wonderful. Patient and professional and so sweet even though the three of us were like barking hyenas the whole time - same goes to all the other drivers that helped us! We’ll definitely return to Banff, and when we do, the Juniper Hotel will be our first choice.
The Juniper is a wonderful hotel, just across the highway from Banff. For much better value than the downtown hotels you get a spectacular view and comfortable rooms.
The staff members were helpful and friendly and there is a terrific restaurant that's inspired plant forward menu is fantastic.
I would highly recommend!
