Juniper is the hotel to be at. It’s amazing. So is Hudson. Highly, highly recommended. The staff cares, you can see it in all aspects.
We had a wonderful family stay at The Juniper Hotel. The location and view are beautiful, and the service was great. We want to give special thanks to Hope, who drove us during our stay, he was so friendly, helpful, and always on time. The shuttle was very comfortable, and it was super easy to book and arrange pick-ups with them, which made our trip so much more convenient. We really appreciated the warm hospitality. Highly recommended.❤️🎄
Absolutely incredible stay. I genuinely don’t understand why this hotel isn’t talked about more online. The views are breath-taking and truly make the experience feel special.
The free shuttle into Banff town was extremely convenient, and the complimentary equipment rental was such a thoughtful bonus. While there is a highway nearby, the views completely outweigh it, to the point where you barely notice.
At night, the sound of the train passing through the valley was actually peaceful and added to the atmosphere rather than detracting from it.
This hotel felt memorable, unique, and romantic. We loved every second of our stay and would absolutely return.
We stayed here when we came to Banff in November 2025, and it was one of the best stays I have ever had. The Juniper is far enough away from downtown that it's quiet and secluded, but close enough to be within a 5-10 min drive. We got upgraded to one of their cabins. It was nice and cozy, especially with the wood-burning fireplace it had inside. Rooms were clean, and the staff was probably the nicest and most helpful staff I've ever interacted with at a hotel (and I've stayed at a lot of hotels). They have bear spray and hiking poles at the front desk for you to take if you want them while you go hiking, and the hot tub has a great view of the surrounding mountains. Would recommend to anyone who is thinking of staying here. Would rate my stay an 11/10.
The picture looked great till you are seeing the mountain but many transport trucks going past all night. No sleep. Hot tub small plus when we were actually going to use it….fecal contamination so that was a huge turn off for our first getaway weekend as a couple. Very disappointed and very dated place.
A great place for a business retreat!
Hudson and the entire staff at the Juniper Hotel went above and beyond to accomodate our group. I stayed on the first floor facing the mountains, and the morning coffee sunrise over the Rockies while watching locals skate on the frozen lake below was a bucket list checkmark.
The hotel has been thoughtfully renovated to reflect old charm balanced with modern taste. The free shuttle runs over 30 mins and takes you to/from Banff at no charge. Overall, such a great winter getaway!
My friends and I stayed three nights on a tight budget, and the Juniper Hotel exceeded our expectations! The space feels homey and comfortable, and with staff who you become familiar with who make you feel welcome. We loved the lobby so much that we spent more time there than in our room because of how peaceful and quiet it was. Hudson at the front desk was especially kind! He kept us good company even though we were a handful but still stayed on top of his duties. The outdoor hot tub was so so beautiful. Our shuttle driver, Hope, was especially wonderful. Patient and professional and so sweet even though the three of us were like barking hyenas the whole time - same goes to all the other drivers that helped us! We’ll definitely return to Banff, and when we do, the Juniper Hotel will be our first choice.
The Juniper is a wonderful hotel, just across the highway from Banff. For much better value than the downtown hotels you get a spectacular view and comfortable rooms.
The staff members were helpful and friendly and there is a terrific restaurant that's inspired plant forward menu is fantastic.
I would highly recommend!
The Juniper Hotel has such a welcoming atmosphere. The receptionists are friendly as soon as you walk in the door. I absolutely loved the mountain view. Sometimes I just laid in the bed and gazed at the mountains. Other times I went out on the patio to feel the Canadian nature.
The fact that the Juniper Hotel also has the Juniper Bistro makes it even more welcoming and convenient. When you get hungry you can walk downstairs to the Bistro where they have vegetarian and vegan options.
The shuttle will take you downtown and pick you up which is an added bonus. They also have bikes for you to rent as well.
My time at the Juniper Hotel was absolutely amazing!
The Juniper Hotel was incredible! While the location is a little out of Banff town, they have a shuttle that runs every so often. But the atmosphere was unreal, and the views surrounding the hotel were even better. The staff are also super friendly and willing to help. We stayed in one of the cabins onsite and not the hotel itself, but had the best time there. We all agreed this was our favourite location and highlight of the trip. The Cabin had everything we could need and overlooked the forest. The beds were comfy, the fireplace was cozy, and the bathroom was clean as well. It was also very quiet and we were lucky enough to be able to watch the first snowfall from our cabin. The hotel amenities were also amazing - being in the hot tub while it snowed was an unforgettable experience. I cannot wait to come back to Banff and stay here again. While it is slightly on the pricier side, we would highly recommend you visit!
We loved our experience at the Juniper! It was quaint and off the beaten path. I’m dying to know the brand of soap that was provided in the bathrooms. My husband LOVED the scent and I’d love to surprise him with some for Christmas! Does anyone know the specific brand/scent?
Wonderful staff and got upgraded to a mountain view which was lovely. However just a couple of items need to be addressed, especially with the prices now being charged (an issue with all Banff hotels). First off you should state on your website that there is no elevator so anyone with mobility issues needs to make sure to book a first floor room. Secondly, this is an old hotel that has been very well kept up but the carpets in the rooms need replacing along with some of the furniture. The dresser had seen better days and the cover on the desk chair looked like it had been attacked by a cat.
The room did have everything a traveller could want and was very comfortable. As I said earlier, the staff were wonderful. Only ate breakfast in the restaurant and it was great. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it as a good place to stay.
Our room was upgraded to a penthouse, and it was an incredible experience! The hotel is clean and comfortable, equipped with everything needed for a perfect stay. I highly recommend staying here.
This boutique hotel is in a lovely wooded setting but easy to get to Banff village. The staff from check in to restaurant were so kind and helpful even finding us a car scraper after an unexpected snow. The hot tub has the most lovely view as do many of the rooms. The restaurant was wonderful and it stands alone as a great stop but to have on site is ideal. Would absolutely stay again and highly recommend.
Such a great location and view from our patio. Very cute design if the rooms and shared space. Loved the refillable water station and tea offered in the lobby. The e-bike amenity was amazing- so great to take into town and see the town center and lakes surrounding. Hot tub was great as well. Loved that we could stream whatever we wanted to the tv as well. Very quiet hotel. Ac/heat well controlled
I have stayed in this hotel and as always staff are helpful and friendly. Since the hotel is a few minutes away from downtown, shuttle is needed. The shuttle service is limited and the time available is very limited. They only service between 10am to 6pm and very often not available since I think only 1 shuttle is available.
Other than the limited service, the place has nice views even if the structure is little dated. Snd the staff are helpful and friendly.
Spectacular views from our room and loved the separation from town but easy access to all major roads. Staff were great and the food was excellent, but the pillows and bed in the room weren’t the most comfortable. Mountain view hot tub was pretty sweet too!
The location for this hotel is excellent! So close to downtown banff without feeling like you are in the hustle and bustle. You feel secluded in the trees but have an amazing view. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
We loved using the Ebikes. A highlight of the trip.
The lighting in the rooms is very poor. I hard a really hard time seeing to read with the little side table tamps. There was only a small ceiling light by the door.
The rooms are a little cramped but well cleaned. There is no elevator for second floor rooms but those have the best views. They set out fed tea a lot, but we often wished they had a water option available more than just the mornings.
Great vibes. Tucked away from the bustle of downtown, but not far by foot. Hudson at the front desk was especially pleasant and accommodating.
I had an AMAZING experience at the Juniper Hotel. I stayed there Sept 2025 and it was a magical experience with unparalleled views. The staff was excellent and always helpful/accomodatin. The hotel itself was clean and the Hot Tub was a real treat. The Bistro restaurant was also, great! I had a great brunch there and stopped by the fancy bar for a few drinks as well. I HIGHLY recommend The Juniper if you’re going to be in the area.
