Voco Hotel at the Old Gasworks
Pros:

The staff are so welcoming & friendly. They were so nice to our doggie as well.
Our room was lovely & a dog bed & dog goodies were left out.
We traveled from Dublin& hotel was easy to find & parking outside in secure parking is free.
Out the back door of the hotel & a shortcut brings you into City Hall & the shopping area of Belfast, by foot it took about 15 minutes.
After a misunderstanding about the Breakfast times staff helped us have a lovely breakfast set up in the bar as our doggie joined us. In particular thanks to Sharmin, who was extremely polite friendly & helpful with this.
We had a lovely evening meal in the Bar attached to the restaurant served by Cian, who was a super server. Before we even saw the restaurant we had met Cian in the garden & he welcomed ourselves & our doggie to the hotel!
I had a margarita in the bar prepared by the bartender & it was excellent.
A dog friendly Caffè Nero on the way into Belfast was very good.
Belfast Market was also nearby but not open unfortunately when we were visiting.
We will definitely return!

Excellent hotel with amazing service
Pros:

First night in Belfast and we’re off to a brilliant start at the voco. After a long walk back from the city centre, we settled in for dinner, where we were looked after by Dagmar. She is absolutely lovely and such a pleasure to chat with. Her hospitality was second to none—so warm and genuinely welcoming. In fact, we’ve decided to dine here for all three nights of our stay, simply because Dagmar made us feel so at home.

It’s clear that the leadership team, led by Ruairi the GM, is doing a fantastic job. From the front office to housekeeping and now the food and beverage team, the service has been seamless.

A huge thank you to Dagmar for making our first evening so special. We wish this hotel and the team all the very best!

Great Grinch Lunch!
Pros:

Had another great experience at voco at the grinch festive Sunday lunch! The hotel had organised a visit from the big man, alongside a kids DJ, activity packs, hot chocolate and a two course lunch.

This was really well delivered and we look forward to booking again next year!

Feels like home
Pros:

We really love this hotel and staff. We’ve stayed here about 5 times so far over the last year and gifted stays to family. The hotel lobby is modern and spacious. The rooms are so comfy and quiet. They are also very spacious with plenty of storage space. The added bonus is the bath in each room. Parking on site is secure and convenient. The hotel is about 10min walk from the city centre. On our most recent stay we really enjoyed our first meal in POMO and the service was fantastic…special thanks to Dagmar. We are looking forward to coming home at the end of December for a couple of nights. Thanks and well done to Paddy and the team!

Great Experience- Voco delivers.
Pros:

We really enjoyed our stay at Voco! The lobby is very welcoming and well decorated. Our rooms were large and comfortable— the only thing I would say is the carpets need a good cleaning. There were so many stains it really does lower the overall standard of the room. I will say the Nespresso machines in the room were a great touch.

Now, the highlight of staying was the breakfast buffet which was exceptional. Ton of selection from cold meats and cheeses to pastries and a full Irish breakfast- PLUS gluten free options. Impressive.

I do want to make a special shout out to Sharmin. They say that it’s the people which make or break the hospitality experience. And without question Sharmin made our experience! She was professional, helpful, made an effort to connect with us and just paid attention- often checking in to see if there was anything she could get for us etc…. Thanks Sharmin for making us feel so welcome!

Good but could do better
Pros:

I stayed here for business in November 2025. I had stayed many times in the same hotel in its previous incarnation as a Radisson as well so I suppose I knew what to expect. The hotel was in a pretty poor state at the end of the previous Radisson lifecycle so the Voco has to be given a lot of credit for renovating the majority of the hotel - the lobby is inviting and the ground floor thoroughly updated and cleaned. Everything else is where it was previously. The large restaurant / breakfast area is also in the same location.

The accommodation floors are also cleaned up a bit, although scuff marks and tired paintwork were present. The room I had was one of the large rooms that have a large series of window overlooking the pond (full of rubbish as always). It was spacious, the carpet had been replaced and the bed was clean and comfortable. I slept well and worked from the small desk provided. I appreciated the many USB (B and C) sockets in the room and the coffee machine / kettle.

The bathroom was fine, but clearly had had little more than a cleanup since the handover - there was black grout and discoloured tiling in most of the joints. It didn’t stop me from enjoying the room but it would be remiss not to mention it.

Breakfast was a tale of two halves. The food was good, varied and hot. The kitchen used to be “open” but now has been closed off using a very ugly girder and a set of wingnuts on each end. It really could do with the something less brutalist. Staff weren’t always on top of things - there was no bread knife and when I asked for one I got a table knife and when I asked again I got a cheese knife. So something went wrong with the setup or the washing up. Minor points all of them but worth looking into.

Finally (and this was also the case when the hotel had a different name) the drains / bathroom / room had a pretty unpleasant smell when I got into the room. I called down and the receptionist kindly offered to move me or have the bathroom cleaned. I opened some windows and let the room breathe. I told the receptionist at the time that it wasn’t a big deal but they should look into it. So, not a showstopper but a maintenance issue.

Checkout was fast and efficient as was the booking of a taxi. I would stay here again for location and hope my comments are taken in the spirit they are expressed in.
