Pros:

Excellent location. Walking distance to the city center and the harbor. Check-in and check-out were seamless. Our room was spacious and warm, even without heating. We loved the large bathroom. Great neighborhood.

Cons:

The bed could have been more comfortable. Maybe with an extra set of pillows. The bathroom got flooded on the second day, but we unclogged the shower drain and fixed it.

Violation of privacy
Pros:

The quality of the accommodation and the service did not meet expectations, and I want to highlight several serious issues.

First, one leg of the bed was broken, which caused the bed to stand crooked and made it very difficult to sleep for the entire stay. Second, the sink was clogged and did not function properly.

The most serious issue was a violation of our right to privacy and quiet enjoyment of the rented space. We were informed by message that a plumber would arrive after 4 PM to fix the sink; however, we were on a group trek at that time and unable to respond to or confirm this message. We checked in to the apartment around 7 PM and, having received no further contact, reasonably assumed the matter had been resolved or postponed. At around 9:30 PM, while we were asleep, a plumber entered the room without any additional warning and without our consent. Sending a one-way notification message does not constitute permission or consent to enter a guest’s private accommodation. Consent requires an actual, confirmed agreement from the guest — not merely the act of sending a message that goes unanswered. We never acknowledged, confirmed, or agreed to that specific access time, and the actual entry occurred more than four hours after the time stated in the message, at 9:30 PM, while we were asleep and undressed. Entering an occupied private room under these circumstances — without confirmed consent and at a time not agreed upon — is a serious breach of a guest’s basic right to privacy and undisturbed use of paid accommodation.

Combined with the physical defects in the apartment (broken bed, clogged sink), this incident seriously undermined our trust in this host. I would not recommend this accommodation unless the host guarantees proper, confirmed consent before anyone enters a guest’s room, rather than relying on unanswered notifications as a substitute for permission.

Very convenient and welcoming apartment
Pros:

Location can't be beat. And even with the close proximity to the action, it was quiet at night. We were 4 sisters, so it was ok to share a bed and pullout couch. The unit was clean and large enough for all our luggage and supplies we needed. We had a few questions which I put into the chat feature and I received responses quickly. Parking was fairly easy, though, unlike other reviews, there was not a lot available when we were coming back from excursions. We needed to dive around a few blocks to find a vacant spot. Kitchen had enough plates, cups and bowls for our breakfast needs. Overall, would highly recommend.

Cons:

Only drawbacks were the bathroom sink didn't drain very well. It would back up and fill while brushing teeth or washing hands. Also, it would be nice to have at least a small wardrobe or dresser to put a few things away. There was no storage space in the room. There were hooks on the wall for coats, but that was all.

A great last night stay in Iceland at the Swan house.
Pros:

It’s location was excellent and the room was very comfortable. It made for a nice stay our last night in Iceland. It was very close to many restaurants and all the sights one would want to see. Excellent parking
As well in a nearby ramp. The owner was so helpful and responded quickly.

Cons:

As with all properties we stayed at, and a very minor thing. The bathroom need more racks or hooks to hang things on.

I knew it was an apartment style, but as apartments are, we faced into and across to other apartments so privacy was something to be aware of.

Pros:

Location super convenient and we were also able to find parking nearby. Staff is responsive and helpful.

Cons:

Toilet was somewhat smelly in the basement studio and there were no blackout curtains in the living area with the extra bed. The heating in the living area could be turned off as well so it was too hot to sleep in even with the window opened.
