Another excellent stay.
Pros:

Another fantastic stay at the Santana, we have stayed at this Hotel on four occasions now,and have never been let down.we always request a certain room,and touch wood ,the management have never let us down. The room cleaning is exceptional, and always clean towels, and the room smells fresh.the food in the Restsurant is always hot, with good choice, and the Service from the whole team,is fantastic,the tables are cleared straight away,and all the Restaurant staff are friendly, and efficient the hotel is well positioned for either Qawra or Bugiba. And is also very handy for the bus station. The hotel is getting a much needed refurbishment and we cant wait to return in october. Couple from North Yorkshire.UK.

Lovely Hotel
Pros:

Lovely Hotel,very central for everything. I have stayed at this hotel as a solo traveller and also with my sister as returning guests. The staff are always very attentive. On our recent stay in October our flight had been delayed by a couple of hours,so we were late arrivals, we checked in and went to our room, then decided we would pop to the little supermarket next door to get some water and snacks on our return we realised we had locked ourselves out of the room and couldn't remember the room number, Triston on reception was amazing he gave us another key and told us our room number yet again,he couldnt have been more helpful,really nice guy. Yes the hotel is in need of some renovation,but overall it was clean and tidy. We were half board plus, plenty of choice for breakfast, and always something tasty for the evening meal in the restaurant. There were the odd guests however that thought taking food from the breakfast bar( for their snacks during the day, you know who you are.) was ok, Despite the fact there was a visual sign on entering the restaurant stating the removal of food from the premises was NOT permitted,the restaurant staff were informed about this but appeared to turn a blind eye.
Looking forward to returning sometime in the future to the new updated Santana.

Overall a lovely stay
Pros:

Stayed at Santana hotel as returning guests for 2weeks in October 2025. It’s centrally located for the bus terminus so easy to catch a bus to take you to other parts of the island.
Staff are lovely, the hotel is clean but starting to look a bit shabby round the edges, it’s well in need of the refurbishment that’s taking place over the winter months.
The food is great, always something you can eat, even for fussy eaters.
It is b&b or half board+ accommodation.
Only negative I would say is restaurant manager and staff need to step up to the mark regarding guests taking food out of the restaurant in cool bags & containers, shame on these food thief’s.
We will return after the refurbishment to see the transformation.
Overall a lovely stay.

Enjoyable & pleasant stay
Pros:

Just spent a week's holiday (16 - 23 October) with a friend in a twin room at this hotel. Firstly the hotel location is great, there is a chemist, restaurants, general shops & the bus terminal so very convenient. We found the staff very welcoming, friendly & english spoken throughout. My friend who has a dairy free diet was superbly accommodated right from the word go, we were introduced to Anton who ensured that she had her own special dessert each evening nothing was too much trouble. The staff in the restaurant were all brilliant super efficient & Aileen the welcoming host was so friendly. The food & selection was really lovely with wine, beer, soft drinks included. We did use both the rooftop & indoor pool which we enjoyed. However better provision for changing facilities would need to be provided, I found to change after the swim in the ladies toilet was always wet due to it being more of a wet room geared for disabled use, also a clock would be good for time. While our room was quite basic it was clean as was the rest of the hotel. We did query how to adjust our air conditioning but were told that the hotel control it & it knocks off at certain times, so as a result we didn't have air conditioning for our stay thankfully it wasn't in the peak of summer. There is a refurbishment planned so hopefully the rooms will get some attention. The hair dryer is on the wall in the bathroom, my advice is bring your own, they are useless. Just one other small thing is while tea, coffee was provided there were no biscuits, didn't matter to us as we had our own but anyway just saying.

A fantastic hotel with excellent staff! It never disappoints.
Pros:

This was our third stay at the Hotel Santana in 18 months. We went with Jet2 Holidays and stayed for 28 nights this time.
My wife and I keep coming back here because the staff are so friendly and helpful. We have got to know the staff well over our three trips.
The hotel is in a good location - handy for shops, supermarket, pharmacy, restaurants, pubs and the bus station.
The resort has plenty to offer but is less busy than Paceville, Sliema and St Julians which attract more of a party crowd.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable with excellent showers, a fridge and a safe.
We stayed half board plus - bed, breakfast, dinner and unlimited wine, beer and soft drinks at dinner.
We love the food there - it is buffet style with lots and lots of choice. The dinners might not suit very plain eaters, but there is always a cold buffet, soup, fish, meat and vegetable dishes. There are Maltese specialities some nights. Typically 5 choices in addition to cold buffet and soup.
There is entertainment in the bar most nights and the musicians are of a very professional standard. Also karaoke and a music quiz.
The hotel is closing on 31 October for a major refurbishment which is due to be completed by 31 March 2026. We understand that there are plans for a larger swimming pool, rooftop bar, an a la carte restaurant and an enlarged cafe/bar on the gound floor.
My wife and I have booked to return in May 2026. We would not consider any other hotel in Malta as we always receive such a warm welcome at the Santana. The staff cannot do enough for you. We always have a lovely time.

Never a 4 star.
Pros:

First of all, i did witness the appalling behaviour, towards the woman in reception with impaired vision. We challenged the male receptionist about his behaviour, and he came down to speak to us, offering excuses, and pointing out about her complains, during the week. All i can say is, i saw what he did, and i saw her hold out of hand, and i saw him slam the money on the counter. She may of used bad language, which i could not hear, but i did hear him using fowl language towards her. We told him that is was totally unacceptable, but in all honestly he did not seem concerned. I suggest that the hotel investigate his behaviour, and take action. Now as for the hotel, we were late due to a baggage problem at the airport, and arrived at the hotel around 22.00 hours, by which time it was raining, because of the delay, we had missed the evening meal, that was part of the half board. We were told that no provision had been made to provide any sort of food. And it was suggested that we go to a certain kebab house. I have to admit, that this was a first, having been to many hotels, every one of them offered something for a late arrival. I feel everything in this hotel, is budget, and had a budget feel, yet the price was not budget. I am aware that this to due a refurbishment, but that is no excuse for using a area near the roof pool, as a dumping ground for all the rubbish, and for all to see. We had rattan furniture on our balcony, which well past its sell by date,and the sun beds were not much better. In the court yard area, the seats were broken, and in many cases totally not fit for purpose. The towels were changed regularly. but in all honestly they were almost see through, again done on a budget. The room design was poor, and no thought had been given to it. Almost impossible for my wife to dry her hair, as no sockets were near the mirror. On the plus side the cleaners did a great job, considering the issues they faced. There were no issues with the food, both breakfast and evening meal, and the restaurant staff, were very good. I am lucky enough to have been to many hotels abroad, and i can say that, there in no way this can be classed as a 4 star, in my opinion. I have also traveled with Jet2 on many occasions, and i am surprised they use this hotel. I am aware o many great reviews, and people say how excellent it is, who you choose to listen to, is entirely up to you. I can only say how i saw it. But on a plus side i did like Malta, and there are many better hotels, you should think of staying at.

Pros:

I have never experienced such disappointment during an hotel stay until I stayed here.

This is not 4 star hotel for sure. The cleaning was less than basic, they only changed the towels. The room floor was not swept during our stay either.

Some staff were polite and welcoming. However, there were on a few occasions when particular staff showed quite poor hospitality skills which actually left me feeling very uncomfortable at times.

The food on offer was alright and that's all I enjoyed about my stay here.

I would not recommend this hotel.

Not bad stay - Ended BADLY!
Pros:

I visited Hotel Santana with three good friends to continue my birthday celebration as a blind/disabled guest but very much a seasoned traveller.
As always, I introduced myself to management before my arrival to ensure that they were forewarned about my disability. Although Vincent and Caroline responded positively to emails sadly neither of them considered it an inclusive thing to do by introducing themselves to me personally once I arrived…..not even when I requested for them to meet me ☹
The hotel was filled with lovely people and this is what made this trip great – most staff were friendly but I still felt that given my disability there could have been more support which during my stay at other hotels has come naturally. We were disappointed with the level of housekeeping – whilst towels were changed daily it appeared limited cleaning in the room was carried out. The food was good mostly – there was some reluctance to create individual dishes liked poached eggs or soft fried eggs and there was no bar staff on the rooftop which meant for the first day having to go from 6th floor to ground floor every time we wanted to get a drink…not easy when you’re blind. In the end we bought our own drinks to the rooftop as it didn’t seem like the staff were understanding.
The final straw was on our last night having arrived back in late and wanting to redeem our beach towel vouchers I was refused a refund back to my direct debit which is where the deposits were taken from in the first place. Having explained to the male receptionist that being blind means I do not get out and about in the shops to use cash therefore a refund back to my card was of strong preference, yet this was still denied. After requesting to speak to someone more senior (Jonas) once again there was no empathy for my disability or explanation. So, frustrated I conceded to hold my hand out for him to put the cash in my hand, and extremely rudely, he placed the cash back on the counter. I am sure in ayone’s book this would be considered rude and disrespectful but for me who couldn’t see where this cash was placed, this was beyond disgusting behaviour.
I will admst that by this stage I swore in frustration but what I didn’t gamble on was that he was going to swear back. Given his position as a customer facing individual both me and my friends and other guests that I could hear were totally and utterly stunned at his outburst and this made the ending to my birthday celebrations extremely sour.
I have worked in the services industry for over 40 years in various industries, some very challenging and I would never dream of swearing at a customer – especially when someone is more vulnerable than myself. Vincent and Caroline for all the nice words and supportive words that you offered prior to my arrival I am afraid they meant nothing, and I am outraged that you employ staff who do not have the skills diffuse a situation.

Holiday Group Trip.
Pros:

Stayed here as a part of Group Trip Holiday. Hotel definitely not 4 star. Location is central. Food, Breakfast & Dinner was good, but not great selection. Leisure facilities was fine. But Roof Top pool needs a good clean / refurbishment. Room was small. View from the room was construction site. Staff seemed nice enough. Just be careful your personal items in your room. Make sure you have no valuables around the room. Would I stay here again if visiting. No.

Pros:

Avoid this hôtel at all cost. This is one or the worst hôtel I have ever been. I left this place and booked another hotel without refunding. It was so awful. Air conditioning not working. Workout in the hotel was noisy. Definitely not a place to go

Pros:

Booked a suite was huge and spacious. The room could do with some maintenance but understand that they have a planned refurbishment this year however to be honest nothing major and did not interfere with our holiday. What makes this hotel is the staff team they are amazing I cannot express in words how great they are. A priceless asset shout out to BENOD who went out of his way to make our holiday special. FOOD was great selection and freshness catering for everyone including a children's menu. Buffet style unsure what they can do to improve the layout toaster and food in same area so gets a bit busy. A good idea would be spaced out more and a barrier that you walk down to get the buffet so forces ignorant holidaymakers to queue up instead of coming from behind and pushing in. No reflection on hotel at all just people who seem to think that all you can eat buffet will run out! ALSO recommend the spa had a great massage there. Along with Popeye village and the water park.
Would I come again yes in a heartbeat. Thank you to all the fabulous people at which

Great rooms with some exceptions such as;
Handheld Shower handle has seen better days but I understand a refurbishment is in the works.

There's no clock in the downstairs pool with kids, timing how long left till dinner etc a bit of a hassle but its fine

Good location near to bus station.

The service was phenomenal 👏 especially the waiting staff in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner, they are always there to help and somehow already there with napkins with when one of the kids spill a drink or make a mess and even quicker when a glass was smashed. But one person stands out the most Binod he has been so very attentive to issues that arise and for our care and always has a nice attitude which is a relief with some other "guests" that prowl the halls.

On top of all of that he has always made an effort for the kids of the table and interacts with them when he can.

Truly appreciate and thank him for his service during my stay.

Beautiful food and great service.
Pros:

We stayed as a family with two young children. While the family room didn’t automatically include meals (which we paid for on arrival), the food was absolutely brilliant — we couldn’t fault it! A special mention to Binod, who greeted our children warmly every time we visited the restaurant and always made sure we had everything we needed.

We were a little disappointed with the condition of our room, as some tiles were broken and it’s definitely in need of a refresh — which we were told is planned for November. However, the kindness and excellent service from Binod truly made up for it and left us with a positive overall experience.

One note I would suggest please pop a clock in the swimming pool area.

Definitely Not 4 Star Hotel or Value For Money!
Pros:

This hotel is in a good location for transport & beach & the views from roof top are lovely. These are the only positive things I have to say about it having stayed there for two sweltering weeks in June. We were denied air conditioning as it was only turned on by the management at specific times. We spent most of our nights on the balcony trying to keep cool as room was 35°. Water was turned off on certain evenings so toilet couldn't be flushed!! Reception staff gave no reasonable answer as to why this was happening.
The food was just edible, hot dishes were usually only warm and recycled the following day onto the salad bar. We booked HB but usually just had breakfast & ate out.
We paid in excess of 2k so definitely don't feel it was value for money & definitely not 4 star. I would not recommend this place.

Amazing food, lovely staff, tiny room.
Pros:

Food was great. We were only BB but the breakfast was amazing every day.

Most of the staff were lovely. Especially the blonde lady who works in the bar by reception.

The room was tiny for the price we paid, we also requested a twin and it was a double room so it was a lot smaller.
