Marin Hotel

We had an absolutely phenomenal view of the port from our room, beyond what we could have ever expected. The room itself was decent but I couldn’t get the shower to turn on and there was some mold in the corners of the bathtub, not too big of a deal for a one night stay but we did let them know about it before we left. Breakfast was tasty and the hotel is perfectly located with a short walk to the port.

Demetrius at Reception was terrific! He spelled out perfectly all of our enquiries (where to park, where to eat, how to get to the ferry, etc.).

Hotel is in a great location next to the Harbor and the center of the city. The staff are excellent, and the morning breakfast buffet was excellent as well. Our room (with huge balcony) faced the port, and the view was breathtaking (similar to the view from the breakfast room). The room itself was fine but had poor lighting but good A/C. Bathroom as well was dull (color scheme), and poor lighting but clean. BTW the airport is close by and the planes take off predominantly toward the city harbor and they are close and loud (impacts all hotels and residents). We would stay again without hesitation.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was too small, especially the shower… I couldn’t move without hitting the walls.
The safe fitting edges were sharp and I hit my head to it a couple of times. The room was tiny itself as well. The location was good and near the port and bus station.

The check in process was easy, lots of restaurants within walking distance and very friendly reception that spoke English. Definitely recommend if you are transporting via ferry, as it is within walking distance.

Some people at the front desk is fine but some is quite rude. Breakfast is too simple. I was not told that the bottle water in the refrigerator is 1 euro each until check-out. I did not receive any VIP benefit.

Great spot to catch the ferry - only a short walk

It was fine because it is across from the port but it’s a very basic and not particularly clean hotel. It works for short stays when catching a ferry.

Clean room and close to center.

I chose this property due to its proximity to the ferry terminal and only stayed one night. It was about a 15 minute walk from the ferry to the property, and check-in was easy. Breakfast options were plentiful and I especially appreciated the cappuccino machine and fresh-squeezed orange juice. Our room overlooked the harbor with a view of the fort. The hotel is no-frills but clean and has everything you need!

Affordable and convenient hotel in walking distance from the ferry port. The breakfast views were stunning! I was easily able to explore Heraklion at night, then enjoyed a nice breakfast and walked over to my ferry first thing in the morning.
