Hotel Exarchion

Two colleagues of mine and I booked three rooms in this cosy hotel, which had recent works inside to improve its services. I can testify that, within its category, it's a very good hotel despite the previous reviews and the fact that we have been told that the quarter is not nice. My room was very clean and everything was working. The staff is professional and very friendly. I recommend this hotel.

We had a nice stay at Exarchion. The hotel is a little outdated, but generally clean and cosy. It has a wonderful terrace on the roof, with a nice view across the whole city. We had the surprise of finding an apartment instead of a triple room. The rooms aren`t that small as I had expected. There is daily cleaning, changing of the sheets and there is a nice breakfast for those who have chosen it as a meal plan: boiled eggs, cheese, ham, marmelade, toast, coffee, orange juice, water.
The staff is a little bit "cranky", but I have nothing bad to say about them. They are hard working people.
The area is filled with Police, so you shouldn`t have to fear, there is a variety of bars, shops and restaurants nearby with relatively good prices. The Acropolis is close, as well as Omonia Square.
I would come back here, that`s for sure.

This hotel is in desperate need of an overhaul. Paperthin walls can hear all noise from next room and upstairs and downstairs guests. Bathroom old hand held shower with shower curtain. Extremely noisy place with traffic and people. Breakfast very average, location is good that's about all that's going for it. You get what you pay for my recommendation find somewhere else

The hotel is in a good location. However, the facilities are quite old and not in good condition. The fridge is actually not working and shower is broken.

The restaurant is rarely good and the services are nice as well.

The hotel has the minimum for a decent stay. The local is convenient to get to various attractions, but there are cops stationed outside of the front door, so it may not be in a safe area. The beds in our room are not clean. There are bed bugs. We complained to the front desk and the guy just asked us to move to another room! Check your bed and pillows next time you stay in this hotel,

The staff were really nice especially the male receptionist. Upon arrival he gave me two keys and told us (my mum, sis and I) to choose which one we liked most. Once we were heading back to the airport he called us and thought we left one if the bags at the hotel. Even though it was not ours, my family and I really appreciate it the fact that he took time and called us. Shows great dedication and care!

What I did not like:
1. Breakfast was always the same, either crossiant, cereal or bread. There were no toasters or variety of gluten free products.

2. Shower was very small (less than 1m by 1m) and shower cubicle not well attached. Plus toilet and sink were exactly next to each other which caused discomfort especially for the feet.

3. It's neighbourhood was not the best neighbourhood. It was protected by guards in case of a riot.

Apart of having nice staff, the beds were really comfortable. Next to it, there is a small shop which sells pizza, burgers and hot dogs. There are also some restaurants and cafes nearby.

Loved the location, anyone that says the area isn’t great just need to get out a bit more. Was easy walking distance to the sights, and the amount of great restaurants on the street is fantastic. Immense vegan options nearby. The hotel is simple yet comfortable. The bathrooms could use updating. Good working aircon (not noisy). I visited with my teenage daughter and felt safe at all times. Our room was overlooking the street on 2nd floor and we didn’t notice any nighttime noise, which I have seen mentioned.

Hard to sleep at night with the elevators making the bell orb ding noise when reaching its floors. The staff should make the rooms and hotel building much quieter for sleep.

Friendly staff and helpful. This is definitely Budget hotel.. no TV, fridge, kettle etc. . Rather noisy street of a night time. Bed was hard as a rock… walkable to hop on /off bus stop.

Check-in was a seemless process. The room was clean, but the shower only has a curtain and a very shallow wall surrounding it. It wouldn't have been an issue if the shower drain wasn't a bit clogged; water ran over the short wall into the bathroom drain. I liked the breakfast that was included; it wasn't super fancy, but they had hard boiled eggs which I appreciated. Also liked the roof top balcony. Just be aware that this hotel is in the city center section of Athens and very noisy at all hours of the night; I had trouble sleeping.

Basic hotel offering excellent value for money which exceeded our expectations.plenty of restaurants bars close by. Transport links to the airport and other city areas within easy walking distance. Staff and locals made us feel very welcome.

Welcoming hotel, helpful and kind staff. Clean and with all conforts. It is possible to admire the landscape from the roof top on the 7 floor, terrace in wich you can also eat or drink providing you by the bar of the hotel. Location is good, near to the Acropoli and the mains archeological sites. Near Aioulou Way , where you can find shops, bar, cafe and restaurants. It's a zone with nightlife and daily life, music, no stop.

Decent location in Athens is the only positive about this review. Outdated room that was fine for sleeping which to be fair was cleaned every day. Staff couldn’t crack a smile and didn’t make an effort to engage which didn’t feel very welcoming at all.

You get for what you pay 7 days and they never change towers and sheets on bed only collecting the rubbish out side every day and night. Police all over all wall on buildings full graffiti very nice restaurantes there I use couple off days This one atitamos very recommended this area not that bad I ll go there again whit different hotel
