The hotel was located within walking distance of Forbidden City, Tiennemen Sq, a subway station and plenty of shops and dining options. Inside the hotel was quiet and safe. The room was spacious and had a good bed with soft mattress. It was kept clean and front desk was helpful. I would return here for sure next trip.
Best value property in the area but the hotel common areas and rooms could use an upgrade. Great location though
My friend and I decided to book this property after seeing that the reviews on Expedia were not too bad but we had a shock when we arrived at the hotel. Our journey to the hotel from Beijingnan railway station took twice the expected duration due to road closures for the 80th anniversary Victory Parade and the road closures continued throughout our entire stay at the hotel. It was either extremely difficult or impossible to book a ride from the main entrance of the hotel - when we left the hotel to get to the airport on the last day of our trip, we even had to lug our heavy luggages to another area a few streets away before we could book a ride as the streets near the hotel were all closed off.
Throughout our entire stay at the hotel, it was nothing but unpleasant. The water pressure in the shower was so weak I could quite literally count the number of drops of water dripping down the showerhead and showering felt like a chore. When we informed the staff about the issue with the shower head, he told us to just bear with it since it is an old property. The toilet bowl could not flush properly and was clogged almost every day throughout our stay. Also, the housekeeping staff did not change our bedsheets despite our request even though there was a noticeable stay on one of the bedsheets. The bed itself was rock hard and sleeping on it made my back ache.
I don't usually write reviews unless the place is very good or bad but I will not be recommending this place to anyone
It’s right beside forbidden city, Tiananmen Square. It’s a short walk to 景山公园as well. Very good location with reasonable price.
Room is outdated but ok.
Will come back again if come back to Beijing again.
This hotel offers wonderful service in a great location. Staff went above and beyond to help us get a taxi during a very congested time. They also provided excellent guidance during our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Great location. Easy walking distance to major attractions. Historic building. Nice staff.
Good
Very helpful staff members.
It located in the heart of touristic site of Beijing. Walking distance from shops, restaurants and subway.
The location of the hotel is perfect . It is close to the subway, restaurants and points of interest. I would have given 5 stars had it not been for the lack of warmth and friendliness of the staff. They do not smile at all nor do they greet the guests as they enter and exit the hotel (which should be a standard). They do provide assistance when requested and I was very satisfied with the assistance provided but a friendly demeanor goes a long way and doesn't cost extra!
Staff unhelpful
The bed is quite firm and works wonders to release the back pain. The fridge doesn’t work though. The breakfast is really nice with lots variety of vegetables.
Nice hotel , close to forbidden palace and plenty of food close by
When we got there at check in , there was a little confuse, somehow they have hard time finding our reservation but at the end they fount it ! The people at reception are very friendly, nice & go out of their way to help you! Especially 胡博,when we tried to buy a bus ticket to MUTIANYU GREAT WALL, they need a Chinese phone # but we only had Hong Kong SIM card #, 胡博didn’t hesitate used his person phone # for us to book the ticket, we were so grateful for his help & provide us a peace of mind! We would definitely recommend them to our friends!
I like the location and property...
Ai conditioner did not work the last two nights
Highlight of the hotel:
- Great location, easy to go to the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, as well as shopping and dining options at Wang Fu Jing.
- Easy to go to other places in Beijing, whether it's the Summer Palace to the West, Bird's Nest to the north, or other shopping areas to the east.
- Clean, good basic utility such as hot water boiler, tea bags, instant coffee, slippers, USB and USB-c charging stations etc.
Something to look out for:
- Bed is harder than expected, it wasn't a problem for us.
- No conditioner, and shampoo was a little hotel sized tube. If you are keen on good quality hair wash product, best to bring your own or buy it in a nearby grocery stores.
Close to Palace of Museum
Great location and nice hotel to stay
