VR Auckland City

First floor room and when balcony door open very loud from.street noise.
Shower door didn't close and water leaked out.
Glasses dirty and chipped.
Hallway smelt.
Walls had plaster on them not sanded and pai Ted. Whole room shabby and tired.

Parking and room require attention

When I arrived at the Reception desk the girl just stared at me and didn’t say anything. I actually had to say “ I am here to check in, Judith Kenny. There was no smile, no greeting at all. She just handed me the door card and said the wifi password is inside the little card folder. So not a good start.
The unit was very spacious although the air conditioner was not very well placed as the bed was around the other side of the wall which got no air from it. I turned off the air conditioner and opened the windows instead to get a breeze. When booking I requested a high floor away from the lift. I got one away from the lift but it was on the second lowest floor with a view over a carpark and big building with a rusty looking tin roof with air conditioners on it. on the morning I was leaving I intended to wash my hair, however found that there wasn’t even a hair dryer. The TV was very tiny and you would have trouble watching it if you were laying on the bed. I was there on my own but if two people were there one of them would have to climb over the end of the bed to get around it as there was only about a 20cm gap between the bed and the wall.
The bathroom looked a bit tired and there was a piece of the floor missing as you walked in. I don’t know how it is rated 4 stars and I was really disappointed. I marked good on your survey but it was actually between fair and good mainly because of the location. I would not recommend staying there to anybody. I actually stayed at the Ibis Central Budget hotel when I arrived in Auckland a few days before. It was only 3 stars but was excellent and better than the VR and I received a really good welcome when I arrived unlike the VR.

Unclean. Nothing like the pictures. Mouldy. Unchanged sheets. Stained sheets. Lied about refund being provided. Definitely not a 4 star hotel, 2 star at most.

Dans notre cas (serait-ce parce que la réservation a été faite via Booking.com ?), nous avions sur le registre de l’hôtel une chambre au rdc. Nous avons reçu une chambre lumineuse au 1er… MAIS : pas de porte au lave-linge, de l’eau résiduel dans le lave-vaiselle et enfin une bouilloire électrique avec un fond brûlé et une casserole dans le même état. Dommage, ça aurait pu être un bon rapport/qualité prix sans cela

no service in the room the whole time we were there from the 2nd to 11th, except one day when i asked ,and they just dropped off towels and emptied one small bin that was it ,they left the bathroom bin full ,nothing else was done after i had asked to have the room done ,because there was no service ,we ran out of toilet paper and towels that i had to keep going down the the front desk and ask for ,i should not have had to do that ,the product bathing bottles in the shower and on the sink were empty the whole time we were there, never filled ,the dish washer out of order ,not fixed, the bed was to separate beds pushed together to make one ,but weren't pushed together properly and were pushed on one side of the room ,so access to the bed was hard on one side ,asked several times about fixing this ,then they finally did, about 2 days later , the stove look rusted on top , actually left a day earlier had enough ,was actually not a bad hotel if look after their clients and rooms

Air con didn't work. Reception English limited. Couldn't advise when to fix and 27 degrees in room. No apologue or compensation. No car parking but told to find parking space down the road. Accommodation expensive but also during sail GP so understand. Not one to whinge but thought duty to advise others of you get what you pay for.

3.00pm check in time is a little late, but the desk clerk kindly allowed me to check in earlier when the room was ready.

We had no soap and when we spoke to the front desk, they said we had to wait for housekeeping the next day. Housekeeping didn’t end up coming so we had to purchase it ourself.

The after hours check in. We rang the number for over an hour. We got thru once and they let us in and then hung up on us without giving us the safe code. We tried calling them over ten times and left call back messages twice with no luck. We only got the keys by contacting our taxi driver (whom has an associate with the hotel) who gave us the code. There was no reply nor apology from the hotel

There were mould in the wall and toilet wasn't clean enough. Also it was out of body wash so we asked the lady working at the front, she said someone will bring it to the room but noone did.

The air conditioning was broken, the shower leaked, snack wrapper and crumbs left on sill behind curtain.
Kitchen sink mixer loose and wobbly.
No oven equipment,
Minimal kitchen equipment.
Stale room smell.
No parking for guests.
Lack of maintenance obvious - tired and shabby rooms.

Room was in a major state of disrepair and was not very clean overall.
