Star Hotel Chiang Mai

Hotel was very clean. Staff was fantastic. Close to shops, owner markets ideal place to stay in chambai

Decent stay with nearby night markets. Walkable distance.

Very inconvenient in and out of hotel. Very limited parking and poor service

Nice hotel very close to the night market. The breakfast is ok but nothing special although it is cheap. Nice and quiet with a pool on the 2nd flooor.

Decent pool area, if/when in the sun... Hotel seems to have been renovated in select areas, but it retains the classic Thailand feel -- especially in the breakfast room!

Apart from a few issues with the WiFi the hotel was great, located right in the middle of all the action yet very quiet inside. Good price would stay again.

I like the location all the staff were excellent to deal with good hotel for the money second stay there . As far as complaints I couldn’t find anything to complain about.

Fantastic location near attractions and night markets.Superb front counter and all round service. Very decent breakfast buffet with live stations. Gym is provided by the opposite parent hotel, movenpick hotel. Spacious room with in room safe. Clean and large bed.

Shower seems to be too hot or too cold. Would need hangers in the room. No laundry price list in the room.

they build a new wing to the old one and closed the old one

- in the picture the rooms looks like the old one but they are smaller!|

Wi-fi may not be the be-all and end-all of your trip, but if you're doing any type of business online and you need that service, then do not stay in this hotel. This was my second stay here; on the first occasion the internet failed for hours on several floors. However, that time they moved me to another part of the hotel and I was able to continue my work. I considered that to be an isolated occurrence. But during this stay the internet failed again completely for three hours, my online meetings could not take place and, what was worse, nobody at the other end knew what had happened and were of course anxious. That tells me that this is an ongoing issue with this hotel but rather than, for example, changing the internet service provider, they are of the view that the guests who have paid for a room with wi-fi included, will simply accept that the service cannot be reliably provided appearing to care little about the disruption that can cause. Given that this is the second occasion, I shall of course not stay here again, nor would I recommend the hotel to anybody who is in a similar position to my own. I stay in hotels all over Thailand with never a single problem with internet access; the Star Hotel in this respect is exceptional and, therefore, should be avoided.

I stayed here for a month and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. I will always have my hotel in Chiang Mai now.

All the staff are friendly, welcoming, helpful and very hardworking. They are happy to help in whatever way they can. The maids came everyday and were cleaning experts.

The room was very comfortable. One day one of the maids noticed one of the lights wasn't quite working and within minutes the repairman was at the door to repair.

Since it was Covid time, they brought breakfast to my room everyday. They were always punctual and smiling.

Excellent location as well-within walking distance to Big C, mcDonalds etc..

Highly recommend to anyone and I will be back next time I am in Chiang Mai.

Nothing big on unique. Just needs some updates on carpeting and bathroom toiletries were not supplied. Only a pack of cotton seabs and small pink shampoo. Just a place for a short night stay.
