Upon checking into our room, the front desk staff noticed our room wasn't suitable for the 5 of us who were staying. The staff was kind, friendly, and out of the kindness of their heart offered to put us into the family suite at no additional cost. Of course we were very very grateful. The room itself was very spacious, even with 5 of us, but there were obvious signs of disrepair throughout. The bathroom was the biggest disappointment by far. The bathroom sink vanity was not only falling apart--it was quite literally falling off of the wall posing a serious hazard for our curious 2 year old. Even still, we didn't want to make a fuss about it and have to change rooms as my wife was very much looking forward to the spacious jetted spa tub for her nightly soak. Once we settled in, got the kids to bed, and filled up the large tub; pure disappointment was felt when pressing the spa button on but receiving not so much as a bubble. That's correct, the "spa" bit was not only non-functional, but the jets were all crusted with a yellowish-brown mixture of what I assume was scum and dead skin from previous bathers. My wife was mortified. She exited the tub, then proceeded to spend 80 minutes scrubbing each individual jet port with a toothbrush. Anyone who had seen the soot filled water after she was done would have certainly lost their supper. It was DISGUSTING. Still, since we had already taken care of the situation, we decided we would report the issue but decline any offer to move rooms. I notified the front desk of the issues with the broken and disgusting spa tub, and was told the maintenance crew would come by the following day and take a look. This was on the first evening of our weeklong stay, and maintenance never came to the third floor, let alone our room to fix our bathroom issues. We were very disappointed, but thought it was worth staying since we didn't have to actually pay for the "upgrade" to the family suite. Fast forward four days, and I get called by the front desk to come down and talk with them, which of course I obliged. When I get down to the desk, I'm greeted by a rather unpleasant woman who tells me that because of my extending of our stay via the 3rd party we used for our original booking that they would require me to pay an additional "upgrade" fee of $136.00! I had already paid $108 for the night via the 3rd party bringing the total of a single night to a whopping $244. I paid only $5XX for the previous 5 nights in the exact same room, and now they want me to pay nearly half of that amount for a single night?! I was absolutely shocked and felt as though I'd fallen into some extortion scheme and remain uncertain about the very same still. Had I known that the "free upgrade" to the family suite was eventually going to be much more expensive than "free" I would've declined the offer. Especially since the suite they put us in felt a lot less "suite" and a lot more motel 6. All together we spent a week in the same room, and the only help we received to address the issues of the room was the help we provided ourselves. Honestly, after all that my wife did in the bathroom, the hotel should be paying us rather than taking our money. We won't be returning.
Oh, and I nearly forgot! During our stay for 2 days the water and hot water were intermittently shut off without prior notification from hotel staff about upcoming repairs to the water system. During the repairs, our water turned a horrible brownish yellow color. This was mortifying as up to that point we were using the sink water to prepare bottles for our 2 year old! I called the staff who offered this tidbit of advice: just let the water run for a bit and it’ll clear up.
Well, we tried their advice. Shocking to say, it didn’t work.
1.Call the front desk ahead of time for a room for my family away from other customers so we don't get neighbors complaining or our room bothering ohers. Due to my Autistic child of being very loud, emotional and super hyper active. They gave us the best spot/room in the hotel.
2. Breakfast was amazing
3. Clean rooms
4. Only 10 minutes away from the hospital, that we get to visit our granddaughter everyday
Nothing, everything was just amazing at our stay there.
Great location, the room was big and breakfast was great! Staff was always friendly and welcoming.
During our stay they were putting in new carpets in. The loud banging of hammers during the day. Im sure the new carpets will look dashing
Loved that i didnt have to walk far to get on train...
Not bad. But was a little blan , needed some flavor..
My bathroom toilet was broken and clogged, and flooded my entire bathroom the entire stay. Had to keep going to front desk for plunger, dry clean towels and trying to find the hotels maintenance guy so I didn't have to keep doing the hotels job and being covered in feeces, toilet water. Couldn't even shower because my entire bathroom floor was flooded and no shampoo. No conditionor. No body wash.,I only got 1 tini bar of soap the entire stay. Demanded a full refund on my hotel and deposit I was promised I would get both back in full. Let's see if they keep their promises my fridge didnt work at all.
