It was a lovely property!
Great older place, good bones, with nice balcony rooms overlooking the ocean. Lobby needs a decorator to work with some of the cool stuff. Could be a great and inviting gathering place for piano and cocktails. Nice rooms, Good value and location.
Beautiful view. Pleasant staff and lots of dining in the area.
The hotel is situated less than a 10 minute stroll from the harbour, with great views across to Skopelos town. Little beach in front of hotel which was great for a sea swim.
Hotel is exceptionally clean. Very traditional in appearance, if a little dated but it made a nice change from the trend for ultra modern Mykonian white out that many Greek hotels are going for.
Staff were very friendly and approachable, from Reception to the Breakfast area.
Good choice at Breakfast: hot, cold, fresh fruit, pastries etc. Dining area never felt busy and was nice to have the outdoor terrace to sit on.
Garden view room was very spacious, clean and quiet. Yes it could do with a few minor touch ups but nothing major.
Pool area had plenty of sunbeds, we didn’t use the pool to swim but thought the pool tiles could do with a good clean.
Overall we would be happy to return to this hotel. It offers great value in a wonderful location. Just don’t expect an ‘all bells and whistles’ Four star, more a very good traditional Greek hotel.
Hotel is located just a short walk from the bus station and harbour area on the main coastal road, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby.
Hotel has a calm laid back vibe suited to a relaxing holiday, had the feeling of a tradition Greek family run hotel.
The rooms at the front of the hotel are a little more traditional and a little darker, but spacious with good air conditioning and very quiet.
Breakfast was simple and plentiful with the option to eat inside or on the terrace, overlooking the pool and bay.
The pool bar was friendly and had a great music selection, and was never at an excessive volume.
Overall we loved our stay here and would definitely stay again.
Lovely hotel overlooking the harbour. Lovely pool and bar, great service from George and Sofia. Easy walk to tavernas and port.
L'albergo è carino, semplice e molto pulito con una buona colazione. È molto tranquillo e con una bella vista sul mare.
We stopped in the Aeolos for 6 days in June. Rooms were comfortable, we had a sea view room which was quite spacious and had a huge amount of wardrobe space. Furniture is a bit brown and dated but is good quality. I found the beds to be a bit soft for my liking.
My only major concern with the hotel was the state of the bathroom in our room. On the first night I discovered the corner shower cubicle had a door missing which made it almost impossible to have a shower without getting the bathroom floor very wet. I reported the problem to reception but they just said “they knew about it” and couldn’t give me time for when it would be fixed. I can see no excuse for putting a customer into a room with a faulty shower, especially as the hotel wasn’t full at this stage. In the end it took 4 days for them to fix the shower.
When the shower was fixed it became clear how the door probably got broken in the first place. The cubicle with the door closed is tiny. Making it difficult to turn round without hitting the tap (and changing water temperature) and bending over was impossible. Also the water temperature seemed to vary whilst having a shower without touching the tap.
I found breakfast choice a little limited for a 4 star establishment, although what there was well prepared.
The pool are was nice with enough quality sun loungers and was set in nice grounds.
There is a pool bar open till 7pm but the bar internal to the property was not open whilst we were there, so you couldn’t use the hotel to socialise at night.
The hotel is in a good location about 15 minutes walk to the busy area of the town where most bars and restaurants are but there are also restaurants close to the hotel that were nice.
Overall I’s say the hotel was Ok but nothing special. The incident with the shower put me right off though.
Location of hotel very good , food average.
Our main concern was the amount of steps to room ,no lift available, would not recommend for anyone with mobility issues.
Staff excellent and very friendly.
The hotel is in a good frontline location. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. It's approximately a 10-15 minute flat walk into town. The hotel is very dated but clean. The pool area has good comfortable toppers on all sun beds. There aren't a great deal of sunbeds but the dates we were there we never had a problem getting one, this however might be different in the height of the season. The pool is clean but quite small and not particularly inviting. The poolside bar tender plays loud, predominantly rock type music throughout the day which was annoying as other than that it was a peaceful area. It is classed as a 4* hotel but I feel that due to the lack of facilities, it should be classed as 3* at best. Breakfast room is open 8am until 11am which was good however it appears that the breakfast is prepared at 8 and should you go in any later the 'hot' food was either luke warm or cold, although there is a small choice of food to choose from and there is also a good coffee machine.
Regarding Skopelos itself......Word of warning for families with young children..... although the resort is very quaint and feels safe, beware of the many scooters and motorbikes that ride through the small alleyways without a thought for any pedestrians.
Overall Skopelos is a lovely resort and the people are fabulous, some of the friendliest we've come across.
Average place cold showers
We stayed here for a week in September and it was amazing! Yes the decor is dated but it is so well looked after! The staff are very friendly and helpful, always saying hello and asking if you need anything. The breakfast was very good and changed daily. We always found something we really liked. The room was clean and the view was amazing 😻! The ac was fine but a little noisy. There is so much storage that I could have put each item of clothing in a different place!
Heads up that is not a building site to the right of the hotel it is an ancient Greek Temple!!!
The safe is charged at €2 a day and there is a hotel tax but not sure how much per day.
Don't worry if you forget a book there are hundreds to choose from in their library! 📚
We didn’t use the pool bar as we were out at the different beach’s during the day.
There is plenty of parking outside if you hire cars, quads or scooters so no need to park on the road.
The hotel isn’t far from the town a steady walk in to all the shops and the second best restaurant on the island is just outside.
We met a couple on the ferry over who paid our totally holiday price each for a modern hotel next door but hated it!
Overall amazing value for a stunning hotel and even have friends and family now heading over!!
Thank you for an amazing stay!!!
Lovely breakfast, loved the hot chocolate and excellent location!
Beautiful hotel great location and views, amazing breakfast, lovely staff , very friendly and the hotel condition is superb .
Excellent stay at Aeolus Hotel, we stayed for 1 week, the location & views from the Hotel were perfect.
The hotel is an older hotel, traditionally greek, everything worked & cleaned daily.
There were lots of books you could help yourself to & seating area to chill.
The staff were so pleasant & helpful, a credit to the hotel. Helpful even before the holiday, assisting with our queries regarding water taxi transfer.
Breakfast was plentiful & there was more than enough selection for us. Staff in the restaurant were great & would chat if you were to engaged with them
The pool area we enjoyed, plenty of beds & seating as not too busy.
We booked the mamma Mia tour & also got on the service bus a few days to Panormas beach, Stafylos beach (long hilly walk from beach) & also to Kastrani beach. These beaches were far nicer than the towns beach.
Restaurants & bars were lovely, the ones behind the front of the harbour being the best, go up into the side streets & explore.
Stunning holiday all in all in Skopelos town & we would definitely stay at Aeolus Hotel again.
Thank you
We stayed for four nights. The location is perfect! Close to the town, but still outside of the town noices. Perfect if tou are havent a car! Lot of Parking spots.
Very friendly and helpful staff. The Room was nice, just that we had the very first one, what everyone passed by, and you could hear the noices very loud. Another note would be, that the shower was quite tiny.
Breakfast was good as well! Pool area seemed nice, we prefered to drive to the beaches though.
As a few people have said, this is hotel is a bit dated in its decor but it was immaculate. Rooms cleaned every day with new towels, beds made, etc. Really friendly staff and about a 10 min walk into the town. Pool was always really quiet (for August) so no need to worry about getting a sun bed. The best beaches are a drive/bus journey away, although there is a small beach if you walk all the way around the bay and over the rocks. The main beach in the town is nothing special. Air con was essential because it never went below 24 degrees over night. There might be newer, more swanky hotels to choose, but I thought this was good value.
Rooms are spotless and of fine decor. Aircon efficient. Breakfast tasty and plenty of choice, juice a bit like squash but nice.
Cocktails pricey e9. 50 but choose the offer of the day 7.50.
Nice bar meals at reasonable prices but not open in evening.
Pool is cool with great access if you have mobility issues.
Lots of choice of restaurants but check what you are getting. The more up market ones did not provide complimentary sides.
We found the 2 floor tavern the best for value and a full meal.
This family run hotel has a lovely ambience and we would return.
