Great location, very convenient, decent hotel.
It was red hot in our room. The heating was permanently on and couldn’t be switched off. Outside our bedroom window was a filthy dump with detritus everywhere!
Breakfast
Really nice staff, nice old building in a good location, good breakfast,
No extra pillows (only one per person),
Easy to get to and easy parking and clean
Rooms ver hot
No aircon not enough plug sockets
Ok ish
Staff lovely/ attentive
Lovely clean and fresh looking eating area
Cleanliness of chair in bedroom and curtains and windows very poor
Stale smell in bathroom
The staff were very helpful.Food was good.
That you had to pay an extra £25 to have your room cleaned. Also being told that the same drinks that I and my husband had the first time of ordering at the bar on Saturday was a ser charge, even though we were charged the right price the day before and the second time after the first order on Saturday.Just say sorry about charging the wrong price.
Conveniently situated- enough parking
Reception was very busy With two couples checking in. Maybe her other chores of having a discussion with her colleague was more important? In room 217 the shower work very well- with cold water and lots of noises from the hot water faucet. Fortunately the room was extremely “ comfortably” hot because of no AC. We caught up on reading because of The noise from machines below our window. Breakfast— cuppachino with powder milk is not the most enjoyable, but even worse without.
Breakfast was more than expected great / room was very hot.
Location
Rather basic and dated
The staff were very helpful and friendly
Couldn't turn the heating off
The bed was really comfortable. The location to the channel tunnel is ideal.
Where to start: Dirty bedroom. Extremely expensive for 1 glass of wine and a corona £17. Lack of customer service is shockingly bad, we were ignored in the restaurant, a young surly girl with glasses was really rude. Nobody came to check on us in the restaurant, we had to go and find staff. The food is not good and quite expensive, you'd get better at your local Indian. Our room 5, overlooks a scruffy back yard, curtains were torn, its like its not been decorated since the 60's. I would 100% not recommend this hotel
Nice building but very tired appearance
Restaurant was good
Bedroom outdated and run down. All furniture propped up with cardboard, no bedside lamps, dirty toilet, bathroom door swollen and rubbing on floor, part of ceiling light fitting fell off when we entered the room! My partner put it back up! At least 3 beers had run out at the bar and we were offered a warm beer which we subsequently returned for a refund.
