Staff were great, breakfast was good, bed was great, bathroom was good, great price, cleanliness was OK.
Bedrooms need renovation, it feels a bit like a student hall, but I'm sure renovations are on the way, since the restaurant and bar have been recently renovated.
Nice hotel, like staying in an old manor house, just would say it is on a busy road and not many places to be able to walk from there. But we arrived late and left early, and the staff were very accomodating.
All surrounding area out and inside.
Noise from another bedroom between 3.30 and 5am.
Good water pressure/Checking out/driving out the carpark for the last time and the refund to come because
Upon arrival we were upgraded to a what they think is a better room but asked for our original. The room was stifling hot and grubby. The breakfast was swimming in more oil than Fonzie's slicked back hair ay! .
There were contractors staying at the same time and the smelly one must have been forced to sleep in his van and was constantly starting it up in the night to keep warm and revving it along with shouting and banging on second thoughts he probably didn't smell but just wasted his digs money on getting pissed and disturbing other guests.
The bed was in comfortable and harder than I could get it on the trip
We felt that every time we came back to our room someone had been in the room in our absence
Very pleasant staff and good breakfast
Heavy doors to the rooms , so hear whenever other people come and go
Great staff and super breakfast
Nothing
The member of staff ... especially the gentleman who checked me in .. he is surly an asset to the company
The room didn't have wall sockets... in this day and age I was so shocked to find that the room had only one wall socket which was almost to the door .. so one could not charge my phone over night especially coz I had my little baby with me and I needed to use my phone torch at night feeds because again the room had no night side bed lights .. the ones in the room and on the bed are so bright that they brighter than the main lights in the room .. omg lol
Quite room clean sheets, clean bathroom. Nice breakfast but not hot enough.
This place appears to house social services People
Warm breakfast, know English beer, just larger very noisy door closing system in rooms, scruffy grounds to hotel
Location
There was a generator that ran every 2 mins all night and was impossible to sleep. I would to take this complaint further
Bed was comfortable and lots of parking spaces with free parking for guests. Definitely would stay here again.
Partner caught her head on the small light just above the headboard on the bed. Definitely not the best placement.
The Breakfast was extraordinary. The rooms were very good for the price per night. I would come back
Comfy bed and nice breakfast
Check in staff told me breakfast was 6:30-8:30am. Got the breakfast and they said it didn’t start till later because it was the weekend. So set an early alarm for noting.
Close to our location we wanted to attend.
There was no side tables to put our stuff. No plugs near that space either to plug our mobiles. The windows were looking into houses, and there were not even a frosted, or stained even by some window film. All is needed is bottom half only. So we can still look outside, and also feel confident to walk in our room naked.
The view from outside, as we arrived and as we were leaving
Dated, and not in a good way!
Photos from Booking.com were clearly from another time, and definitely not recent. First appearance, as you drive up to the hotel looked promising, nice facade, and thats what it is...
Reception was a bar next to the restaurant. You have free 15min to register your vehicle on their Parking Eye tablet, or risk fine, which is ok providing you can check in under 15min, as you need the room number to register your vehicle...
Walk along the corridors and stairs to the hotel bedroom was like a 80s movie set, novel, but the novelty wore off when stepping into the hotel bedroom... the carpets were not clean, the decor was peeling, including the radiator, which was cold.
The bed looked like it had clean sheets, but way too soft, mattress had given up, which we nearly did, if hadn't been so late when we checked in, I would have found another hotel. Kept my shoes and socks on, the carpet...
Later in the night someone tried to open our hotel door, so we wedged furniture behind it. Then noticed the sign on the door warning us to keep door securely locked!! Someone tried the door again early morning...
Shower was weak, tepid at best. Did not want to try breakfast, left as quickly as possible...
As for value for money, no, absolutely not!
AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!
