Convenient for channel tunnel, staff went out of their way to make sure my motorbike got parked securely.

At check in the staff member couldn't have cared less and told us the wrong room number.
The room wasn't very clean, particularly the toilet.
Service in the restaurant was abysmal, despite only three tables occupied. Shown to a table and then waited 20 mins before our drinks order was taken, then 45 minutes for the food to appear.
The food was not as described on the menu e.g. the Chalk Stream Trout (which was Salmon) had chilli added, the Spaghetti Carbonara would not have been recognised as such by any competent chef - it appeared to be bacon, scrambled egg yolk and spaghetti, with cheese (?) grated over it (definitely not a creamy sauce)!
The breakfast menu mentioned several item which were not there, or not every day e.g. Yoghurts 1 out of 4 days, scrambled eggs never.
We will NOT be returning - talking to another guest, neither will she for similar reasons.

Doors impossible to close quietly, therefore constant loud banging through the night and early morning
The staff were helpful and made the check in smooth. I was also helped to take my luggage to my room.
I requested a ground floor room but none were available.
I had to put the kettle on the floor because there was only one suitable socket and that was in use for the fan as the room was uncomfortably warm.
There was no bedside light.
The showerhead needed descaling. The flow rate was very poor.

The team on site in this hotel were lovely. Everyone we met was helpful and professional and polite.
Breakfast was nice and excellent value. The bar area is comfortable and nice to sit in.
The towels and sheets on the bed were immaculately clean and bed was very comfortable.
There was a good amount tea, coffee and milk sachets in the room along with a kettle and cups.
There was a very welcome fan.
Other reviews have suggested a limited hot water supply, but this was not our experience. There was a relatively newly installed walk in shower in our bathroom.
Plentiful parking which needs validating in the hotel.
The furnishings and décor in the rooms appear tired. Small things need to be fixed, such as the there was an opener handle missing from one of the windows, the curtains need to be heavier weight to block light and some of the furniture needs updating. The room didn't smell clean and fresh, a little stale and closed up possibly, but the windows were open. Cleanliness could be better, there was a stain up the wall next to bed - possibly coffee spillage or similar. It looked like it might have been easy to wipe away so more attention to detail needed.
There were bottles of products in the shower, but the position of the holder made them impossible to use as the dispenser couldn't be depressed.
Little things that with some thought and attention could be quickly and cheaply remedied.
