The rooms where well presented,very comfortable,location is pretty good,& the staff are quick and makes things easy

Pros:

A few minutes drive to Woolworth. Close to city centre but quiet at night. Clean towels. Simple breakfast buffet included.

Cons:

Old furnitures and fixtures. Bed is too soft. Kitchenette not adequately equipped. Dining table is small with only two chairs. Wash basin in bathroom is too small to use, had to use the sink instead. Washing machine available but no dryer so useless. NZD40 valet parking per day (or free street parking from 6pm to 8am). I expected to pay in cash but staff charged my credit card mistakenly and did not inform me of the extra surcharge.

Pros:

The beds were very comfortable, the room was very clean. The set up was great. Love the kitchen/laundry area, valet parking. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Cons:

4 things...
1. The room had a musty smell, we opened the sliding doors.
2. The mats were a hazard we kept tripping on them.
3. The sofa had a stain so we covered it with something.
4. The table is too big for the space and it was wobbly.
Dont take this the wrong way, we were very happy with our room, but these few improvements will definitely make it an exceptional stay. And yes I would stay there again because you have everything I require.

Disappointing hotel
Pros:

Location is good, and the check in staff were nice

Cons:

First night - room had no air extraction in bathroom. Whole unit had a horrible blocked drain smell
2nd night - was reallocated a bigger room. It was ok...the carpet and furnishings and paint job looked 'threadbare', cheap and a rush job in their painting had been done. Also if you looked up, the bathroom extraction fan looked like it had never been cleaned.
3rd night - the fridge had frozen my food, the room safe didnt work, and despite there being a washing machine, there was no clothes dryer. I was in Auckland for a whole week and needed to wash/dry my clothes.

What cinched my decision to check out early, was the fact that the corridors have exposed wires in the ceiling, making me wonder if the owners/management had saved money by taking shortcuts in their build and fitout then what shortcuts had they taken in hotel safety. eg had they taken shortcuts with the fire alarms? hotel security? fire exits?

And finally, even though I had booked and paid for 5 nights, the hotel manager refused to refund me 2 nights, and didnt seem to care why I was checking out early.

Good location however I wouldn’t book again.
Cons:

The room was dated and not particularly clean. It was obvious that certain areas had been cleaned regularly, but other areas appeared neglected and in need of attention.
