I went there on a staff works do and had the best night in a long time!! The food was lovely and the staff were so friendly. I would recommend it. I’d be quite happy to go back and do it all again. Thank you.
Anyone been before for their Santa experience - it was amazing. Really good for the all the family. Faultless until this year.

Great for our SEN son because it was really releaxed.
On - 29th August I phoned to make a reservation and spoke to a girl who I won’t name - was told that the are offering it again this year and 3 times I asked ‘same as last year because of how relaxed it is’ and I was told consistently that’s yep it’s ty same.
Last year we had to take our food to the room incase my son wouldn’t sit at the restaurant which wasn’t a bother.
Shortly after it the elf’s came and took the waines to the grotto.
Anyway - after confirming it all I get nothing until yesterday to be told that it’s not the same. And what I have booked was this.

Im not calling her a liar but she’s a barefaced liar that’s not the exact same package. The wee girl that took the booking called me as well as the front desk manager. ‘Unfortunately the only options we have for you is change the date or cancel’ - change the dates why? If the package has been the same from the start as you say then why would I want to change it?
They offered a late checkout and Santa meet before we go home - again why would you want to check into the hotel a day before the actual meeting? Someone’s cooked down there - and the word unfortunately is tossed about down there more than the bedding.
Attitude rotten. Someone messed up here and it ain’t my fault. Don’t ask to speak to their GM for they are ‘not available’ 🤦
A current insider has advised me on what happened here - fully booked due to Christmas parties so Santa has been cancelled on the Saturday night and moved to Sunday as less ‘families will be about’
Spoke to their events manager and asked why I didn’t get confirmation which I was told you normally get a letter of confirmation and that’s when you could question the booking if you didn’t get it you should of contacted us……if things were supposed to be the same why would I even contact you - let’s all take zero responsibility that your incompetent staff member didn’t provide the correct information and I’ll accept I should of asked for a proof of booking……
Anyway - round and round and round we go. I have ended the thing by cancelling the room.
Won’t be back as a guest in the hotel which im sure they will be thrilled about but I will let everyone know that da vincis is a disgrace of a place.
I now have to find a way to tell my son who thinks he’s going to the hotel to see Santa that he isn’t going. It’s their fault. It’s too late to book another hotel as I can’t get any availability. Good job Da Vincis.
If anyone is planning on heading to da vincis Santa events - think again. They don’t know their arse from their elbow!
DISGRACE
Was staying at da'vincis over the Halloween. The food at restaurant was actually really good, and all of us enjoyed. We booked two rooms, one on 2nd floor the other one on 3rd floor. Frankly the one I was stayed was very dated, but clean apart some stains on walls and orange grouting in the shower. The other one was quite new. Overall the hotel looks dated, like nothing was done for years. The carpark its covered in potholes, but its free.
Da Vinci’s bar at the hotel was always the go to in Derry for the big rugby matches. But it would appear the hotel is under new management, who don’t approve of rugby. Big match tonight - New Zealand. It doesn’t get much bigger. We got in early. Got our seats. Got to kick off - no rugby. Spoke to the bar staff - they were under instructions that the rugby wasn’t to be shown. Only the Liverpool match. Bye bye Da Vinci’s. We will not be back.
This hotel is nothing like the internet describes. This hotel was horrible.
The location is wierd and not really walkable to anything. The atmosphere was quiet and odd. There wasn't anyone in the hotel or restaruant. The lobby smelled horrible, the hallway and room we were in smelled like mildew. The shower was moldy. The paintings in the room were dirty, the desk and table had dirty finger prints all over them. The heater didn't work real well. We were tempted to change hotels, but we were on vacation and didn't want to eat the $300+ we spent on the room. There is no way I would pay that kind of money for a hotel like this. Thank goodness we were only spending one night there.
Room was fine. A little older but clean. The hotel bar was amazing! Included breakfast was nice.
Lovely clean rooms easily accessible shower room plenty of parking and great choice of breakfast
enjoyed our stay! Elevator down the next morning. Tried to adjust temperature in room. Found temperature adjustment the next day behind curtains on unit. Very friendly and Caring staff. Bar area excellent . Facilities need a little upgrading/ TLC.
Water drainage in bathe hand sink and tub very slow,
Easy to find.
Friendly staff.
Building looked/felt run down.
Was close to docks and close to The Old Docks Bar and Grill.
Our third time staying here and this was the worst. Bathroom sink was blocked, room smelled bad and surfaces were dirty, lights were so dim we had to prop curtains open to get light. Decor and furniture were dirty and worn. Had to ask twice to get the heat turned on. Shower didn’t work right, toilet was hard to flush and slow to fill. Actually nothing nice to say. Staff kept saying rooms were old and soon to be refurbished, that was no good to me. Disgraceful to rent out those rooms, they should close them until updated. We’ll never stay there again. I’m generally not one to complain but this was so bad.
Very friendly, convenient with restaurant and bar attached. Room was very nice. Path by the river was close. They are working on fixing it up. Key lock needed maintenance a couple times.
Hotel is older but they are doing great job updating it! Rooms new and beautiful! Staff was very friendly and helpful!! Shout out to Flo shes a gem!!!
We held a party at the hotel and the staff were so helpful. The food was delicious. We has a fantastic evening.
Staff were extremely accommodating. Area 1 mile or so from downtown so had to take a cab. Breakfast was good. Hotel rooms and halls outdated.
The hotel could do with an update although rooms were comfortable and clean. The bar area is nice and well run and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Could be a a much nicer feel to the place with some paint and new carpet and also quality of breakfast was disappointing too.
Bank holiday weekend trip for golf and touring. Great location and great hotel with friendly service, good bar, grest food.
Visiting friends and family and had a wonderful stay. Great improvements to this hotel since I last stayed here. The staff on the front desk were super.
Nice hotel but much farther outside Derry than we realised. Breakfast was poor and very dried out but breakfast staff were nice and helpful. Lift not working was annoying as we were on the 3rd floor. Bar food very average. Room was fine. Expensive for what it was we felt
The hotel itself was in a nice building.
The check-in staff were literally non-existent. When we found someone it was disorganized.
We stayed for dinner and I’d rate that a 2 out of 5. If you want deep fried and extremely oily food, eat there. Service was a zero out of five. They bring you an empty water glass with nothing to drink. The whole dinner experience was stomach turning.
The room was nice, clean and comfortable. But with a large party down the hall, I wondered if they focus more on events than the sleeping experience of their hotel guests.
The checkout staff were warm and friendly.
Huge bedroom with sink and full size fridge. Bed was large and comfy. Shower/bathroom was new and spotless. Great spacious breakfast dining too. No rush for a table. Wish i was staying longer
