Comfortable clean room
Very soft bed
Staff were lovely but I requested a room close by shave mobility problems and a walk in shower. Requests were not passed on by booking.com, or so they said. Walked until I protested saying I can't go further. Rooms offered were dismal, finally found one slightly more cheerful but the window was into the dining room!!!! Couldn't reach the rail in the wardrobe and sitting in the chair in front of the mirror revealed only the top of my head.
See above. Lighting was good and bed comfy. Staff very kind. The food was good but plates were cold at breakfas
Everything, staff, service all excellent
Would have liked the temperature of room to be more controllable. Couldn't find how to reduce temperature below 18
How relaxed it was.
Nothing.
Second time visiting and love everything, the room, staff, restaurant….
Nothing
Lovely food
Noise from upstairs
The Sunday carvery in the Palm Court was outstanding the Turkey and Beef was superb along with a good choice of vegetables roasties and everything else you associate with Sunday lunch .
Where it fell down was in the service one of our party was served soup without a spoon and it took a while to get one .
While we were getting the carvery the used plates from the starters were left on the table when we returned , also no fresh cutlery or napkins were left for the carvery.
As it was a very hot day every other table was supplied with water except ours which we found surprising as the glasses were already in place, now we don't mind paying the prices charged but with that you expect a level of service that reflects that but sadly in our opinion the service fell short and for that reason it's unlikely we will be returning
Breakfast both mornings was excellent
Dinner second evening was disappointing
A large modern hotel / conference centre / wedding venue with extensive grounds a few miles south of Chester, right beside the Welsh border. There is an attractive restaurant and also a good selection of food in the spacious and atmospheric bar. My room was lovely - comfortable and well appointed with a good bathroom and selection of tea, coffee etc. I ate in both the restaurant and the bar and was impressed with the food in both places. There is a large spa but I didn't try it out!
We stayed at this hotel in April for birthday celebrations. We were upgraded to a garden view room which was lovely to see. We paid for the dinner, bed and breakfast package. You have to sign for each meal at the end. But what we didn’t realise was there is a service charge ontop of our included dinner. So what we thought was a package included in our stay (minus drinks) ended up being a larger bill at the end. Which defeated the purpose for me of paying in advance for dinner.
The main court restaurant is beautiful with the water and the automatic piano to listen too.
The spa was great but was rammed during end of term school break.
We have been visiting the Pulford since around 2006, it’s a beautiful hotel, we always return because we look forward to seeing the updates and changes that they do often. Our classic room was decorated just lovely, small and perfectly formed. Quality products, gorgeous comfy bedding. Enjoyed relaxing in the pool area. A perfect stay.
We enjoyed most things. Just felt the menu had been better in the past. We had a starter of of duck spring roles which were delicious but the chicken wings lacked any flavour and were very dry. Our evening meal was very tasty with wonderful, welcoming staff.
This is a lovely old manor house set in extensive grounds just a few miles south of Chester.
Rooms are well-appointed with all the little touches you might expect. Our room was spacious, comfortable, clean and very quiet.
We ate in the Palm Court restaurant. This is a lovely place with some traditinal elegance.
Food was good, but not amazing. I started with Aranccini and followed this with the short-rib burger. The burger was substantial but the beef had been ground too finely for me ... and therefore losing all texture. I asked if chef would cook the burger as rare as possible ... it came well done. I'd asked to substitute hand-cut chips fo the usual fries. It came with fries.
So, it was really pub grub at restaurant prices. the wines are relatively pricey too.
But the breakfast was excellent. Great choice and high quality bacon and sausage
So ...
All in all, it was very nice, but not stunning
