Great location. Arriving by train , ease of access, flat walk with luggage. Pay the extra for deluxe room with canal vie

The heritage aspect adds a nice dimension, and the location is just far enough away from the noise, yet to close to access whatever you need.
Handy to train station, with an easy flat walk.

Cons:

The check in process caused some concern, when we were allocated a room that someone was already checked into !
Despite the rocky start, the hotel did redeem itself with a pleasant stay.
Suggestions for management, please review your check in and security process !

My stay did not meet expectations whatsoever. To begin with, the air conditioning in the room was very poor and made the stay uncomfortable. Furthermore, I was deeply disappointed by the unhelpful and unwelcoming attitude of the front desk staff. I faced flight delays and asked for their cooperation to extend my check-out time. However, I was met with an entirely illogical demand: to pay the full price of a night just to extend my stay until 3:00 PM!

This kind of treatment shows a complete lack of flexibility and professional customer service. I expected a much higher standard of hospitality and appreciation for guests' circumstances.

Un hôtel,/musée vivant du style Art Déco avec vue sur un canal.
Pros:

Le petit déjeuner ! Fabuleux ! Le meilleur que j'aie jamais testé dans un hôtel, extrêmement varié et très sain. J'ai particulièrement apprécié l'eau chaude avec menthe, gingembre et citron frais servis près d'un samovar, ainsi que la variété de graines et de granolas.
Le style Art déco du bâtiment qui est incroyable ! Au point qu'il est visité par des milliers de gens lors des journées du patrimoine.

Cons:

J'ai été étonnée qu'on me demande une caution en entrant dans la chambre. Par ailleurs je comptais faire un late check our mais on nous a demandé de rendre la chambre à midi (Cependant, nous n'avons pas été débités du late check out)

Disappointed.
Pros:

This is a great, imposing building with a lot of history, well-placed for visiting Amsterdam and close to the Main Train Station. The facade and general look of the building is impressive as you can probably see from the photos. The decor of the restaurant and the bar are also suitably impressive, similar to other hotels we have stayed in of the same era.

Cons:

This was the last hotel of a two week European trip, travelling as far as Italy and staying in 4 other hotels along the way. We have stayed in Amsterdam previously, never at this hotel. As this was the last hotel of our trip, we thought we'd treat ourselves. This was easily the most expensive place we stayed, so had high hopes. We stayed in room 704 on the second floor. The cost did not include breakfast (stupid us!). All our previous hotels had included a good breakfast at much less cost. Access to the hotel is restricted to stairs at first approach, although there is apparently another way in that can be opened. You need to lift your luggage up the entrance stairs, (unless a porter spots you I guess). The hotel is rather maze-like, with a few short steps at various places and the use of lifts as expected. We consider ourselves reasonably fit, but any infirm person might find this a problem. Our room was spacious, with a large double bed, chairs, table, sideboard and wardrobe, and reasonably well-appointed in the style of the hotel. However, there was a very loud and annoying cracking noise from the lower glass bathroom door hinge which was unexpected, and was a nuisance, especially at night when you didn't want to wake your spouse when using the facilities. It sounded like the glass would shatter each time you used the door, which was clearly upsetting. We can't believe this has not been noticed before. Otherwise the bathroom was good, although there was no bidet (a slight surprise). One of the window locks wouldn't work, and consequently we were unable to block out the noise of a party occurring across the street on our last night. They had a great time! The bed was rather uncomfortable for me which was also surprising. We didn't eat in the restaurant or drink in the bar. On checking out we notified the staff of the room issues, so they may be fixed for the next visitors.

Very grand hotel in a great location.
Pros:

Location close to train station and city centre. Also the architecture and history of the property especially the ceiling in the central staircase .

Enjoyed our stay at the Amrath. A older building with lots of charm. Helpful staff
Pros:

Our room was nice and we enjoyed our stay. The bed was quite comfortable, the room was spacious and appreciated having a full-size desk. We enjoyed the Nespresso machine and a mini bar with waters and coke that were included. The buffet breakfast was very nice, decent variety and custom omelettes available on request. The staff was helpful and friendly, and the location was very convenient to Centraal station.

Cons:

An outside view from the windows would've been nice but they did let in light. More electrical receptacles would have been convenient, but it is a (historic) older building and they were adequate.
