Beautifully restored hotel in former tea factory with lots of original features still present . Stunning location, you can watch sunrise over the tea plantations and valley.
Food in the restaurant in the evening was really good with lots of choice.
They offer a fine dining"experience" in a former train carriage. It was a fun thing to do and the food was excellent but at $100 per person it is overpriced.
We experienced issues with communication both via booking.com messages and at the hotel. They took 6 weeks to respond to a query, finally replying 2 days before our stay meaning it was too late to amend my (flexible) booking.
The breakfast buffet disappeared on our second day and we had to choose "a la carte" western or European- limited choice. No explanation or apology for the change.
Service was very slow and we frequently had to go to reception to ask them to send a waiter so we could order drinks. Once we found a member of staff they were lovely!
We missed seeing the giant fan turn on because no one told us
A local village festival gave us a rude awakening at 6am due to very loud music, prior warning and we could have worn ear plugs.
We loved the hotel itself and if you want to stay in a former tea factory in all it's glory then go. But overall we felt a bit underwhelmed.
The 360 degrees view in our room. The warm welcome. The beautiful furniture and fittings and the dining room.
Nothing
The staff were really lovely. We went on a tour around the hotel and truly enjoyed it — our guide was very friendly and made the experience even better. The hotel itself was, of course, very beautiful. The view from our hotel room was especially beautiful
La chambre ne correspond pas à un 5 étoiles ni les équipements.
The staff could not do more for you very friendly
This property was very difficult to get to very narrow road with the price we paid per night surely they could make the road safer
Like stepping back in time - the hotel has a wonderful old fashioned (in a good way) feel. An incredible building to stay in and a breathtaking location. Rooms are very comfortable and we were lucky enough to have a balcony to look out from.
Nothing.
Staying in the converted tea factory was so interesting..it has a charm all of its own.View it as a stand alone experience and not just accommodation.Very peaceful, take time to relish its uniqueness.. the mini organic tea factory .. I was shown around by a wonderful lady called Jayanthi and Kavikanthan and Sujithraj were so helpful in the restaurant .. Ganesh gave me a little look at the railway carriage where you can have dinner .. all so interesting … but all staff were friendly and offered authentic caring service.
Switch off and enjoy the views and dramatic mists as they float over the hills .
Very remote but that’s part of its charm. Its quite a distance to Nuwara Eliya so recommend half board.
I respect the dress code for dinner but think it should be made clear when booking that option.
The hotel location is acceptable, and the view from the terrace is quite nice, you can see the surrounding scenery clearly. However, there are very few places that can be reached on foot, which makes it a bit inconvenient if you want to explore nearby.
As a Chinese guest, I found both dinner and breakfast to be quite average in terms of quality. In addition, the service felt a bit overly attentive, and I was interrupted quite frequently during meals.
The room itself is comfortable and the Wi-Fi signal is excellent. However, there are very few power outlets in the room, and unfortunately there is no charging outlet near the bedside, which is not very convenient.
What I liked the least was the behavior of some of the hotel staff. After helping with small tasks, they would often stand nearby waiting for a tip, which made the experience uncomfortable. This was the only hotel where we encountered this situation.
During our seven nights in Sri Lanka, we also stayed at Sigiriya Hotel and the Jetwing Hotel in Yala. These hotels offer similarly high-quality facilities and service, yet their staff never lingered around expecting tips.
In addition, some staff members repeatedly tried to promote extra services or products, which made the experience feel somewhat uncomfortable.

I cannot complain
Totally unique building, very comfortable room, super staff and great food. The location within the tea plantation was spot on. Parthmaraj showed us around the amazing gardens he has been tending for 30 years.
Nothing - it exceeded expectations on every level.
Dinner at the train restaurant was amazing. We loved our conductor. He was amazing.
