Shangri-La Guangzhou

Room Cleaning staff is friendly and kind ,however , front desk check in staff were not professional .

Clean and fresh room with city views & orchids! Buffet breakfast was a treat and an experience not to be missed. Restaurants foods was fresh and delicious! (Pricy food compared to any other outside restaurants. Amenities are excellent as is the swimming pool/s.

Slightly old architect building but other than that its an amzing stay

Just a one night short trip and it was always a delight to be at the Shangri-la, the home away from home feeling never disappoint, amazed at the value for money factor, if heading this way from Hong Kong, it would be your best choice. Always book the Horizon Club rooms to enjoy brief business meetings in the lounge.

Shangri La’s staff gave us complementary fruits, and snacks. The swimming pool is gigantic, with the outdoor area perfect for a good stroll.

This was the third Shangri-La hotel we've stayed at in the past six months, and — as expected — it was amazing!

Our room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully prepared. We selected our preferred pillows via the Shangri-La app before arrival, and they were ready and waiting for us — such a thoughtful touch. From our window, we enjoyed a fantastic view of the river and the city skyline.

The fitness center and spa were top-notch and had everything we needed. I couldn’t resist treating myself to another aroma massage at CHI, The Spa — just heavenly.

One of the highlights for our family was the outdoor swimming pool. There was a fun foam soap party the evening we arrived, and the inflatable water slide was a huge hit with the kids! Just a heads-up: swimming caps are required, so bring your own or plan to get one there.

Breakfast was generous and full of variety. It's one of those moments where you tell yourself, "Just one bun..." but they all look so delicious that you end up having two — or more! 😄

We traveled by taxi, so I can’t comment on public transportation, but it felt like a very central location.

And finally — a big plus in mainland China — the Wi-Fi worked great and even allowed access to YouTube, which made my son especially happy since he didn’t have to rely on my travel mobile internet or use a VPN!

Very good hotel but chaos at time of check in and breakfast since they don't setup rope to queue up. Better to learn from others like Westin at front desk

The service was impeccable. Hotel was a little outdated but it was still a great hotel. Would stay here again just for the service!

They were very friendly and very considerate to our 40th anniversary celebration and made special decoration in the room. Apart from this the overall hotel and staff are great, pleasant and enjoyed every bit of it

Very comfortable stay with many facilities available. The room was big and bathroom too. I took the rooms facing the river so it was nice view we had. Overall nice and comfortable stay.

Everything was superb. Walking distance to Canton Fair. staff should speak english better as i was having issues translating everytime.

The property is nice but dated. BONUS, its very close to the Canton Fair.

No Bellman helped us with our luggage or greeted us when we first arrived.

We decided to try 3 different 5 star hotels for each Phase of thr Canton Fair. All within walk distance to the Fair. All the exact same price range.

The Shanghai-la honestly felt like a money grab and didnt actually provide any service.

For example other hotels offered cocktail hours, welcome drinks, someone explained all the different dining options, engaged with us, and checked in with us daily to see how we are doing or if any needs werent being met.

That being said all the staff we encountered pleasant.

The outdoor pool closes early to be allowed entrance to the indoor pool you must wear a swim cap and lane swim.

As a side note... the hot tubs are separated by gender and located in the individual change rooms.
