we loved this place... It was a paradise!
The staff is super friendly and very helpful, the facilities have a warm and inviting charm that is not found in modern construction, and the flora and fauna found in the grounds is otherworldly.
As nature lovers, this place was ideal for us to enjoy bird observation and luxury accommodations. The pool area is top notch!
The restaurant is very good and we enjoyed many regional specialties.
Highly recommended for course or families! We plan to come back again when we have children to enjoy it with.
We loved our stay! I want to mention Paul who was incredible and helped us a lot in everything we needed.
The staff in general were incredibly kind, flexible and warm.
The atmosphere is incredible,
The pools were beautiful and the burger at the restaurant was yummy!!!
1010!!!!
The setting was wonderful, set in its own grounds with little huts as detached individual rooms around a pool. The room was a high standard and aesthetically pleasing, The area around the complex is forest with pathways leading to reception and a large restaurant which is full of light overlooking the pool. The pool is the focal point, split into 3 sections differing in depth.
While I was impressed with the layout and facility I felt the food and drinks were more expensive than elsewhere I’d stayed, It’s not an option to eat anywhere else, so I thought that was a bit much as it was exploiting the guests. The location was also very good for access into Palenque. Much as I liked the look and the layout, the prices were hard to accept. Also, 5am when wildlife wakes up… you’ll wake up.
Exelente
Super nice 😃👍
We had a very pleasant dinner at the restaurant of Chan-Kah Resort. The setting is peaceful, surrounded by lush jungle — ideal for a relaxed evening.
Service was professional and friendly, with a special mention for Yleen, the hostess, who made us feel welcome and gave great suggestions.
The Mango Margarita was outstanding, and the shrimp croquettes are definitely worth trying. Food was well-prepared and nicely presented. A solid choice for both guests and visitors in the Palenque area.
The hotel is super beautiful clean and have the best pools. The restaurant has excellent food and wonderful service. They have a Starbucks store but the coffee is not as good as the one we have in USA and the manager was rude and arrogant.
The hotel is located in jungle close to Palenque ruin, like 5 to 10 minute walk to the ticket office. The swimming pool is very nice and the room has excellent balcony patio facing the jungle. We saw some wildlife during our stay. The room is very spacious and clean. The restaurant on site is very convenient and the food is super good. The staff at restaurant wasn't very attentive when we asked for table, being ignored for a couple of times until we were seated, the waiters assigned to our table were nice and attentive serving food and drinks.
Beautiful and perfect to visit Palenque. Everything was fine.
Great eco-hotel.
This hotel is actually in the middle of the jungle, the setting is gorgeous but the rooms are a bit too old and the food was not very good.
Where do we start to explain this experience?
The hotel is close to the National Park. The grounds are reasonably well kept. That’s the positive dealt with.
On check in you are expected to sign a set of house rules; prior to being able to leave, your room has to be checked before an exit pass is given. I can only presume they were counting the towels because the room didn’t have a mini bar, coffee facilities or any valuables! Even the security safe didn’t have a lock - you had to pay a deposit for that!
Food and drinks by the pool and restaurant are probably 2 and a half times more to what you expect to pay in a good Mexican restaurant. The food was OK. Breakfast again OK. Service was slow and disorganised.
The rooms were dated and not particularly clean, especially the concrete/pebble stone floors.
Fortunately we were only here for one night.
Not a good experience.
We were really looking forward to being in the jungle and spending three nights in this hotel. However it was very disappointing. The staff on reception were very well meaning. But it didn’t bode well when the first thing they have to do is read you a list of rules that will result in a fine if you transgress. Then you have to sign and agree to pay a fine if you want a key for the safe in case you lose it. The same for a shabby pool towel. Just those things alone wouldn’t prompt me to write a bad review. It was the experience of the restaurant that really is hard to believe. Like another review says it was farcical but also maddening.Bear in mind that the hotel was virtually empty - the service was slow and grumpy and the food very average and at least twice the price of some the excellent restaurants you can visit in the town of Palenque.
On the first night we decided not to tip - something we rarely would do. But the woman who manages the restaurant took it on herself to add in the optional tip an amount equivalent to 15%. I refused to pay it. The following day we bought a burger and chips by the pool. Again it was disappointing. This time I paid the waiter cash and to extract a tip the manger sent him back to short change me with a stack of coins taped together! I kid you not. When I looked closely instead of ten 5peso coins (which would have been correct) they were ten 2 peso coins. Incredible! From then on we ate in town where there is a little area of great cafes and restaurants like The Red Snapper.
Do yourselves a favour and find a nice hotel in the town and avoid this one.
I hate writing a bad review and I feel for the well meaning young staff on the reception but this hotel needs to “shape up.”
The pool was nice, rooms are ok but old.
This is an amazing hotel - I always stay here when in Palenque - it is beautiful, great restaurant, nature is around you - we were treated to the sights and sounds of howler monkeys in the trees. It is also very convenient for the ruins.
The property is stunning and well maintained. The staff is attentive and many at the front desk are bilingual. The onsite restaurant is not very accommodating for vegetarian clients but is probably fine for meat eaters. Starbucks onsite is a big plus. Howler monkeys are awesome. Bed was comfortable. Good value and easy base for seeing the amazing ruins of Palenque. Wife adds that the hair dryer was caput.
The resort has the potential to be very nice. The rooms are large, the bathroom good with a powerful hot shower. However everything looked very dated and worn. The pool was nice and we both had a lovely massage in the spa. The major thing wrong with this place is the restaurant. Breakfast may be waiter served or a buffet depending on number of people staying. However it was difficult getting anything bought to the table eg coffee, hot water, some cutlery. We only stayed two nights and had an evening meal just once. That was enough. The food was okay but the service was terrible, it was chaotic to the point of being a farce. Wrong food bought to the table, forgotten drinks, cutlery missing. The bill which took about 30 minutes to get included both the correct food order and the wrong one. Had we stayed another night I would have gone somewhere else to eat.
Amazing place. Beautiful setting in the middle of the Maya jungle. The hotel was completely empty - two other guests. The staff would not let us checking earlier to change while there was no one at the hotel and our rooms were ready. Restaurant and food were good and the pool is amazing.
Muy bonito y agradable. En el corazón de ma selva. Fue fantástico desayunar con mi esposa apreciando la lluvia en el porche de nuestra cabaña. La alberca fantástica. A 5 min del eco parque y la zona arqueológica palenque.
Extraordinario. Nos faltaron días para seguir disfrutando. Gracias
