I've been there on meetup.
1. Arrogant staff. I've never ever encountered so unfriendly and tough hotel staff.
2. Food was bland. All in all it acceptable. However there are some hotels with better cafe.
very nice , very good staff and location very nice food and personal room cleaner ,the staff is polite and friendly very comfortable hotel for the price and quality, near metro station , near market very good
I was there two times in a month. First time was good with the room and the service. The second time I stayed in a room in the last floor with no air conditioner and no coffee maker and the staff was rude when I asked for those ammendities.
The incredible rudeness of one particular staff member on check in desk name of Victoria was very disconcerting. It made a horrible atmosphere every time she was on duty.
The staff were very friendly, helpful and spoke English. They can provide a map and suggestions of what to see in Moscow. The room was clean and a good size with air conditioning, a fridge and a desk. There was a hairdryer in the bathroom but no toiletries. The TV had a few international channels.
If you arrive late as we did they offer a limited evening menu and there is a small bar with beer , water, tea and coffee. The drinks were reasonably priced.
Wi-fi - worked well in the room and public areas.
Location - the area was safe with several children's playgrounds. There are limited restaurants, bars and cafes. The metro is a 10 minute walk (2 lines available) and is next to a small shopping centre with a 24hr supermarket. The metro was efficient to get into central Moscow and a 3 day travel card is very cheap. This allows you to use all forms of public transport.
Transfers - the hotel offers transfers to and from the airports. Email them and they will send a price list. The taxi driver was very friendly.
Stayed a couple of nights (at the end of the World Cup!) Despite lots of fans in the hotel it wasn't too noisy - the hotel is much larger than it seems from outside.
The weather was very hot and there was no air-conditioning in the room, so had to have the window wide open each night, so got some street noise. The heated towel rail in the bathroom was nice for drying the towels, but it makes the bathroom very hot. If you were here outside the summer months the room would be very cozy.
Most importantly the bed was very comfortable, and I had a good night's sleep. Nice features in the room include a fridge which I used to store water (the tray of glasses and bottle opener were tucked on top of the fridge which is in its own cupboard so you don't hear it that much). When the TV was switched on it came up with a personal welcome message, a nice touch. The wifi is also good, you get a login for the room with your room key.
Breakfast room on the 2nd floor is nice, and they offer a reasonable range of items to choose from. They also have a good selection of tea - the black tea was great.
I found the staff friendly and helpful.
Location wise, it's an easy walk to the Vladykino Metro station, crossing a large 8 lane was easy as there are pedestrian crossing for each pair of lanes. 30 or 40 minutes and you are in central Moscow - travelling on the Moscow underground is fairly straightforward and tickets are cheap (55kp for a single journey ). Returning to the hotel make sure you pick the right end of the platform to leave by otherwise you have to cross a railway bridge to retrace your steps.
Staff was friendly, specially those in the restaurant. Hotel located near metro. Room clean and comfortable. My only complain is about the curtains, they were not dark/thick enough to block the sunlight at midnight...
No air conditioning....extremely hot room. Rooms are a little small but worth what you pay for
It was good but it is farther away from subway then they advertise.
I'm so glad we booked this hotel! It's in a pleasant tree-lined avenue, an easy metro ride from the centre. Really kind, helpful, polite staff - everyone from the chamber maid to the desk staff - many of whom speak some English (though your attempts to speak and read Russian will be very helpful).
Excellent breakfasts, with something to appeal to everyone: we especially enjoyed the fresh water melon, eggs, buckwheat porridge and very good coffee. The attention to detail was much appreciated, e.g. things that were not easy to identify at first glance were, very helpfully, neatly labelled, in both Russian & English. (This encouraged me to try new things: I liked the keffir so much I'm now having it at home, too.)
Lunch & dinner in the hotel restaurant (as seems to be common in many places in Russia, 'business lunch' - with very good value fixed price menu options - was available normally between noon and 4 p.m.), as well as room service, were also very good - room service was fast and efficient, with a very moderate service charge - with plenty of tasty options available at very good prices: we loved the mushroom soup, pasta & salads, as well as the drinks (great tea, & beer, & OK wine).
The little bar / cafe area was also pleasant, with a good choice of drinks - it offered another nice little area to sit in, if you didn't want to stay in your room all the time. We didn't try the in-house steam room, which looked attractive in the photos, but seemed to be relatively slightly expensive (use is charged by the hour).
Everywhere felt very homely, comfortable & safe - the hotel was a very welcoming place to return to, after long days of sightseeing.
Our room was quite simple & fairly basic but had all we needed: comfy beds, nice bedlinen, openable double glazed window, with a clean bathroom with an excellent shower and basic toiletries, & also a heated towel rail - which was much appreciated as we had 2 days of torrential downpours (my shoes were wet for the whole week); OK TV with multi lingual news channels; a very handy little fridge - which we stocked up with occasional drinks & snacks from the small grocery shop just a few minutes' walk away, on the way to the metro station.
The only less than very good things (which were rather trivial, but I feel I should mention them) were: 1. a very noisy group of guests who shouted to each other and banged doors from 5 a.m. onwards! Not of course the hotel's fault; but guests need to be aware that there may be groups here, and they might be noisy; 2. some unexpected little steps both by the door into the room and on the way to the restaurant - these tripped us up regularly until we got used to them; 3. when we first entered our room, there was a quite horrible smell: this was very offputting, but dissipated fairly quickly. I think the staff must have been aware of it, as they'd left the window open to air the room. I attribute the smell to the likelihood that the room had not been used for a little while, and that something might have got temporarily stuck in the drainage system (important N.B.: the hotel does not put up notices about this, but everywhere in Moscow, one is expected not to put paper down the loo, but, instead, into the basket next to it. Perhaps the last inhabitants of our room were not aware of this.)
This hotel is an easy 30-minute metro ride from the centre (important tip: do please use the Vladykino metro station, the one shown on little map from reception - access to the other one involves negotiating a potentially very dangerous level crossing. If you do use that one, please do not try to cross the tracks when 1 train has gone by & the light is still red - another train may well be just behind ...Terrifying. It is, however, tempting to try this other station, as there's a very useful local-style shopping mall on the route, with some cheap local fast food eateries [some Russian needed to deal with these]).
All in all, a great stay, and I cannot recommend this hotel too highly. Moscow can be a rather daunting metropolis for the first time visitor, but this hotel goes a long way towards making one feel at home there.
This hotel is not the most luxurious of Moscow.. Far from it, but still very good foe what it stands.
Need to be done here is the Thai massage service done by real Thai people...
The excellent vika will guide you to the Zen zone where you will be taken in charge by another lovely hiostess...
A real thrill
Must do
Moscow has a very convenient and efficient metro system, which makes every tourist spot easily accessible. The hotel is a bit far from central area but there is a nearby metro stop. We got the correct route on Google map thus it took us only 15 minutes from the closest station platform to hotel main door. Hotel is well managed and all staff are kind and helpful.
