Stayed here on a 4-centre trip booked by our travel agent and on this basis booked an additional room for our daughter.
Obviously the agent hadn't read the reviews, but neither did we!!!
On arrival staff were efficient and explained everything we needed to know.
It's a quirky hotel with no connecting corridors between rooms. There are two lifts, each serving a landing from which some rooms can be accessed. Our lift did not stop at floor level, but on landings half way between floors, meaning we had to go up or down half a flight of stairs to go to or from our room.
Our rooms were basic and functional but spotlessly clean. Bathrooms were modern, spotless and bright. Air conditioning is available but at an additional charge. Thankfully we managed without it.
Showers are good, the temperature is difficult to regulate but there is plenty of water pressure. Neither room had a plug on the bathroom wash-hand basin.
TV has limited access to English language channels, (we couldn't find any). The remote control had limited effect on changing channels (or on switching TV on or off) from more than 2 feet away. Asked at reception for new batteries. Night porter said he had none but would leave a note. Also made a note re a flickering light bulb. The bulb and batteries were changed, next day but we quickly gave up on finding channels to suit.
WiFi wasn't strong and was often not available.
There were only two tea bags in each room on arrival, one flavoured, one Earl Gray, two coffee creamer cartons too. No coffee. Same on second day. I asked at reception and was told, contrary to their website, that they don't provide coffee sachets in rooms. I was directed to a coffee machine in the reception area.
Beds are basic with little padding left meaning the springs can be easily felt pressing through against you, despite there also being a mattress protector under the sheet. In one room the eep headboard padding was inconveniently placed, making it uncomfortable to sit and read.
Plenty of choice for breakfast with a very good selection, although "juices" seemed to be of the diluted variety rather than "fresh". On our last day they opened a second, more comfortable dining area which also offered a good selection.
The hotel location is very good for the price. Not exactly central, but within easy walking distance of a tram stop, tube station, train station and the National Museum at the top of Wenceslas Square (11 mins according to Google maps).
There is a local supermarket, corner shop, bars and restaurants, all within a few minutes walk.
Public transport is cheap, (especially if buying 24, 48 or 72 hour passes), frequent and easy to navigate using a relevant App. It is also free for over 65's, just carry proof (photo ID, e.g. passport) in case asked.
Overall summary? You get what you pay for.
I was worried about staying here due to the negative reviews. However I was pleasantly surprised. The room was spotless and serviced daily. The bathroom was gleaming. Yes the shower cubicle is a bit on the small size but clean and powerful.
We took our own extension cable with 4 outlets and our own tea and coffee. There aren't any spare sockets in the room and tea/coffee isn't replenished.
We didn't have air conditioning but they do supply a fan which we used and the windows open and nights were quite comfortable. The staff were all friendly and helpful but then we were pleasant to them. Breakfast is continental with a reasonable choice.
Go out of the hotel turn left and left again and you are 3 minutes from the subway past several coffee shops - honest taste is good and several cafe bars as well as 2 mini markets and a larger supermarket (Tesco franchise) and a couple of restaurants. Download the PID app I got a 3 day pass (about £13) and it's all your subway and trams etc. Hotel is one stop away from a big shopping street with numerous restaurants. Muzeum or change here for 2 stops for Old Town Square, Charles Bridge etc.
All in for a relatively cheap hotel it was clean comfortable and handy for getting around. If all you need is a bed for the night and a breakfast then it's not a bad choice.
We didn't try the spa so can't comment.
It was good experience 😃😃
Good breakfast as well.

Clean service and localization.
