Really comfy, warm and clean. No frills but coffee machine and kettle and lovely new towels.
Highly recommended if visting Van Gough/ Rijksmuseum - close by. Also plenty of trams!
Room without heating for a winter trip, strong draught near the window. Despite requesting additional heating, our stay at the hotel was unpleasant.
Great location. Close to trams and within walking distance of lots of attractions.
Reception staff were friendly and helpful.
We were staying in the annexe which has steep stairs to the entrance, these are not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
Our room was basic and not 4 star in my opinion.
There was a wet cloth lying in the sink when we arrived. Felt the hotel could have been cleaner.
Bed was comfortable but was 2 singles pushed together rather than a double.
Tea and coffee in rooms but no biscuits.
This hotel is located very close to the city centre. We could get everywhere with public transport. The rooms were big enough and cozy. And the staff was very kind and helpful!
The room with garden view was very nice, quiet, and the hôtel was 5min walk from the canal Cruise tour, hard rock café and Leidsplein (5min), the musuem quarter (10min by walk),..the bus to the airport n•397 (4min walk), we stayed 2 nights, and I ll choose again this hôtel for the next time.
Staff was good
Not like an amazing hotel but I liked my room
I recently spent four days in Amsterdam with my 89-year-old mum, and the city couldn’t have been more perfect for us. From the warm hospitality to the gentle pace of life, everything felt tailored to make our trip special.
Our hotel was in a fantastic location—central yet peaceful, with Vondelpark, cafés, and restaurants just a short walk away. The reception staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and our room was lovely. A comfy bed, a great shower, and daily cleaning made it feel fresh and welcoming. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches: a table and chairs, a coffee maker, and a kettle with tea and coffee always available.
One of the highlights was a serene boat trip through Amsterdam’s iconic canals. It was a gentle way to see the city’s beauty, and Mum loved every moment. We also ventured out to Edam, where we saw the famous windmills and visited a clog factory—a charming and nostalgic.
Dinner at the Hansel and Gretel restaurant was a treat. The setting and comforting food made it a memorable evening. It was the kind of place that we would happily visit again, and Mum loved the warm atmosphere. It reminded her of the pub she ran in the 1960’s.
Amsterdam welcomed us with open arms. It’s a city that respects its elders and offers a gentle rhythm that’s perfect for a relaxed getaway. For anyone considering a trip with an older loved one, I can’t recommend it enough.
This was a lovely short break for a few days mid week in early autumn as a couple - the hotel is an elegant townhouse near the Vondelpark; close to many restaurants, cafes, shops, and public transport connections.
Our room (an "executive double") on the top floor had both a large jacuzzi/jet bath and rainfall shower in the bathroom, and plenty of space to relax into. The bed was very spacious and comfortable, and the facilities well appointed for what we needed.
The staff were all always friendly, welcoming, and helpful - and able to help us with a variety of requests & assistance during our stay.
Although we had planned to eat out for all breakfasts during our stay (to maximise the opportunities to experience the excellent café culture of the city, and save a little spending money), we chose to take one breakfast in the hotel - which for the offering was surprisingly expensive compared to other comparable hotels we've stayed in.
Overall we had an excellent stay, and would happily stay here again for future trips to the City.
I would stay again. Lovely hotel on nice peaceful and v beautiful road. Great location. Nice staff, and nice communal area to sit and relax. Rooms v nice design. Bathrooms a little tired, but nice! We had huge bath, though jets didn’t work. Room16 on the ground floor pretty noisy in the AM, as close to the dining area and reception, so we did have the hustle and bustle from 8am (not so good for a lie-in). Would still recommend
Great Hotel with a nice location. Team Roemer and the staff were very helpful and kind. Good breakfast!
Hotel was in the best location
We had an okay stay here until a vent fell off the ceiling and started to leak a bunch of water into our bathroom on the final night, right as we were trying to go to sleep. We told staff and unfortunately they couldn’t find us another room. All they offered us were towels to soak up the large amount of water on the toilet, floor and shelf below (didn’t clean it up themselves — just gave us towels for us to deal with the mess). Thankfully the water didn’t soak too much of our belongings but it meant we couldn’t use our bathroom the final night without the risk of it happening again. Management said they would follow up about compensating for the poor experience but we have still not heard anything from them and it’s been a full week. We were offered a free breakfast the morning after, which we couldn’t use because we were told about it as we were checking out and had to catch a train. We left our contact information at the front desk and submitted our feedback through the hotel survey and still haven’t heard anything from management about this inconvenience during the final night of our stay. Overall, we experienced quite horrible customer service. At least the location was decent. However the room was mediocre (even before the flooding) — they only provide each person with 1 pillow, the shower was a horrible design that soaked the entire bathroom floor and the place was freezing and hard to get a good temperature with the A/C. We definitely wouldn't stay there again

Great location to stay , quiet and confortable.
The onlh drawback is the cleaness which could be improved, although it was acceptable
"The hotel was very well located, close to the train and in the city center. The room was large and spacious, but the toilet area was very cramped and there was barely enough space to sit. We also had an issue with the TV not working on the first night, but it was taken care of afterward. Overall, the hotel was quite okay, and we do recommend it.
Breakfast was the same every morning, minimalist and satisfying.
Lovely hotel. Stayed for 3 nights staff were soo very nice, with good English Close enough walk to local shops restraunts ect and tram stop but not central enough to be loud.
Room was lovely and spacious well equip. Bed was huge could easily fit 3 or 4 adults on one bed. And we're not small people. Lovely over the head walk in shower (did flood the bathroom a little as flat) and huge bath. Very comfortable. Tv with channels from different nationalitys. Wardrobe space ( more hangers would have been nice ) fridge ( not the coldest) we had a baloney too although very wet didn't seem to dry out due to being into back garden.
We had breakfast one morning lots of choices hot and Continental. Had snacks and drinks there throughout the day ( honesty form to be filled out to pay)
Would have liked a plug near one of the mirrors as made curling my hair quite difficult
Very easy to get in and out all times of day and night but secure to none guests
We were in the main hotel but seemed to be an overflow hotel across the road.
Everything was in order here. Started in a room I hadnt ordered through some small confusion but they movied me to the correct room without any problem the very next evening. Desk staff were friendly and helpful. Beds very comfortable. Bathrooms stunning. Quaint backyard to enjoy the afternoon. Very close to Museums, Vondelpark, and the Leidesplein. I'd definitely come back.
Disappointing souterrain room with no proper heating, only air condition and a door wich lead to public aereas, so opening the window or door was no possibility. Dark and stuffy room with no coat hooks and no closet. No rack no means to stow your clothes properly. The bathroom was cold, with spiders, and hairs in the bathtub when we first ever entered to room.
The beds were two single beds, when pushed together you could ust vanish in the chasm in the middle. The matrasses were fine though.
Breakfast was small, with no variety of foods, standard hoods feom the supermarked like slices of cheese (with dry edges) and dry ham. Coffee machine was ok.
Staff at the reception was very friendly.
Wonderful small hotel, friendly and helpful staff, and in a great location.
Really great location, nice spacious rooms and a very comfortable bed. Perfect base to explore Amsterdam!
